1. ആ കാലത്തു ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലവംശങ്ങള്ക്കും ദൈവമായും അവര് എനിക്കു ജനമായും ഇരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

1. THE WORD that came to Jeremiah from the Lord:

2. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുവാളിന്നു തെറ്റി ശേഷിച്ച ജനം മരുഭൂമിയില് കൃപ കണ്ടെത്തി; ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വിശ്രാമം വരുത്തുവാന് പോകുന്നു.

2. Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Write all the words that I have spoken to you in a book.

3. യഹോവ ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു എനിക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുനിത്യസ്നേഹംകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിനക്കു ദയ ദീര്ഘമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. For, note well, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will release from captivity My people Israel and Judah, says the Lord, and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they will possess it.

4. യിസ്രായേല്കന്യകേ, ഞാന് നിനക്കു വീണ്ടും അഭിവൃദ്ധി വരുത്തുകയും നീ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; നീ ഇനിയും ചേലോടെ തപ്പു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചു, നൃത്തംചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെ നിരയില് പുറപ്പെടും.

4. And these are the words the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah:

5. നീ ഇനിയും ശമര്യ്യപര്വ്വതങ്ങളില് മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടാക്കും; കൃഷിക്കാര് കൃഷിചെയ്തു ഫലം അനുഭവിക്കും.

5. Thus says the Lord: We have heard a voice of trembling and panic--of terror, and not peace.

6. എഴുന്നേല്പിന് ; നാം സീയോനിലേക്കു, നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു, കയറിപ്പോക എന്നു കാവല്ക്കാര് എഫ്രയീംമലനാട്ടില് വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്ന നാള് വരും.

6. Ask now and see whether a man can give birth to a child? Why then do I see every man with his hands on his loins like a woman in labor? Why are all faces turned pale?

7. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുയാക്കോബിനെച്ചൊല്ലി ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിപ്പിന് ! ജാതികളുടെ തലവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു ആര്പ്പിടുവിന് ! ഘോഷിച്ചും സ്തുതിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടുയഹോവേ, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പായിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ജനത്തെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറവിന് !

7. Alas! for that day will be great, so that none will be like it; it will be the time of Jacob's [unequaled] trouble, but he will be saved out of it. [Matt. 24:29, 30; Rev. 7:14.]

8. ഞാന് അവരെ വടക്കുദേശത്തുനിന്നു വരുത്തുകയും ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളില്നിന്നു അവരെയും അവരോടുകൂടെ കുരുടനെയും മുടന്തനെയും ഗര്ഭിണിയെയും നോവുകിട്ടിയവളെയും എല്ലാം ശേഖരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; അങ്ങനെ വലിയോരു സംഘം ഇവിടേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരും.

8. For it will come to pass in that day, says the Lord of hosts, that I will break [the oppressor's] yoke from your neck, and I will burst your bonds; and strangers will no more make slaves of [the people of Israel].

9. അവര് കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു വരും; യാചിക്കുന്നവരായി ഞാന് അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവരും; അവര് ഇടറിപ്പോകാത്ത നിരപ്പുള്ള വഴിയില് ഞാന് അവരെ നീര്ത്തോടുകള്ക്കരികെ നടത്തും; ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പിതാവും എഫ്രയീം എന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനുമല്ലോ.

9. But they will serve the Lord their God and David's [descendant] their King, Whom I will raise up for them. [Jer. 23:5.]

10. ജാതികളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് ! ദൂരദ്വീപുകളില് അതിനെ പ്രസ്താവിപ്പിന് ! യിസ്രായേലിനെ ചിതറിച്ചവന് അവനെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ത്തു, ഒരിടയന് തന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തെ കാക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവനെ കാക്കും എന്നു പറവിന് .

10. Therefore fear not, O My servant Jacob, says the Lord, nor be dismayed or cast down, O Israel; for behold, I will save you out of a distant land [of exile] and your posterity from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return and will be quiet and at ease, and none will make him afraid or cause him to be terrorized and to tremble.

11. യഹോവ യാക്കോബിനെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തു അവനെക്കാള് ബലവാനായവന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു അവനെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. For I am with you, says the Lord, to save you; for I will make a full and complete end of all the nations to which I have scattered you, but I will not make a full and complete end of you. But I will correct you in measure and with judgment and will in no sense hold you guiltless or leave you unpunished.

12. അവര് വന്നു സീയോന് മുകളില് കയറി ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്കും; ധാന്യം, വീഞ്ഞു, എണ്ണ, കുഞ്ഞാടുകള്, കാളകൂട്ടികള് എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ നന്മയിലേക്കു ഔടിവരും; അവരുടെ പ്രാണന് നനഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന തോട്ടം പോലെയാകും; അവര് ഇനി ക്ഷീണിച്ചു പോകയുമില്ല.

12. For thus says the Lord: Your hurt is incurable and your wound is grievous.

13. അന്നു കന്യകയും യൌവനക്കാരും വൃദ്ധന്മാരും ഒരുപോലെ നൃത്തംചെയ്തു സന്തോഷിക്കും; ഞാന് അവരുടെ ദുഃഖം മാറ്റി സന്തോഷമാക്കും; ഞാന് അവരെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു സങ്കടംപോക്കി സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കും.

13. There is none to plead your cause; for [the pressing together of] your wound you have no healing [device], no binding plaster.

14. ഞാന് പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ പ്രാണനെ പുഷ്ടികൊണ്ടു തണുപ്പിക്കും; എന്റെ ജനം എന്റെ നന്മകൊണ്ടു തൃപ്തിപ്രാപിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

14. All your lovers (allies) have forgotten you; they neither seek, inquire of, or require you. For I have hurt you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel and merciless foe, because of the greatness of your perversity and guilt, because your sins are glaring and innumerable.

15. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുരാമയില് ഒരു ശബ്ദം കേള്ക്കുന്നു! വിലാപവും കഠിനമായുള്ള കരച്ചലും തന്നേ; റാഹേല് തന്റെ മക്കളെക്കുറിച്ചു കരയുന്നു; അവര് ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് അവരെച്ചൊല്ലി ആശ്വാസം കൈക്കൊള്വാന് അവള്ക്കു മനസ്സില്ല.

15. Why do you cry out because of your hurt [the natural result of your sins]? Your pain is deadly (incurable). Because of the greatness of your perversity and guilt, because your sins are glaring and innumerable, I have done these things to you.

16. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുകരയാതെ നിന്റെ ശബ്ദവും കണ്ണുനീര് വാര്ക്കാതെ നിന്റെ കണ്ണും അടക്കിക്കൊള്ക; നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു പ്രതിഫലമുണ്ടാകും; അവര് ശത്രുവിന്റെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു മടങ്ങിവരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

16. Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; and all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity. And they who despoil you will become a spoil, and all who prey upon you will I give for a prey.

17. നിന്റെ ഭാവിയെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു; നിന്റെ മക്കള് തങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

17. For I will restore health to you, and I will heal your wounds, says the Lord, because they have called you an outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no one seeks after and for whom no one cares!

18. നീ എന്നെ ശിക്ഷിച്ചു; മരുക്കമില്ലാത്ത കാളകൂട്ടിയെപ്പോലെ ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് മടങ്ങി വരേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ മടക്കിവരുത്തേണമേ; നീ എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയല്ലോ.

18. Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will release from captivity the tents of Jacob and have mercy on his dwelling places; the city will be rebuilt on its own [old] moundlike site, and the palace will be dwelt in after its former fashion.

19. ഞാന് തെറ്റിപ്പോയശേഷം അനുതപിച്ചും ഉപദേശം ലഭിച്ചശേഷം തുടമേല് അടിച്ചു നാണിച്ചും ലജ്ജിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ യൌവനത്തിലെ നിന്ദയല്ലോ ഞാന് വഹിക്കുന്നതു എന്നിങ്ങനെ എഫ്രയീം വിലപിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് നല്ലവണ്ണം കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

19. Out of them [city and palace] will come songs of thanksgiving and the voices of those who make merry. And I will multiply them, and they will not be few; I will also glorify them, and they will not be small.

20. എഫ്രയീം എന്റെ വാത്സല്യപുത്രനോ? ഔമനക്കുട്ടിയോ? ഞാന് അവന്നു വിരോധമായി സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോഴൊക്കെയും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു എന്റെ മനസ്സില് സ്ഥായി തോന്നുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ഉള്ളം അവനെച്ചൊല്ലി ഉരുകുന്നു; ഞാന് അവനോടു കരുണ കാണിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

20. Their children too shall be as in former times, and their congregation shall be established before Me, and I will punish all who oppress them.

21. നിനക്കു അടയാളങ്ങളെ വെക്കുക; കൈചൂണ്ടികളെ നാട്ടുക; നീ പോയ പെരുവഴി മനസ്സില് വെച്ചുകൊള്ക; യിസ്രായേല്കന്യകേ, മടങ്ങിവരിക; നിന്റെ ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്കു തന്നേ മടങ്ങിവരിക.

21. And their prince will be one of them, and their ruler will come from the midst of them. I will cause him to draw near and he will approach Me, for who is he who would have the boldness and would dare [on his own initiative] to approach Me? says the Lord.

22. വിശ്വാസത്യാഗിനിയായ മകളേ! നീ എത്രത്തോളം ഉഴന്നുനടക്കും? യഹോവ ദേശത്തു ഒരു പുതുമ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നുസ്ത്രീ പുരുഷനെ ചുറി പരിപാലിക്കും.

22. Then you will be My people, and I will be your God. [Jer. 7:23.]

23. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് അവരുടെ പ്രവാസികളെ മടക്കിവരുത്തുമ്പോള് അവര് ഇനിയും യെഹൂദാദേശത്തും അതിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും, നീതി നിവാസമേ, വിശുദ്ധപര്വ്വതമേ, യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നീ വാക്കു പറയും.

23. Behold, the tempest of the Lord has gone forth with wrath, a sweeping and gathering tempest; it shall whirl and burst upon the heads of the wicked.

24. അതില് യെഹൂദയും അതിന്റെ സകല നഗരവാസികളും കൃഷിക്കാരും ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നവരും ഒരുപോലെ പാര്ക്കും.

24. The fierce anger and indignation of the Lord shall not turn back until He has executed and accomplished the thoughts and intents of His mind and heart. In the latter days you shall understand this.
