1. യഹോവേ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു ഭവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഔര്ക്കേണമേ; ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു നേരിട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്ദ നോക്കേണമേ.

1. Yahweh, remember what has happened to us. Look, and see our disgrace!

2. ഞങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശം അന്യന്മാര്ക്കും ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകള് അന്യജാതിക്കാര്ക്കും ആയ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our houses to foreigners.

3. ഞങ്ങള് അനാഥന്മാരും അപ്പനില്ലാത്തവരും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ അമ്മമാര് വിധവമാരായ്തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. We have become orphans, fatherless; our mothers are widows.

4. ഞങ്ങളുടെ വെള്ളം ഞങ്ങള് വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങി കുടിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ വിറകു ഞങ്ങള് വിലകൊടുത്തു മേടിക്കുന്നു.

4. We must pay for the water we drink; our wood comes at a price.

5. ഞങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവര് ഞങ്ങളുടെ കഴുത്തില് എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് തളര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വിശ്രാമവുമില്ല.

5. We are closely pursued; we are tired, and no one offers us rest.

6. അപ്പം തിന്നു തൃപ്തരാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമ്യര്ക്കും അശ്ശൂര്യ്യര്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. We made a treaty with Egypt and with Assyria, to get enough food.

7. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് പാപം ചെയ്തു ഇല്ലാതെയായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങള് ചുമക്കുന്നു.

7. Our fathers sinned; they no longer exist, but we bear their punishment.

8. ദാസന്മാര് ഞങ്ങളെ ഭരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിപ്പാന് ആരുമില്ല.

8. Slaves rule over us; no one rescues [us] from their hands.

9. മരുഭൂമിയിലെ വാള്നിമിത്തം പ്രാണഭയത്തോടെ ഞങ്ങള് ആഹാരം ചെന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.

9. We secure our food at the risk of our lives because of the sword in the wilderness.

10. ക്ഷാമത്തിന്റെ കാഠിന്യം നിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങളുടെ ത്വക് അടുപ്പുപോലെ കറുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. Our skin is as hot as an oven from the ravages of hunger.

11. അവര് സീയോനില് സ്ത്രീകളെയും യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളില് കന്യകമാരെയും വഷളാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. Women are raped in Zion, virgins in the cities of Judah.

12. അവന് സ്വന്തകൈകൊണ്ടു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെ തൂക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; വൃദ്ധന്മാരുടെ മുഖം ആദരിച്ചതുമില്ല.

12. Princes are hung up by their hands; elders are shown no respect.

13. യൌവനക്കാര് തിരികല്ലു ചുമക്കുന്നു; ബാലന്മാര് വിറകുചുമടുംകൊണ്ടു വീഴുന്നു.

13. Young men labor at millstones; boys stumble under [loads of] wood.

14. വൃദ്ധന്മാരെ പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കലും യൌവനക്കാരെ സംഗീതത്തിന്നും കാണുന്നില്ല.

14. The elders have left the city gate, the young men, their music.

15. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയസന്തോഷം ഇല്ലാതെയായി; ഞങ്ങളുടെ നൃത്തം വിലാപമായ്തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. Joy has left our hearts; our dancing has turned to mourning.

16. ഞങ്ങളുടെ തലയിലെ കിരീടം വീണുപോയി; ഞങ്ങള് പാപം ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

16. The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned.

17. ഇതുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്നു രോഗം പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതുനിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണു മങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. Because of this, our heart is sick; because of these, our eyes grow dim:

18. സീയോന് പര്വ്വതം ശൂന്യമായി കുറുക്കന്മാര് അവിടെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ.

18. because of Mount Zion, which lies desolate [and has] jackals prowling in it.

19. യഹോവേ, നീ ശാശ്വതനായും നിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം തലമുറതലമുറയായും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

19. You, LORD, are enthroned forever; Your throne endures from generation to generation.

20. നീ സദാകാലം ഞങ്ങളെ മറക്കുന്നതും ദീര്ഘകാലം ഞങ്ങളെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

20. Why have You forgotten us forever, abandoned us for [our] entire lives?

21. യഹോവേ, ഞങ്ങള് മടങ്ങിവരേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ നിങ്കലേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തേണമേ; ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു പണ്ടത്തെപ്പോലെ ഒരു നല്ല കാലം വരുത്തേണമേ;

21. LORD, restore us to Yourself, so we may return; renew our days as in former times,

22. അല്ല, നീ ഞങ്ങളെ അശേഷം ത്യജിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നുവോ? ഞങ്ങളോടു നീ അതികഠിനമായി കോപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവോ?

22. unless You have completely rejected us and are intensely angry with us.
