1. This is a prophecy about Ninveh, the book of the vision of Nachum the Elkoshi:

2. ദൈവം തീക്ഷണതയുള്ളവനും യഹോവ പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യുന്നവനും ആകുന്നു; യഹോവ പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യുന്നവനും ക്രോധപൂര്ണ്ണനുമാകുന്നു; യഹോവ തന്റെ വൈരികളോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്കയും തന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള്ക്കായി കോപം സംഗ്രഹിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

2. ADONAI is a jealous and vengeful God. ADONAI avenges; he knows how to be angry. ADONAI takes vengeance on his foes and stores up wrath for his enemies.

3. യഹോവ ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയും മഹാശക്തിയുമുള്ളവന് ; അവന് ഒരിക്കലും ശിക്ഷിക്കാതെ വിടുകയില്ല; യഹോവയുടെ വഴി ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റിലും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റിലും ഉണ്ടു; മേഘം അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കീഴിലെ പൊടിയാകുന്നു.

3. ADONAI is slow to anger, but great in power; and he does not leave the guilty unpunished. ADONAI's path is in the whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

4. He rebukes the sea and leaves it dry, he dries up all the rivers. Bashan and the Karmel languish; the flower of the L'vanon withers.

5. അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് പര്വ്വതങ്ങള് കുലുങ്ങുന്നു; കുന്നുകള് ഉരുകിപ്പോകുന്നു; അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് ഭൂമി ഞെട്ടിപ്പോകുന്നു; മഹീതലവും അതിലെ സകലനിവാസികളും തന്നേ.

5. The mountains quake before him, and the hills dissolve; the earth collapses in his presence, the world and everyone living in it.

6. അവന്റെ ക്രോധത്തിന് മുമ്പില് ആര് നിലക്കും? അവന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപത്തിങ്കല് ആര് നിവിര്ന്നുനിലക്കും? അവന്റെ ക്രോധം തീപോലെ ചൊരിയുന്നു; പാറകള് അവനാല് പിളര്ന്നുപോകുന്നു.

6. Who can withstand his fury? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, the rocks broken to pieces before him.

7. യഹോവ നല്ലവനും കഷ്ടദിവസത്തില് ശരണവും ആകുന്നു; തങ്കല് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവരെ അവന് അറിയുന്നു.

7. ADONAI is good, a stronghold in time of trouble; he takes care of those who take refuge in him.

8. എന്നാല് കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്നോരു പ്രവാഹം കൊണ്ടു അവന് അതിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു മുടിവു വരുത്തും; തന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ അവന് അന്ധകാരത്തില് പിന്തുടരുന്നു.

8. But with an overwhelming flood he will make an end of [[Ninveh's]] place, and darkness will pursue his enemies.

9. What are you planning against ADONAI? He is making an end [[of it]]; trouble will not arise a second time.

10. അവര് കൂടിപ്പിണഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന മുള്ളുപോലെ ആയാലും തങ്ങളുടെ മദ്യപാനത്തില് മദ്യപിച്ചിരുന്നാലും അവര് മുഴുവനും ഉണങ്ങിയ താളടിപോലെ തീക്കു ഇരയായിത്തീരും.

10. For like men drunk with liquor, they will be burned up like tangled thorns, like straw completely dry.

11. യഹോവേക്കു വിരോധമായി ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കയും നിസ്സാരത്വം ആലോചിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് നിന്നില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. Out of you, [[Ninveh,]] he came, one who plots evil against ADONAI, who counsels wickedness.

12. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅവര് പൂര്ണ്ണ ശക്തന്മാരും അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ അനേകരും ആയിരുന്നാലും അവര് അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടുകയും അവന് കഴിഞ്ഞുപോകയും ചെയ്യും. ഞാന് നിന്നെ താഴ്ത്തി എങ്കിലും ഇനി നിന്നെ താഴ്ത്തുകയില്ല.

12. Here is what ADONAI says: 'Though they be many and strong, they will be cut down, they will pass; and though I have made you suffer, I will make you suffer no more.

13. ഇപ്പോഴോ ഞാന് അവന്റെ നുകം നിന്റെമേല്നിന്നു ഒടിച്ചുകളയും നിന്റെ ബന്ധനങ്ങള് അറുത്തുകളകയും ചെയ്യും.

13. Now I will break his yoke from your necks and snap the chains that bind you.

14. എന്നാല് യഹോവ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുനിന്റെ പേരുള്ള സന്തതി ഇനി ഒട്ടു ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; കൊത്തിയുണ്ടാക്കിയ വിഗ്രഹത്തെയും വാര്ത്തുണ്ടാക്കിയ ബിംബത്തെയും നിന്റെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തില് നിന്നു ഞാന് ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും; നീ നിസ്സാരനായിരിക്കയാല് ഞാന് നിന്റെ ശവകൂഴി കുഴിക്കും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. ADONAI gave this order concerning you: you will have no descendants to bear your name; from the house of your god I will cut off carved image and cast metal image; I will prepare your grave, because you are worthless.'
