1. യേശു തന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചു തീര്ന്നശേഷം അതതു പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഉപദേശിപ്പാനും പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി.

1. And it came to passe that when Iesus had made an ende of commaunding his twelue disciples, hee departed thence to teache and to preach in their cities.

2. യോഹന്നാന് കാരാഗൃഹത്തില്വെച്ചു, ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടിട്ടു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അയച്ചു;

2. And when Iohn heard in the prison the woorkes of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, and sayde vnto him,

3. വരുവാനുള്ളവന് നീയോ, ഞങ്ങള് മറ്റൊരുവനെ കാത്തിരിക്കയോ എന്നു അവര് മുഖാന്തരം അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

3. Art thou he that shoulde come, or shall we looke for another?

4. യേശു അവരോടു“കുരുടര് കാണുന്നു; മുടന്തര് നടക്കുന്നു; കുഷ്ഠരോഗികള് ശുദ്ധരായിത്തീരുന്നു; ചെകിടര് കേള്ക്കുന്നു; മരിച്ചവര് ഉയിര്ക്കുംന്നു; ദരിദ്രരോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുന്നു

4. And Iesus answering, said vnto them, Goe, and shewe Iohn, what things ye heare, and see.

5. എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കയും കാണുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു യോഹന്നാനെ ചെന്നു അറിയിപ്പിന് .

5. The blinde receiue sight, and the halt doe walke: the lepers are clensed, and the deafe heare, the dead are raised vp, and the poore receiue the Gospel.

6. എന്നാല് എങ്കല് ഇടറിപ്പോകാത്തവന് എല്ലാം ഭാഗ്യവാന് ” എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

6. And blessed is he that shall not be offeded in me.

7. അവര് പോയ ശേഷം യേശു യോഹന്നാനെക്കുറിച്ചു പുരുഷാരത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങിയതു“നിങ്ങള് എന്തു കാണ്മാന് മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു പോയി? കാറ്റിനാല് ഉലയുന്ന ഔടയോ?

7. And as they departed, Iesus beganne to speake vnto the multitude, of Iohn, What went ye out into the wildernes to see? A reede shaken with the winde?

8. അല്ല, എന്തുകാണ്മാന് പോയി? മാര്ദ്ദവവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച മനുഷ്യനെയോ? മാര്ദ്ദവ വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കുന്നവര് രാജഗൃഹങ്ങളിലല്ലോ.

8. But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that weare soft clothing, are in Kings houses.

9. അല്ല, എന്തിന്നു പോയി? ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ കാണ്മാനോ? അതെ, പ്രവാചകനിലും മികെച്ചവനെ തന്നേ എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

9. But what went ye out to see? A Prophet? Yea, I say vnto you, and more then a Prophet.

10. “ഞാന് എന്റെ ദൂതനെ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി അയക്കുന്നു; അവന് നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിനക്കു വഴി ഒരുക്കും” എന്നു എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവന് അവന് തന്നേ.

10. For this is he of whom it is written, Beholde, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

11. സത്രീകളില് നിന്നു ജനിച്ചവരില് യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകനെക്കാള് വലിയവന് ആരും എഴുന്നേറ്റിട്ടില്ല; സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തില് ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയവനോ അവനിലും വലിയവന് എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

11. Verely I say vnto you, among them which are begotten of women, arose there not a greater then Iohn Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is the least in the kingdome of heauen, is greater then he.

12. യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകന്റെ നാളുകള് മുതല് ഇന്നേവരെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തെ ബലാല്ക്കാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ബലാല്ക്കാരികള് അതിനെ പിടിച്ചടക്കുന്നു.

12. And from the time of Iohn Baptist hitherto, the kingdome of heauen suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

13. സകല പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ന്യായപ്രമാണവും യോഹന്നാന് വരെ പ്രവചിച്ചു.

13. For all the Prophetes and the Lawe prophecied vnto Iohn.

14. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പരിഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില് വരുവാനുള്ള ഏലിയാവു അവന് തന്നേ.

14. And if ye will receiue it, this is that Elias, which was to come.

15. കേള്പ്പാന് ചെവിയുള്ളവര് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ.

15. He that hath eares to heare, let him heare.

16. എന്നാല് ഈ തലമുറയെ ഏതിനോടു ഉപമിക്കേണ്ടു? ചന്തസ്ഥലങ്ങളില് ഇരുന്നു ചങ്ങാതികളോടു

16. But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like vnto litle children which sit in the markets, and call vnto their fellowes,

17. ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കായി കുഴലൂതി, നിങ്ങള് നൃത്തംചെയ്തില്ല; ഞങ്ങള് വിലാപം പാടി, നിങ്ങള് മാറത്തടിച്ചില്ല; എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്ന കുട്ടികളോടു അതു തുല്യം.

17. And say, We haue piped vnto you, and ye haue not daunced, we haue mourned vnto you, and ye haue not lamented.

18. യോഹന്നാന് തിന്നുകയും കുടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാത്തവനായി വന്നു; അവന്നു ഭൂതമുണ്ടെന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നു.

18. For Iohn came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a deuill.

19. മുനഷ്യപുത്രന് തിന്നും കുടിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വന്നു; തിന്നിയും കുടിയനുമായ മനുഷ്യന് ; ചുങ്കക്കാരുടെയും പാപികളുടെയും സ്നേഹിതന് എന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനമോ തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളാല് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.”

19. The sonne of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Beholde a glutton and a drinker of wine, a friend vnto Publicanes and sinners: but wisedome is iustified of her children.

20. പിന്നെ അവന് തന്റെ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികള് മിക്കതും നടന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങള് മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടായ്കയാല് അവയെ ശാസിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി

20. Then began he to vpbraide the cities, wherein most of his great workes were done, because they repented not.

21. “കോരസീനേ, നിനക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; ബേത്ത് സയിദേ, നിനക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങളില് നടന്ന വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികള് സോരിലും സീദോനിലും നടന്നിരുന്നു എങ്കില് അവര് പണ്ടുതന്നേ രട്ടിലും വെണ്ണീറിലും മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.

21. Woe be to thee, Chorazin: Woe be to thee, Bethsaida: for if ye great workes, which were done in you, had bene done in Tyrus and Sidon, they had repented long agone in sackecloth and ashes.

22. എന്നാല് ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തില് നിങ്ങളെക്കാള് സോരിന്നും സീദോന്നും സഹിക്കാവതാകും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

22. But I say to you, It shalbe easier for Tyrus and Sidon at the day of iudgement, then for you.

23. നീയോ കഫര്ന്നഹൂമേ, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തോളം ഉയര്ന്നിരിക്കുമോ? നീ പാതാളംവരെ താണുപോകും; നിന്നില് നടന്ന വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികള് സൊദോമില് നടന്നിരുന്നു എങ്കില് അതു ഇന്നുവരെ നിലക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

23. And thou, Capernaum, which art lifted vp vnto heauen, shalt be brought downe to hell: for if the great workes, which haue bin done in thee, had bene done among them of Sodom, they had remained to this day.

24. എന്നാല് ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തില് നിന്നെക്കാള് സൊദോമ്യരുടെ നാട്ടിന്നു സഹിക്കാവതാകും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

24. But I say vnto you, that it shall be easier for them of the land of Sodom in the day of iudgement, then for thee.

25. ആ സമയത്തു തന്നേ യേശു പറഞ്ഞതുപിതാവേ, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിന്നും ഭൂമിക്കും കര്ത്താവായുള്ളോവേ, നീ ഇതു ജ്ഞാനികള്ക്കും വിവേകികള്ക്കും മറെച്ചു ശിശുക്കള്ക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു.

25. At that time Iesus answered, and saide, I giue thee thankes, O Father, Lord of heauen and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and men of vnderstanding, and hast opened them vnto babes.

26. അതേ, പിതാവേ, ഇങ്ങനെയല്ലോ നിനക്കു പ്രസാദം തോന്നിയതു.

26. It is so, O Father, because thy good pleasure was such.

27. എന്റെ പിതാവു സകലവും എങ്കല് ഭരമേല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പിതാവല്ലാതെ ആരും പുത്രനെ അറിയുന്നില്ല; പുത്രനും പുത്രന് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊടുപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനും അല്ലാതെ ആരും പിതാവിനെ അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

27. All things are giuen vnto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Sonne, but ye Father: neither knoweth any man ye Father, but the Sonne, and he to whom ye Sonne will reueile him.

28. അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നവരും ഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവരും ആയുള്ളോരേ, എല്ലാവരും എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവിന് ; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കും.

28. Come vnto me, all ye that are wearie and laden, and I will ease you.

29. ഞാന് സൌമ്യതയും താഴ്മയും ഉള്ളവന് ആകയാല് എന്റെ നുകം ഏറ്റുകൊണ്ടു എന്നോടു പഠിപ്പിന് ; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മാക്കള്ക്കു ആശ്വാസം കണ്ടത്തും.

29. Take my yoke on you, and learne of me that I am meeke and lowly in heart: and ye shall finde rest vnto your soules.

30. എന്റെ നുകം മൃദുവും എന്റെ ചുമടു ലഘുവും ആകുന്നു.”

30. For my yoke is easie, and my burden light.
