1. ആയാണ്ടില്, യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കല്, നാലാം ആണ്ടില് അഞ്ചാം മാസത്തില്, ഗിബെയോന്യനായ അസ്സൂരിന്റെ മകന് ഹനന്യാപ്രവാചകന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും സര്വ്വജനത്തിന്റെയും മുമ്പില്വെച്ചു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. In the beginning of the reign of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, this word came to Jeremias from the Lord, saying:

2. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രാകരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് ബാബേല്രാജാവിന്റെ നുകം ഒടിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

2. Thus saith the Lord to me: Make thee bands, and chains: and thou shalt put them on thy neck.

3. ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു എടുത്തു ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ ആലയംവക ഉപകരണങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് രണ്ടു സംവത്സരത്തിന്നകം ഈ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തും;

3. And thou shalt send them to the of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon: by the hand of the messengers that are come to Jerusalem to Sedecias the king of Juda.

4. യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ മകനായി യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ നെഖൊന്യാവെയും ബാബേലിലേക്കു പോയ സകലയെഹൂദാബദ്ധന്മാരെയും ഞാന് ഈ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തും; ഞാന് ബാബേല്രാജാവിന്റെ നുകം ഒടിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

4. And thou shalt command them to speak to their masters: Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Thus shall you say to your masters:

5. അപ്പോള് യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന് പുരോഹിതന്മാരും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് നിലക്കുന്ന സകല ജനവും കേള്ക്കെ ഹനന്യാപ്രവാചകനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു

5. I made the earth, and the men, and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power, and by my stretched out arm: and I have given it to whom it seemed good in my eyes.

6. ആമേന് , യഹോവ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുമാറാകട്ടെ; യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം വക ഉപകരണങ്ങളെയും സകലബദ്ധന്മാരെയും അവന് ബാബേലില്നിന്നു ഈ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തുമെന്നു നീ പ്രവചിച്ചവാക്കുകളെ യഹോവ നിവര്ത്തിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ!

6. And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon my servant: moreover also the beasts of the field I have given him to serve him.

7. എങ്കിലും ഞാന് നിന്നോടും സകലജനത്തോടും പറയുന്ന ഈ വചനം കേട്ടുകൊള്ക.

7. And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son: till the time come for his land and himself: and many nations and great kings shall serve him.

8. എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മുമ്പു പണ്ടേയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാര് അനേകം ദേശങ്ങള്ക്കും വലിയ രാജ്യങ്ങള്ക്കും വിരോധമായി യുദ്ധവും അനര്ത്ഥവും മഹാമാരിയും പ്രവചിച്ചു.

8. But the nation and kingdom that will not serve Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, and whosoever will not bend his neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon: I will visit upon that nation with the sword, and with famine, and with pestilence, saith the Lord: till I consume them by his hand.

9. സമാധാനം പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകനോ അവന്റെ വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാകുമ്പോള്, അവന് സത്യമായിട്ടു യഹോവ അയച്ച പ്രവാചകന് എന്നു തെളിയും എന്നു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന് പറഞ്ഞു;

9. Therefore hearken not to your prophets, and diviners, and dreamers, and soothsayers, and sorcerers, that say to you: You shall not serve the king Babylon.

10. അപ്പോള് ഹനന്യാപ്രവാചകന് യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ കഴുത്തില്നിന്നു ആ നുകം എടുത്തു ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടു,

10. For they prophesy lies to you: to remove you far from your country, and east you out, and to make you perish.

11. സകലജനവും കേള്ക്കെ; ഇങ്ങനെ ഞാന് രണ്ടു സംവത്സരത്തിന്നകം ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ നുകം സകലജാതികളുടെയും കഴുത്തില്നിന്നു എടുത്തു ഒടിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനോ തന്റെ വഴിക്കു പോയി.

11. But the nation that shall bend down their neck under the yoke of the king Babylon, and shall serve him: Will let them remain in their own land, saith the Lord: and they shall till it, and dwell in it.

12. ഹനന്യാപ്രവാചകന് യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ കഴുത്തില്നിന്നു നുകം എടുത്തു ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞശേഷം യിരെമ്യാവിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

12. And I spoke to Sedecias the king of Juda according to all these words, saying: Bend down your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, and his people, and you shall live.

13. നീ ചെന്നു ഹനന്യാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതുയഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു നീ മരംകൊണ്ടുള്ള നുകം ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്നു പകരം നീ ഇരിമ്പുകൊണ്ടുള്ളൊരു നുകം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. Why will you die, thou and thy people by the sword, and by famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

14. എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിനെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇരിമ്പുകൊണ്ടുള്ളോരു നുകം ഞാന് ഈ സകലജാതികളുടെയും കഴുത്തില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് അവനെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടിവരും; വയലിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഞാന് അവന്നു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. Hearken not to the words of the prophets that say to you: You shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they tell you a lie.

15. പിന്നെ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന് ഹനന്യാപ്രവാചകനോടുഹനന്യാവേ, കേള്ക്ക! യഹോവ നിന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല; നീ ഈ ജനത്തെ ഭോഷ്കില് ആശ്രയിക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു.

15. For I have not sent them, saith the Lord: and they prophesy in my name falsely: to drive you out, and that you may perish, both you, and the prophets that prophesy to you.

16. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് നിന്നെ ഭൂതലത്തില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും; ഈ ആണ്ടില് നീ മരിക്കും; നീ യഹോവേക്കു വിരോധമായി മത്സരം സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. I spoke also to the priests, and to this people, saying: Thus saith the Lord: Hearken not to the words of your prophets, that prophesy to you, saying: Behold the vessels of the Lord shall now in a short time be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

17. അങ്ങനെ ഹനന്യാപ്രവാചകന് ആയാണ്ടില് തന്നേ ഏഴാംമാസത്തില് മരിച്ചു.

17. Therefore hearken not to them, but serve the king of Babylon, that you may live. Why should this city be given up to desolation?
