1. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് ; യഹോവേക്കു ദേശനിവാസികളോടു ഒരു വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടു; ദേശത്തു സത്യവും ഇല്ല, ദയയും ഇല്ല, ദൈവപരിജ്ഞാനവുമില്ല.
വെളിപ്പാടു വെളിപാട് 6:10

1. Hear the word of Jehovah, ye children of Israel; for Jehovah hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.

2. അവര് ആണയിടുന്നു; ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നു; കുല ചെയ്യുന്നു; മോഷ്ടിക്കുന്നു; വ്യഭിചരിക്കുന്നു; വീടുമുറിക്കുന്നു; രക്തപാതകത്തോടു രക്തപാതകം കൂട്ടുന്നു.

2. There is nought but swearing and breaking faith, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery; they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

3. അതുകൊണ്ടു ദേശം ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ സകലനിവാസികളും വയലിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളും ക്ഷീണിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യങ്ങളും ഇല്ലാതെയാകുന്നു.

3. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

4. എങ്കിലും ആരും വാദിക്കരുതു; ആരും ശാസിക്കയും അരുതു; നിന്റെ ജനമോ, പുരോഹിതനോടു വാദിക്കുന്നവരെപ്പോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

4. Yet let no man strive, neither let any man reprove; for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.

5. അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ പകല് സമയത്തു ഇടറിവീഴും; പ്രവാചകനും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ രാത്രിയില് ഇടറിവീഴും; നിന്റെ അമ്മയെ ഞാന് നശിപ്പിക്കും.

5. And thou shalt stumble in the day, and the prophet also shall stumble with thee in the night; and I will destroy thy mother.

6. പരിജ്ഞാനമില്ലായ്കയാല് എന്റെ ജനം നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; പരിജ്ഞാനം ത്യജിക്കകൊണ്ടു നീ എനിക്കു പുരോഹിതനായിരിക്കാതവണ്ണം ഞാന് നിന്നെയും ത്യജിക്കും; നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാനും നിന്റെ മക്കളെ മറെക്കും.

6. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.

7. അവര് പെരുകുന്തോറും എന്നോടു ഏറെ പാപം ചെയ്തു; ഞാന് അവരുടെ മഹത്വത്തെ ലജ്ജയായി മാറ്റും.

7. As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me: I will change their glory into shame.

8. അവര് എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പാപംകൊണ്ടു ഉപജീവനം കഴിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ അകൃത്യത്തിന്നായിട്ടു ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

8. They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity.

9. ആകയാല് ജനത്തിന്നും പുരോഹിതന്നും ഒരുപോലെ ഭവിക്കും. ഞാന് അവരുടെ നടപ്പു അവരോടു സന്ദര്ശിച്ചു അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അവര്ക്കും പകരം കൊടുക്കും.

9. And it shall be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will requite them their doings.

10. അവര് ഭക്ഷിച്ചാലും തൃപ്തി പ്രാപിക്കയില്ല; അവര് സ്ത്രീസംഗംചെയ്താലും പെരുകുകയില്ല; യഹോവയെ കൂട്ടാക്കുന്നതു അവര് വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

10. And they shall eat, and not have enough; they shall play the harlot, and shall not increase; because they have left off taking heed to Jehovah.

11. പരസംഗവും വീഞ്ഞും പുതിയ വീഞ്ഞും ബുദ്ധിയെ കെടുത്തുകളയുന്നു.

11. Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the understanding.

12. എന്റെ ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ മരത്തോടു അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വടി അവരോടു ലക്ഷണം പറയുന്നു; പരസംഗമോഹം അവരെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തെ വിട്ടു പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

12. My people ask counsel at their stock, and their staff declareth unto them; for the spirit of whoredom hath caused them to err, and they have played the harlot, [departing] from under their God.

13. അവര് പര്വ്വതശിഖരങ്ങളില് ബലി കഴിക്കുന്നു; കുന്നുകളില് അവര് നല്ല തണലുള്ള കരുവേലത്തിന്റെയും പുന്നയുടെയും ആലിന്റെയും കീഴെ ധൂപം കാട്ടുന്നു; അവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാര് പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രഭാര്യമാര് വ്യഭിചരിക്കുന്നു.

13. They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and terebinths, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters play the harlot, and your brides commit adultery.

14. നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാര് പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്നതും നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രഭാര്യമാര് വ്യഭിചരിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നതും ഞാന് സന്ദര്ശിക്കയില്ല; അവര് തന്നേ വേശ്യാസ്ത്രീകളോടു കൂടെ വേറിട്ടുപോകയും ദേവദാസികളോടുകൂടെ ബലികഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ ബുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത ജനം നശിച്ചുപോകും.

14. I will not punish your daughters when they play the harlot, nor your brides when they commit adultery; for [the men] themselves go apart with harlots, and they sacrifice with the prostitutes; and the people that doth not understand shall be overthrown.

15. യിസ്രായേലേ, നി പരസംഗം ചെയ്താലും യെഹൂദാ അപരാധം ചെയ്യാതെയിരിക്കട്ടെ; നിങ്ങള് ഗില്ഗാലിലേക്കു ചെല്ലരുതു; ബേത്ത്--ആവെനിലേക്കു കയറിപ്പോകരുതു; യഹോവയാണ എന്നു സത്യം ചെയ്കയുമരുതു.

15. Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-aven, nor swear, As Jehovah liveth.

16. യിസ്രായേല് ദുശ്ശാഠ്യമുള്ള പശുക്കിടാവിനെപ്പോലെ ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിച്ചാല് യഹോവ അവരെ ഒരു വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തു കുഞ്ഞാടിനെപ്പോലെ മേയിക്കുമോ?

16. For Israel hath behaved himself stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer: now will Jehovah feed them as a lamb in a large place.

17. എഫ്രയീം വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടാളിയാകുന്നു; അവനെ വിട്ടുകളക.

17. Ephraim is joined to idols; let him alone.

18. മദ്യപാനം കഴിയുമ്പോള് അവര് പരസംഗം ചെയ്യും; അവരുടെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ലജ്ജയില് അത്യന്തം ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു.

18. Their drink is become sour; they play the harlot continually; her rulers dearly love shame.

19. കാറ്റു അവളെ ചിറകുകൊണ്ടു ചുറ്റിപ്പിടിക്കുന്നു. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ബലികള്ഹേതുവായി ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും.

19. The wind hath wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be put to shame because of their sacrifices.
