1. മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനെബോവിന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അതു ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; കിര്യ്യത്തയീമിന്നു ലജ്ജ ഭവിച്ചു; അതു പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയി; ഉയര്ന്ന കോട്ട ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

1. The word of LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh smote Gaza.

2. മോവാബിന്റെ വമ്പു ഒടുങ്ങിപ്പോയി; ഹെശ്ബോനില് അവര് അതിന്റെ നേരെ അനര്ത്ഥം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; വരുവിന് , അതു ഒരു ജാതി ആയിരിക്കാതവണ്ണം നാം അതിനെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളക; മദ്മേനേ, നീയും നശിച്ചുപോകും; വാള് നിന്നെ പിന്തുടരും.

2. Thus says LORD: Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land and all that is therein, the city and those who dwell therein. And the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail

3. ഹോരോനയീമില്നിന്നുനാശം, മഹാസംഹാരം എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിലവിളി കേള്ക്കുന്നു.

4. മോവാബ് തകര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുകള് നിലവിളി കൂട്ടുന്നു.

5. ലൂഹീതിലേക്കുള്ള കയറ്റത്തില്കൂടി അവര് കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു കയറിപ്പോകുന്നു; ഹോരോനയീമിലേക്കുള്ള ഇറക്കത്തില് സംഹാരത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള നിലവിളിയുടെ സങ്കടശബ്ദം കേള്ക്കുന്നു.

5. Baldness has come upon Gaza. Ashkelon is brought to naught, the remnant of their valley. How long will thou cut thyself?

6. ഔടിപ്പോകുവിന് ! പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിപ്പിന് ! മരുഭൂമിയിലെ ചൂരല്ചെടിപോലെ ആയിത്തീരുവിന് !

6. O thou sword of LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? Put up thyself into thy scabbard. Rest, and be still.

7. നിന്റെ കോട്ടകളിലും ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളിലും ആശ്രയിച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു നീയും പിടിക്കപ്പെടും; കെമോശ് തന്റെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും കൂടെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകും.

7. How can thou be quiet, since LORD has given thee a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea-shore. He has appointed it there.
