1. യഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു

1. Family of Israel, listen to the Lord!

2. ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടു യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരോടും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളോടും പ്രസ്താവിപ്പിന് .

2. This is what he says: 'Don't live like people from other nations. Don't be afraid of special signs in the sky. The other nations are afraid of what they see in the sky. But you must not be afraid of them.

3. നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഈ നിയമത്തിന് വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്ത മനുഷ്യന് ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് .

3. The customs of other people are worth nothing. Their idols are nothing but wood from the forest. Their idols are made by workers with their chisels.

4. അവയെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു അവരെ ഇരിമ്പുചൂളയായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളില് കല്പിച്ചുനിങ്ങള് എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്വിന് ; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് എനിക്കു ജനവും ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ദൈവവും ആയിരിക്കും എന്നരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

4. They make their idols beautiful with silver and gold. They use hammers and nails to fasten their idols down, so they will not fall over.

5. ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശം കൊടുക്കും എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഞാന് അവരോടു ചെയ്ത സത്യം നിവര്ത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ. അതിന്നു ഞാന് ആമേന് , യഹോവേ, എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

5. The idols of the other nations are like a scarecrow in a cucumber field. They cannot walk. They cannot talk, and the people must carry them. So don't be afraid of their idols. They cannot hurt you. And they cannot help you either.'

6. അപ്പോള് യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുനീ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വീഥികളിലും ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും വിളിച്ചുപറകഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടു ചെയ്തുകൊള്വിന് .

6. Lord, there is no one like you! You are great! Your name is great and powerful!

7. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളിലും ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞാന് അതികാലത്തും ഇടവിടാതെയും അവരോടുഎന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്പ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. Everyone should respect you, King of all the nations. You deserve their respect. There are many wise men among the nations, but not one of them is as wise as you.

8. അവരോ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെവി ചായ്ക്കയും ചെയ്യാതെ ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യപ്രകാരം നടന്നു; ആകയാല് ഞാന് അവരോടു ചെയ്വാന് കല്പിച്ചതും അവര് ചെയ്യാതെയിരുന്നതുമായ ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് അവരുടെ മേല് വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. All the people of the other nations are stupid and foolish. Their teachings come from worthless wooden statues.

9. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുയെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിലും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളുടെ ഇടയിലും ഒരു കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. They use silver from the city of Tarshish and gold from the city of Uphaz and make their statues. Carpenters and metalworkers make the idols. They put blue and purple clothes on them. 'Wise men' make these 'gods.'

10. അവര് എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്ത പൂര്വ്വപിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു, അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാന് അവരോടു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചെയ്ത നിയമം യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും ലംഘിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. But the Lord is the only true God. He is the only God who is alive. He is the King who rules forever. The earth shakes when he is angry. The people of the nations cannot stop his anger.

11. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുവാന് കഴിയാത്ത ഒരനര്ത്ഥം ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തും; അവര് എന്നോടു നിലവിളിച്ചാലും ഞാന് കേള്ക്കയില്ല.

11. The Lord says, 'Tell them this message: 'These false gods did not make heaven and earth. They will be destroyed and disappear from heaven and earth.''

12. അപ്പോള് യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളും ചെന്നു, തങ്ങള് ധൂപം കാട്ടിവന്ന ദേവന്മാരോടു നിലവിളിക്കും; എങ്കിലും അവര് അവരെ അനര്ത്ഥകാലത്തു രക്ഷിക്കയില്ല.

12. God is the one who used his power and made the earth. He used his wisdom and built the world. With his understanding, he stretched the sky over the earth.

13. യെഹൂദയേ, നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിനക്കു ദേവന്മാരുണ്ടു; യെരൂശലേമിലെ വീഥികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിങ്ങള് ആ ലജ്ജാവിഗ്രഹത്തിന്നു ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെ, ബാലിന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാനുള്ള പീഠങ്ങളെ തന്നേ തീര്ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. God causes the loud thunder, and he causes great floods of water to fall from the sky. He makes clouds rise in the sky every place on earth. He sends lightning with the rain. He brings out the wind from his storehouses.

14. ആകയാല് നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കരുതു; അവര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി യാചനയോ പക്ഷവാദമോ കഴിക്കയുമരുതു; അവര് അനര്ത്ഥംനിമിത്തം എന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് കേള്ക്കയില്ല.

14. People are so stupid! Metalworkers are fooled by the idols that they themselves made. These statues are nothing but lies. They are stupid.

15. എന്റെ പ്രിയെക്കു എന്റെ ആലയത്തില് എന്തു കാര്യം? അവള് പലരോടുംകൂടെ ദുഷ്കര്മ്മം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ; വിശുദ്ധമാംസം നിന്നെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; ദോഷം ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് നീ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നു.

15. These idols are worth nothing. They are something to make fun of. In the time of judgment, they will be destroyed.

16. മനോഹര ഫലങ്ങളാല് ശോഭിതമായ പച്ച ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷം എന്നു യഹോവ നിനക്കു പേര്വിളിച്ചിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് മഹാകോലാഹലത്തോടെ അവന് അതിന്നു തീ വെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളും ഒടിഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്നു.

16. But Jacob's God is not like the idols. He made everything, and Israel is the family that God chose to be his own people. His name is Lord All-Powerful.

17. യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും ബാലിന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടി എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതില് ദോഷം പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കയാല് നിന്നെ നട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അനര്ത്ഥം വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. Get everything you own and prepare to leave. People of Judah, you are trapped in the city, and the enemy is all around it.

18. യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതിനാല് ഞാന് അതു അറിഞ്ഞു; അന്നു നീ അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ എനിക്കു കാണിച്ചുതന്നു.

18. This is what the Lord says: 'This time, I will throw the people of Judah out of this country. I will bring pain and trouble to them. I will do this so that they will learn their lesson.'

19. ഞാനോ അറുപ്പാന് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന മരുക്കമുള്ള കുഞ്ഞാടുപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ പേര് ആരും ഔര്ക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം വൃക്ഷത്തെ ഫലത്തോടുകൂടെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളക എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര് എന്റെ നേരെ ഉപായം നിരൂപിച്ചതു ഞാന് അറിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

19. I am hurt badly. I am injured and I cannot be healed. Yet I told myself, 'This is my sickness, I must suffer through it.'

20. നീതിയോടെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കയും അന്തരംഗവും ഹൃദയവും ശോധനകഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, നീ അവരോടു ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രതികാരം ഞാന് കാണുമാറാകട്ടെ; ഞാന് എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നിന്നെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

20. My tent is ruined. All its ropes are broken. My children left me. They are gone. No one is left to put up my tent. No one is left to fix a shelter for me.

21. അതുകൊണ്ടുനീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യാല് മരിക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് പ്രവചിക്കരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നിനക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാന് നോക്കുന്ന അനാഥോത്തുകാരെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു

21. The shepherds are stupid. They don't try to find the Lord. They are not wise, so their flocks are scattered and lost.

22. ഞാന് അവരെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കും; യൌവനക്കാര് വാള്കൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും; അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും.

22. Listen! A loud noise! The loud noise is coming from the north. It will destroy the cities of Judah. Judah will become an empty desert. It will be a home for jackals.

23. ഞാന് അനാഥോത്തുകാരെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കുന്ന കാലത്തു അവര്ക്കും അനര്ത്ഥം വരുത്തുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവരില് ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

23. Lord, I know people don't really know how to live right.
