1. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളേ, നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും ഞാന് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച സര്വ്വവംശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് !

1. Hear ye this word, which Yahweh hath spoken, concerning you, ye sons of Israel, concerning the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt saying:

2. ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലവംശങ്ങളിലുംവെച്ചു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ മാത്രം തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങളില് സന്ദര്ശിക്കും.

2. Only you, have I acknowledged, of all the families of the ground, For this cause, will I visit upon you all your iniquities.

3. രണ്ടുപേര് തമ്മില് ഒത്തിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഒരുമിച്ചു നടക്കുമോ? ഇരയില്ലാതിരിക്കുമ്പോള് സിംഹം കാട്ടില് അലറുമോ?

3. Can two walk together, except they meet?

4. ഒന്നിനെയും പിടിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ ബാലസിംഹം ഗുഹയില്നിന്നു ഒച്ച പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമോ?

4. Will a lion roar in the forest, when, prey, he hath none? Will a young lion utter his voice out of his den, when he hath made no capture?

5. കുടുക്കില്ലാതിരിക്കെ പക്ഷി നിലത്തെ കണിയില് അകപ്പെടുമോ? ഒന്നും പിടിപെടാതെ കണി നിലത്തുനിന്നു പൊങ്ങുമോ?

5. Will a bird fall upon a net to the earth, when there is no, snare, for it? Will a net rise front the ground, when it hath, captured nothing?

6. നഗരത്തില് കാഹളം ഊതുമ്പോള് ജനം പേടിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ? യഹോവ വരുത്തീട്ടല്ലാതെ നഗരത്തില് അനര്ത്ഥം ഭവിക്കുമോ?

6. Or a horn be blown in a city, and, a people, not tremble? Or calamity happen in a city, and, Yahweh, not have wrought with effect?

7. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു പ്രവാചകന്മാരായ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്ക്കും തന്റെ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്താതെ ഒരു കാര്യവും ചെയ്കയില്ല.

7. Surely My Lord Yahweh, will do, nothing, except he have disclosed his secret unto his servants, the prophets!

8. സിംഹം ഗര്ജ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ആര് ഭയപ്പെടാതിരിക്കും? യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ആര് പ്രവചിക്കാതിരിക്കും?

8. A lion, hath roared, Who will not fear? My Lord Yahweh, hath spoken, Who can forbear to prophesy?

9. ശമര്യ്യാപര്വ്വതങ്ങളില് വന്നുകൂടി അതിന്റെ നടുവിലുള്ള മഹാ കലഹങ്ങളെയും അതിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേയുള്ള പീഡനങ്ങളെയും നോക്കുവിന് എന്നു അസ്തോദിലെ അരമനകളിന്മേലും മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ അരമനകളിന്മേലും ഘോഷിച്ചുപറവിന് !

9. Announce it over the palaces in Ashdod, and over the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say ye Gather yourselves together upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold ye the great disorders in the midst thereof, and the oppressed within her.

10. തങ്ങളുടെ അരമനകളില് അന്യായവും സാഹസവും സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നവര് ന്യായം പ്രവര്ത്തിപ്പാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

10. Therefore do they not know how to do right, Declareth Yahweh, who are treasuring up violence and spoil in their palaces.

11. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുദേശത്തിന്നു ചുറ്റും ഒരു വൈരി ഉണ്ടാകും; അവന് നിന്റെ ഉറപ്പു നിങ്കല്നിന്നു താഴ്ത്തിക്കളയും; നിന്റെ അരമനകള് കൊള്ളയായ്യ്തീരും.

11. Therefore Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, An adversary! Yea round about the land, and he who shall bring down, from thee, thy strength, And spoiled shall be thy palaces.

12. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഒരു ഇടയന് രണ്ടു കാലോ ഒരു കാതോ സിംഹത്തിന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു വലിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ശമര്യ്യയില് കിടക്കയുടെ കോണിലും പട്ടുമെത്തമേലും ഇരിക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടും.

12. Thus, saith Yahweh, Just as a shepherd rescueth, out of the mouth of the lion, a couple of shankbones, or the tip of an ear, so, shall be rescued the sons of Israel, who are tarrying in Samaria, in the corner of the divan, and on the damask of the luxurious couch.

13. നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടു യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹത്തോടു സാക്ഷീകരിപ്പിന് എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

13. Hear ye and bear witness, throughout the house of Jacob, Commandeth My Lord, Yahweh, God of hosts:

14. ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ അതിക്രമങ്ങള്നിമിത്തം അവനെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കുന്ന നാളില് ബലിപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകള് മുറിഞ്ഞു നിലത്തു വീഴുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് ബേഥേലിലെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെയും സന്ദര്ശിക്കും. ഞാന് ഹേമന്തഗൃഹവും ഗ്രീഷ്മഗൃഹവും ഒരുപോലെ തകര്ത്തുകളയും; ദന്തഭവനങ്ങള് നശിച്ചുപോകും; പലവീടുകളും മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

14. That, in the day I visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, then will I punish, concerning the altars of Bethel, So shall the horns of the altar, be broken off, and they shall fall to the ground;
