1. അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ സര്വ്വസഭയും ഒന്നാം മാസം സീന് മരുഭൂമിയില് എത്തി, ജനം കാദേശില് പാര്ത്തു; അവിടെ വെച്ചു മിര്യ്യാം മരിച്ചു; അവിടെ അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

1. And the children of Israel came with the whole multitude into the desert of Zin in the first moneth, and the people abode at Cades: And there died Miriam, and was buryed there.

2. ജനത്തിന്നു കുടിപ്പാന് വെള്ളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; അപ്പോള് അവര് മോശെക്കും അഹരോന്നും വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടം കൂടി.

2. But there was no water for the multitude: and they gathered them selues together agaynst Moyses and Aaron.

3. ജനം മേശെയോടു കലഹിച്ചുഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര് യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് മരിച്ചപ്പോള് ഞങ്ങളും മരിച്ചുപോയിരുന്നു എങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു.

3. And the people chode with Moyses, and spake, saying: Woulde God that we had perished when our brethren dyed before the Lorde.

4. ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മൃഗങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ കിടന്നു ചാകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് യഹോവയുടെ സഭയെ ഈ മരുഭൂമിയില് കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു എന്തു?

4. Why haue ye brought the congregation of the Lorde into this wildernesse, that both we and our cattell shoulde dye in it?

5. ഈ വല്ലാത്ത സ്ഥലത്തു ഞങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് നിങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചതു എന്തിന്നു? ഇവിടെ വിത്തും അത്തിപ്പഴവും മുന്തിരിപ്പഴവും മാതളപ്പഴവും ഇല്ല; കുടിപ്പാന് വെള്ളവുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. Wherfore haue ye made vs to come vp out of Egypt, to bryng vs into this euyll place, which is no place of seede, nor of fygges, nor vines, nor pomgranates, neither is there any water to drynke?

6. എന്നാറെ മോശെയും അഹരോനും സഭയുടെ മുമ്പില് നിന്നു സമാഗമന കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കല് ചെന്നു കവിണ്ണുവീണു; യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു അവര്ക്കും പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി.

6. And Moyses and Aaron went from the presence of the congregation, vnto the doore of the tabernacle of the congregation, and fel vpon their faces, and the glorie of the Lorde appeared vnto them.

7. യഹോവ മോശെയോടുനിന്റെ വടി എടുത്തു നീയും സഹോദരനായ അഹരോനും സഭയെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവര് കാണ്കെ പാറയോടു കല്പിക്ക.

7. And the Lorde spake vnto Moyses, saying:

8. എന്നാല് അതു വെള്ളം തരും; പാറയില് നിന്നു അവര്ക്കും വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു ജനത്തിന്നും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികള്ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കേണം എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

8. Take the rodde, and gather thou and thy brother Aaron the congregation together, and speake vnto the rocke before their eyes, and it shall geue foorth his water: And thou shalt bryng them water out of the rocke, to geue the companie drynke, and their beastes also.

9. തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില്നിന്നു വടി എടുത്തു.

9. And Moyses toke the rodde from before the Lord, as he commaunded hym.

10. മോശെയും അഹരോനും പാറയുടെ അടുക്കല് സഭയെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവരോടുമത്സരികളേ, കേള്പ്പിന് ; ഈ പാറയില്നിന്നു ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കുവേണ്ടി വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. And Moyses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rocke, and [Moyses] sayde vnto them: Heare ye rebelles, must we fetch you water out of this rocke?

11. മോശെ കൈ ഉയര്ത്തി വടികൊണ്ടു പാറയെ രണ്ടു പ്രാവശ്യം അടിച്ചു; വളരെ വെള്ളം പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ജനവും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികളും കുടിച്ചു.

11. And Moyses lyft vp his hande, and with his rodde he smote the rocke two tymes, and the water came out aboundauntly, and the multitude dranke, and their beastes also.

12. പിന്നെ യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടുംനിങ്ങള് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് കാണ്കെ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് ഈ സഭയെ ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകയില്ല എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

12. And the Lorde spake vnto Moyses and Aaron: Because ye beleued me not, to sanctifie me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therfore ye shall not bryng this congregation into the lande which I haue geuen them.

13. ഇതു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് യഹോവയോടു കലഹിച്ചതും അവര് അവരില് ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുമായ കലഹജലം.

13. This is the water of strife, because the children of Israel stroue with ye Lorde, and he was sanctified in them.

14. അനന്തരം മോശെ കാദേശില്നിന്നു എദോംരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു പറയിച്ചതുനിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യിസ്രായേല് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു

14. And Moyses sent messengers from Cades vnto the kyng of Edom, thus sayeth thy brother Israel: Thou knowest all the trauayle that we haue had.

15. ഞങ്ങള്ക്കുണ്ടായ കഷ്ടതയൊക്കെയും നീ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് മിസ്രയീമില് പോയി ഏറിയ കാലം പാര്ത്തുമിസ്രയീമ്യര് ഞങ്ങളെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെയും പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു.

15. Our fathers went downe into Egypt, & we haue dwelt in Egypt a long tyme: and the Egyptians vexed vs and our fathers.

16. ഞങ്ങള് യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചപ്പോള് അവന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു ഒരു ദൂതനെ അയച്ചു ഞങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങള് നിന്റെ അതിരിങ്കലുള്ള പട്ടണമായ കാദേശില് എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. And when we cryed vnto the Lorde, he hearde our voyce, and sent an angell, and hath set vs vp out of Egypt: And beholde, we are in Cades, euen in the vttermost citie of thy border.

17. ഞങ്ങള് നിന്റെ ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാന് അനുവദിക്കേണമേ. ഞങ്ങള് വയലിലോ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലോ കയറുകയില്ല; കിണറ്റിലെവെള്ളം കുടിക്കയുമില്ല. ഞങ്ങള് രാജപാതയില്കൂടി തന്നേ നടക്കും;

17. Let vs passe I pray thee through thy countrey: but we wyll not go through the fieldes or vineyardes, neither wyll we drynke of the water of the fountaynes: we wyll go by the kynges hye way, and neither turne vnto the ryght hande nor to the left, vntyll we be past thy borders.

18. നിന്റെ അതിര് കഴിയുംവരെ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ തിരികയുമില്ല. എദോം അവനോടുനീ എന്റെ നാട്ടില്കൂടി കടക്കരുതുകടന്നാല് ഞാന് വാളുമായി നിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. And Edom aunswered hym: Thou shalt not go by me, lest I come out agaynst thee with the sworde.

19. അതിന്നു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് അവനോടുഞങ്ങള് പെരുവഴിയില്കൂടി പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളാം; ഞാനും എന്റെ കന്നുകാലിയും നിന്റെ വെള്ളം കുടിച്ചുപോയാല് അതിന്റെ വിലതരാം; കാല്നടയായി കടന്നു പോകേണമെന്നല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും എനിക്കു വേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. The children of Israel sayd vnto him, we wyll go by the beaten way: and if I and my cattell drynke of thy water, I wyll pay for it: I wyll but only (without any harme) go through on my feete.

20. അതിന്നു അവന് നീ കടന്നുപോകരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എദോം ബഹുസൈന്യത്തോടും ബലമുള്ള കയ്യോടുംകൂടെ അവന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

20. He aunswered: Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out agaynst hym with much people, and with a mightie power.

21. ഇങ്ങനെ എദോം തന്റെ അതിരില്കൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല. യിസ്രായേല് അവനെ വിട്ടു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി.

21. And thus Edom denied to geue Israel passage through his countrey: wherfore Israel turned away from hym.

22. പിന്നെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ സര്വ്വസഭയും കാദേശില്നിന്നു യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു ഹോര് പര്വ്വതത്തില് എത്തി.

22. And the children of Israel departed from Cades, and came vnto mount Hor, with all the congregation.

23. എദോംദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരിങ്കലുള്ള ഹോര്പര്വ്വതത്തില്വെച്ചു യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

23. And the Lorde spake vnto Moyses and Aaron in mount Hor, harde by the coast of the lande of Edom, saying.

24. അഹരോന് തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും; കലഹജലത്തിങ്കല് നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ കല്പന മറുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു അവന് കടക്കയില്ല.

24. Aaron shalbe gathered vnto his people: for he shall not come into the lande which I haue geuen vnto the children of Israel, because ye disobeyed my mouth at the water of strife.

25. അഹരോനെയും അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെയും കൂട്ടി അവരെ ഹോര്പര്വ്വതത്തില് കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു

25. Take Aaron and Eleazar his sonne, and bryng them vp into mount Hor.

26. അഹരോന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഊരി അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെ ധരിപ്പിക്കേണം; അഹരോന് അവിടെവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും.

26. And cause Aaron to put of his garmentes, and put them vpon Eleazar his sonne: and Aaron shalbe gathered vnto his people, and shall dye there.

27. യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ ചെയ്തു; സര്വ്വസഭയും കാണ്കെ അവര് ഹോര്പര്വ്വത്തില് കയറി.

27. And Moyses dyd as the Lorde commaunded: and they went vp into mount Hor, in the sight of all the multitude.

28. മോശെ അഹരോന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ഊരി അവന്റെ മകനായ എലെയാസാരിനെ ധരിപ്പിച്ചു; അഹരോന് അവിടെ പര്വ്വതത്തിന്റെ മുകളില്വെച്ചു മരിച്ചു; മോശെയും എലെയാസാരും പര്വ്വതത്തില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി വന്നു. അഹരോന് മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു സഭയെല്ലാം അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹം ഒക്കെയും അഹരോനെക്കുറിച്ചു മുപ്പതു ദിവസം വിലാപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു

28. And Moyses toke of Aarons clothes, and put them vpon Eleazar his sonne, and Aaron dyed there in the toppe of the mount: And Moyses and Eleazar came downe out of the mount.
