1. ഞാന് കൊത്തളത്തില്നിന്നു കാവല്കാത്തുകൊണ്ടുഅവന് എന്നോടു എന്തരുളിച്ചെയ്യും എന്നും എന്റെ ആവലാധിസംബന്ധിച്ചു ഞാന് എന്തുത്തരം പറയേണ്ടു എന്നും കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു ദൃഷ്ടിവേക്കും.

1. I will stand upon my watch, and fix my foot upon the tower: and I will watch, to see what will be said to me, and what I may answer to him that reproveth me.

2. യഹോവ എന്നോടു ഉത്തരം അരുളിയതുനീ ദര്ശനം എഴുതുക; ഔടിച്ചു വായിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അതു പലകയില് തെളിവായി വരെക്കുക.

2. And the Lord answered me, and said: Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables: that he that readeth it may run over it.

3. ദര്ശനത്തിന്നു ഒരു അവധിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു സമാപ്തിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; സമയം തെറ്റുകയുമില്ല; അതു വൈകിയാലും അതിന്നായി കാത്തിരിക്ക; അതു വരും നിശ്ചയം; താമസിക്കയുമില്ല.

3. For as yet the vision is far off, and it shall appear at the end, and shall not lie: if it make any delay, wait for it: for it shall surely come, and it shall not be slack.

4. അവന്റെ മനസ്സു അവനില് അഹങ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു നേരുള്ളതല്ല; നീതിമാനോ വിശ്വാസത്താല് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും.

4. Behold, he that is unbelieving, his soul shall not be right in himself: but the just shall live in his faith.

5. വീഞ്ഞു വിശ്വാസപാതകനാകുന്നു; അഹമ്മതിയുള്ള പുരുഷന് നിലനില്ക്കയില്ല; അവന് പാതാളംപോലെ വിസ്താരമായി വായ് പിളര്ക്കുംന്നു; മരണംപോലെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടാതെയുമിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് സകലജാതികളെയും തന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൂട്ടി, സകലവംശങ്ങളെയും തന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചേര്ക്കുംന്നു.

5. And as wine deceiveth him that drinketh it: so shall the proud man be, and he shall not be honoured: who hath enlarged his desire like hell: and is himself like death, and he is never satisfied: but will gather together unto him all nations, and heap together unto him all people.

6. അവര് ഒക്കെയും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒരു സദൃശവും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പരിഹാസമായുള്ളോരു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും ചൊല്ലി; തന്റെതല്ലാത്തതു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കയും--എത്രത്തോളം?--പണയപണ്ടം ചുമന്നു കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം എന്നു പറകയില്ലയോ?

6. Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a dark speech concerning him: and it shall be said: Woe to him that heapeth together that which is not his own? how long also doth he load himself with thick clay?

7. നിന്റെ കടക്കാര് പെട്ടെന്നു എഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും നിന്നെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിക്കുന്നവര് ഉണരുകയും നീ അവര്ക്കും കൊള്ളയായ്തീരുകയും ഇല്ലയോ?

7. Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee: and they be stirred up that shall tear thee, and thou shalt be a spoil to them?

8. നീ പലജാതികളോടും കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ജാതികളില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരൊക്കെയും മനുഷ്യരുടെ രക്തംനിമിത്തവും നീ ദേശത്തോടും നഗരത്തോടും അതിന്റെ സകലനിവാസികളോടും ചെയ്ത സാഹസം നിമിത്തവും നിന്നോടും കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്യും.

8. Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all that shall be left of the people shall spoil thee: because of men's blood, and for the iniquity of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

9. അനര്ത്ഥത്തില്നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഉയരത്തില് കൂടുവെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നുവേണ്ടി ദുരാദായം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

9. Woe to him that gathereth together an evil covetousness to his house, that his nest may be on high, and thinketh he may be delivered out of the hand of evil.

10. പലജാതികളെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതിനാല് നീ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നു ലജ്ജ നിരൂപിച്ചു നിന്റെ സ്വന്ത പ്രാണനോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. Thou hast devised confusion to thy house, thou hast cut off many people, and thy soul hath sinned.

11. ചുവരില്നിന്നു കല്ലു നിലവിളിക്കയും മരപ്പണിയില്നിന്നു തുലാം ഉത്തരം പറകയും ചെയ്യുമല്ലോ.

11. For the stone shall cry out of the wall: and the timber that is between the joints of the building, shall answer.

12. രക്തപാതകംകൊണ്ടു പട്ടണം പണിയുകയും നീതികേടുകൊണ്ടു നഗരം സ്ഥാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

12. Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and prepareth a city by iniquity.

13. ജാതികള് തീക്കു ഇരയാകുവാന് അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നതും വംശങ്ങള് വെറുതെ തളര്ന്നുപോകുന്നതും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ഹിതത്താല് അല്ലയോ?

13. Are not these things from the Lord of hosts? for the people shall labour in a great fire: and the nations in vain, and they shall faint.

14. വെള്ളം സമുദ്രത്തില് നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഭൂമി യഹോവയുടെ മഹത്വത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താല് പൂര്ണ്ണമാകും.

14. For the earth shall be filled, that men may know the glory of the Lord, as waters covering the sea.

15. കൂട്ടുകാരുടെ നഗ്നത കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര്ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കയും നഞ്ചു കൂട്ടിക്കലര്ത്തി ലഹരിപിടിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

15. Woe to him that giveth drink to his friend, and presenteth his gall, and maketh him drunk, that he may behold his nakedness.

16. നിനക്കു മഹത്വംകൊണ്ടല്ല, ലജ്ജകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ പൂര്ത്തിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നീയും കുടിക്ക; നിന്റെ അഗ്രചര്മ്മം അനാവൃതമാക്കുക; യഹോവയുടെ വലങ്കയ്യിലെ പാനപാത്രം നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരും; മഹത്വത്തിന്നു പകരം നിനക്കു അവമാനം ഭവിക്കും.

16. Thou art filled with shame instead of glory: drink thou also, and fall fast asleep: the cup of the right hand of the Lord shall compass thee, and shameful vomiting shall be on thy glory.

17. മനുഷ്യരുടെ രക്തവും ദേശത്തോടും നഗരത്തോടും അതിന്റെ സകലനിവാസികളോടും ചെയ്ത സാഹസവും ഹേതുവായി ലെബാനോനോടു ചെയ്ത ദ്രോഹവും മൃഗങ്ങളെ പേടിപ്പിച്ച സംഹാരവും നിന്നെ മൂടും.

17. For the iniquity of Libanus shall cover thee, and the ravaging of beasts shall terrify them because of the blood of men, and the iniquity of the land, and of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

18. പണിക്കാരന് ഒരു ബിംബത്തെ കൊത്തിയുണ്ടാക്കുവാന് അതിനാലോ, പണിക്കാരന് വ്യാജം ഉപദേശിക്കുന്ന വാര്പ്പുവിഗ്രഹത്തില് ആശ്രയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഊമ മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് അതിനാലോ എന്തു പ്രയോജനം ഉള്ളു?
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 12:2

18. What doth the graven thing avail, because the maker thereof hath graven it, a molten, and a false image? because the forger thereof hath trusted in a thing of his own forging, to make dumb idols.

19. മരത്തോടുഉണരുക എന്നും ഊമക്കല്ലിനോടുഎഴുന്നേല്ക്ക എന്നും പറയുന്നവന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അതു ഉപദേശിക്കുമോ? അതു പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും പൊതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ഉള്ളില് ശ്വാസം ഒട്ടും ഇല്ലല്ലോ.
1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 12:2

19. Woe to him that saith to wood: Awake: to the dumb stone: Arise: can it teach? Behold, it is laid over with gold, and silver, and there is no spirit in the bowels thereof.

20. എന്നാല് യഹോവ തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില് ഉണ്ടു; സര്വ്വ ഭൂമിയും അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് മൌനമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

20. But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
