1. ആ കാലത്തു അവര് യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെയും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളുടെ അസ്ഥികളെയും ശവകൂഴികളില്നിന്നെടുത്തു,

1. The LORD said to Jeremiah:

2. തങ്ങള് സ്നേഹിച്ചതും സേവിച്ചതും പിഞ്ചെന്നു അന്വേഷിച്ചതും നമസ്കരിച്ചതുമായ സൂര്യന്നും ചന്ദ്രന്നും ആകാശത്തിലെ സര്വ്വസൈന്യത്തിന്നും മുമ്പാകെ അവയെ നിരത്തിവേക്കും; ആരും അവയെ പെറുക്കിക്കൂട്ടുകയോ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയോ ചെയ്കയില്ല; അവ നിലത്തിന്നു വളമായിത്തീരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

2. 'Stand in the gate of the LORD's temple and proclaim this message: 'Listen, all you people of Judah who have passed through these gates to worship the LORD. Hear what the LORD has to say.

3. ഈ ദുഷ്ടവംശങ്ങളില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ശേഷിപ്പു ഒക്കെയും, ഞാന് അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സകലസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവര് തന്നേ, ജീവനെയല്ല മരണത്തെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

3. The LORD God of Israel who rules over all says: Change the way you have been living and do what is right. If you do, I will allow you to continue to live in this land.

4. നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഒരുത്തന് വീണാല് എഴുനീല്ക്കയില്ലയോ? ഒരുത്തന് വഴി തെറ്റിപ്പോയാല് മടങ്ങിവരികയില്ലയോ?

4. Stop putting your confidence in the false belief that says, 'We are safe! The temple of the LORD is here! The temple of the LORD is here! The temple of the LORD is here!'

5. യെരൂശലേമിലെ ഈ ജനമോ ഇടവിടാത്ത പിന്മാറ്റമായി പിന്മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നതും വഞ്ചന മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു മടങ്ങിവരുവാന് മനസ്സില്ലാതിരിക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

5. You must change the way you have been living and do what is right. You must treat one another fairly.

6. ഞാന് ശ്രദ്ധവെച്ചു കേട്ടു; അവര് നേരു സംസാരിച്ചില്ല; അയ്യോ ഞാന് എന്തു ചെയ്തുപോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ആരും തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതയെക്കുറിച്ചു അനുതപിച്ചില്ല; കുതിര പടെക്കു പായുന്നതുപോലെ ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ വഴിക്കു തിരിയുന്നു.

6. Stop oppressing foreigners who live in your land, children who have lost their fathers, and women who have lost their husbands. Stop killing innocent people in this land. Stop paying allegiance to other gods. That will only bring about your ruin.

7. ആകാശത്തിലെ പെരുഞാറ തന്റെ കാലം അറിയുന്നു; കുറുപ്രാവും മീവല്പക്ഷിയും കൊക്കും മടങ്ങിവരവിന്നുള്ള സമയം അനുസരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ജനമോ യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായം അറിയുന്നില്ല.

7. If you stop doing these things, I will allow you to continue to live in this land which I gave to your ancestors as a lasting possession.

8. ഞങ്ങള് ജ്ഞാനികള്; യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെ കള്ളയെഴുത്തുകോല് അതിനെ വ്യാജമാക്കിത്തീര്ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. ''But just look at you! You are putting your confidence in a false belief that will not deliver you.

9. ജ്ഞാനികള് ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചു പിടിപെട്ടുപോകും; അവര് യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ധിക്കരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; അവര്ക്കും എന്തൊരു ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളു?

9. You steal. You murder. You commit adultery. You lie when you swear on oath. You sacrifice to the god Baal. You pay allegiance to other gods whom you have not previously known.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ അന്യന്മാര്ക്കും അവരുടെ നിലങ്ങളെ അവയെ കൈവശമാക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കും; അവരൊക്കെയും ആബാലവൃദ്ധം ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹികള് ആകുന്നു; പ്രവാചകന്മാരും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഒരുപോലെ വ്യാജം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

10. Then you come and stand in my presence in this temple I have claimed as my own and say, 'We are safe!' You think you are so safe that you go on doing all those hateful sins!

11. സമാധാനം ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കെ സമാധാനം സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവര് എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ മുറിവിന്നു ലഘുവായി ചികിത്സിക്കുന്നു.

11. Do you think this temple I have claimed as my own is to be a hideout for robbers? You had better take note! I have seen for myself what you have done! says the LORD.

12. മ്ളേച്ഛത പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടിവരും; അവര് ഒരിക്കലും ലജ്ജിച്ചിട്ടില്ല നാണം അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുമില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു വീഴുന്നവരുടെ ഇടയില് അവര് വീണുപോകും; അവരുടെ ദര്ശനകാലത്തു അവര് ഇടറി വീഴും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

12. So, go to the place in Shiloh where I allowed myself to be worshiped in the early days. See what I did to it because of the wicked things my people Israel did.

13. ഞാന് അവരെ സംഹരിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയില് മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തില് അത്തിപ്പഴം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ഇലയും വാടിപ്പോകും; അവരെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാന് നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. You also have done all these things, says the LORD, and I have spoken to you over and over again. But you have not listened! You have refused to respond when I called you to repent!

14. നാം അനങ്ങാതിരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു? കൂടിവരുവിന് ; നാം ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ചെന്നു അവിടെ നശിച്ചുപോക; നാം യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മെ നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിച്ചു നശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. So I will destroy this temple which I have claimed as my own, this temple that you are trusting to protect you. I will destroy this place that I gave to you and your ancestors, just like I destroyed Shiloh.

15. നാം സമാധാനത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് ഗുണവും വന്നില്ല; രോഗശമനത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് ഇതാ, ഭീതി!

15. And I will drive you out of my sight just like I drove out your relatives, the people of Israel.''

16. അവന്റെ കുതിരകളുടെ ചിറാലിപ്പു ദാനില്നിന്നു കേള്ക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ ആണ്കുതിരകളുടെ മദഗര്ജ്ജനംകൊണ്ടു ദേശമൊക്കെയും വിറെക്കുന്നു; അവ വന്നു ദേശത്തെയും അതിലുള്ള സകലത്തെയും നഗരത്തെയും അതില് വസിക്കുന്നവരെയും വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയും.

16. Then the LORD said, 'As for you, Jeremiah, do not pray for these people! Do not cry out to me or petition me on their behalf! Do not plead with me to save them, because I will not listen to you.

17. ഞാന് സര്പ്പങ്ങളെയും മന്ത്രം ഫലിക്കാത്ത അണലികളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അയക്കും; അവ നിങ്ങളെ കടിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

17. Do you see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

18. അയ്യോ, എന്റെ സങ്കടത്തില് എനിക്കു ആശ്വാസം വന്നെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; എന്റെ മനസ്സു വല്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

18. Children are gathering firewood, fathers are building fires with it, and women are mixing dough to bake cakes to offer to the goddess they call the Queen of Heaven. They are also pouring out drink offerings to other gods. They seem to do all this just to trouble me.

19. കേട്ടോ, ദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്നു എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിസീയോനില് യഹോവ വസിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? അവളുടെ രാജാവു അവിടെ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടും അന്യദേശങ്ങളിലെ മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികള്കൊണ്ടും എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതെന്തിന്നു?

19. But I am not really the one being troubled!' says the LORD. 'Rather they are bringing trouble on themselves to their own shame!

20. കൊയ്ത്തുകഴിഞ്ഞു, ഫലശേഖരവും കഴിഞ്ഞു; നാം രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുമില്ല.

20. So,' the Lord GOD says, 'my raging fury will be poured out on this land. It will be poured out on human beings and animals, on trees and crops. And it will burn like a fire which cannot be extinguished.'

21. എന്റെ ജനത്തിന് പുത്രിയുടെ മുറിവു നിമിത്തം ഞാനും മുറിപ്പെട്ടു ദുഃഖിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നു; സ്തംഭനം എന്നെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

21. The LORD said to the people of Judah, 'The LORD God of Israel who rules over all says: 'You might as well go ahead and add the meat of your burnt offerings to that of the other sacrifices and eat it, too!

22. ഗിലെയാദില് സുഗന്ധതൈലം ഇല്ലയോ? അവിടെ വൈദ്യന് ഇല്ലയോ? എന്റെ ജനത്തിന് പുത്രിക്കു രോഗശമനം വരാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു?

22. Consider this: When I spoke to your ancestors after I brought them out of Egypt, I did not merely give them commands about burnt offerings and sacrifices.
