1. എന്നാല് യിരെമ്യാവു ഈ കാര്യങ്ങളെ പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതു ഇമ്മേരിന്റെ മകനും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നു പ്രധാനവിചാരകനുമായ

1. Thus said Jehovah, Go, and buy a potter's earthen bottle, and [take] of the elders of the people, and of the elders of the priests;

2. പശ്ഹൂര്പുരോഹിതന് കേട്ടിട്ടു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനെ അടിച്ചു, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നരികെയുള്ള മേലത്തെ ബെന്യാമീന് ഗോപുരത്തിങ്കലെ ആമത്തില് ഇട്ടു.

2. and go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the gate Harsith, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell thee;

3. പിറ്റെന്നാള് പശ്ഹൂര് യിരെമ്യാവെ ആമത്തില്നിന്നു വിട്ടപ്പോള് യിരെമ്യാവു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുയഹോവ നിനക്കു പശ്ഹൂര് എന്നല്ല, മാഗോര്മിസ്സാബീബ് (സര്വ്വത്രഭീതി) എന്നത്രേ പേര് വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു.

3. and say, Hear ye the word of Jehovah, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem: thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, which whosoever heareth, his ears shall tingle.

4. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് നിന്നെ നിനക്കു തന്നെയും നിന്റെ സകലസ്നേഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും ഭീതിയാക്കിത്തീര്ക്കും; അവര് ശത്രുക്കളുടെ വാള്കൊണ്ടു വീഴും; നിന്റെ കണ്ണു അതു കാണും; എല്ലായെഹൂദയെയും ഞാന് ബാബേല്രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് അവരെ പിടിച്ചു ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി വാള്കൊണ്ടു കൊന്നുകളയും.

4. Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, that they knew not, they and their fathers and the kings of Judah; and have filled this place with the blood of innocents,

5. ഈ നഗരത്തിലെ സകലനിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും അതിലെ സകലസമ്പാദ്യങ്ങളും സകലവിശിഷ്ടവസ്തുക്കളും യെഹൂദാ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ സകലഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളും ഞാന് ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവര് അവയെ കൊള്ളയിട്ടു ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടു പോകും.

5. and have built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons in the fire for burnt-offerings unto Baal; which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind:

6. എന്നാല് പശ്ഹൂരേ, നീയും നിന്റെ വീട്ടില് പാര്ക്കുംന്ന എല്ലാവരും പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരും; നീയും നിന്റെ വ്യാജപ്രവചനം കേട്ട നിന്റെ സകല സ്നേഹിതന്മാരും ബാബേലിലേക്കു ചെന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു മരിക്കയും അവിടെ അടക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.

6. therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that this place shall no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of Slaughter.

7. യഹോവേ, നീ എന്നെ സമ്മതിപ്പിക്കയും ഞാന് സമ്മതിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്തു നീ ബലം പ്രയോഗിച്ചു ജയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് ഇടവിടാതെ പരിഹാസവിഷയമായിരിക്കുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും എന്നെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു.

7. And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies will I give to be food for the birds of the heavens, and for the beasts of the earth.

8. സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോഴൊക്കെയും ഞാന് നിലവിളിച്ചു സാഹസത്തെയും ബലാല്ക്കാരത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ആവലാധി പറയേണ്ടിവരുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം എനിക്കു ഇടവിടാതെ നിന്ദെക്കും പരിഹാസത്തിന്നും ഹേതുവായിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. And I will make this city an astonishment, and a hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.

9. ഞാന് ഇനി അവനെ ഔര്ക്കുംകയില്ല, അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ അതു എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളില് അടെക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് തീ കത്തുംപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് സഹിച്ചു തളര്ന്നു എനിക്കു വഹിയാതെയായി.

9. And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters; and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend, in the siege and in the distress, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their life, shall distress them.

10. സര്വ്വത്രഭീതി; ഞാന് പലരുടെയും ഏഷണി കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; കുറ്റം ബോധിപ്പിപ്പിന് ; ഞങ്ങളും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു കുറ്റം ബോധിപ്പിക്കാം; നാം അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചു അവനോടു പക വീട്ടുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം പക്ഷെ അവനെ വശത്താക്കാം എന്നു എന്റെ വീഴ്ചെക്കു കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവരായ എന്റെ ചങ്ങാതിമാരൊക്കെയും പറയുന്നു.

10. Then shalt thou break the bottle in the sight of the men that go with thee,

11. എന്നാല് യഹോവ ഒരു മഹാവീരനെപ്പോലെ എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു; ആകയാല് എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നവര് ഇടറിവീഴും; അവര് ജയിക്കയില്ല; അവര് ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കായ്കയാല് ഏറ്റവും ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും; ഒരിക്കലും മറന്നുപോകാത്ത നിത്യലജ്ജയോടെ തന്നേ.

11. and shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaketh a potter's vessel, that cannot be made whole again; and they shall bury in Topheth, till there be no place to bury.

12. നീതിമാനെ ശോധനചെയ്തു, അന്തരംഗങ്ങളെയും ഹൃദയത്തെയും കാണുന്നവനായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, നീ അവരോടു ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രതികാരം ഞാന് കാണുമാറാകട്ടെ; എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

12. Thus will I do unto this place, saith Jehovah, and to the inhabitants thereof, even making this city as Topheth:

13. യഹോവേക്കു പാട്ടുപാടുവിന് ! യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിപ്പിന് ! അവന് ദരിദ്രന്റെ പ്രാണനെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. and the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, which are defiled, shall be as the place of Topheth, even all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink-offerings unto other gods.

14. ഞാന് ജനിച്ച ദിവസം ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ അമ്മ എന്നെ പ്രസവിച്ച ദിവസം അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

14. Then came Jeremiah from Topheth, whither Jehovah had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of Jehovah's house, and said to all the people:

15. നിനക്കു ഒരു മകന് ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ അപ്പനോടു അറിയിച്ചു അവനെ ഏറ്റവും സന്തോഷിപ്പിച്ച മനുഷ്യന് ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് .

15. Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it; because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.
