1. അനന്തരം യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു പരീശന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു

1. Then the scribes and Pharisees came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,

2. നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പൂര്വന്മാരുടെ സന്പ്രദായം ലംഘിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? അവര് ഭക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് കൈ കഴുകുന്നില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

2. Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.

3. അവന് അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്പ്രദായംകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് ദൈവകല്പന ലംഘിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

3. But answering He said to them, Why do you also transgress the command of God on account of your tradition?

4. അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നും അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ ദുഷിക്കുന്നവന് മരിക്കേണം എന്നും ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

4. For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and mother,' Ex. 20:12; Deut. 5:16 and, 'The one speaking evil of father or mother, by death let him die.' Ex. 21:17

5. നിങ്ങളോ ഒരുത്തന് അപ്പനോടു എങ്കിലും അമ്മയോടു എങ്കിലുംനിനക്കു എന്നാല് ഉപകാരമായി വരേണ്ടതു വഴിപാടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്

5. But you say, Whoever says to the father or the mother, A gift, whatever you would gain from me;

6. അവന് അപ്പനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറയുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്പ്രദായത്താല് നിങ്ങള് ദൈവവചനത്തെ ദുര്ബ്ബലമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. and in no way he honors his father or his mother. And you annulled the command of God on account of your tradition.

7. കപടഭക്തിക്കാരേ, നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു യെശയ്യാവു:”

7. Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, saying:

8. ഈ ജനം അധരം കൊണ്ടു എന്നെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം എന്നെ വിട്ടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 29:13

8. 'This people draws near to Me with their mouth, and with their lips honor Me; but their heart holds far off from Me.

9. മാനുഷകല്പനകളായ ഉപദേശങ്ങളെ അവര് പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വ്യര്ത്ഥമായി ഭജിക്കുന്നു' “എന്നിങ്ങനെ പ്രവചിച്ചതു ഒത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.”
യെശയ്യാ 29:13

9. But in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.' Isa. 29:13

10. പിന്നെ അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തെ അരികെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“കേട്ടു ഗ്രഹിച്ചു കൊള്വിന് .

10. And calling the crowd near, He said to them, Hear and understand:

11. മനുഷ്യന്നു അശുദ്ധിവരുത്തുന്നതു വായിക്കകത്തു ചെല്ലുന്നതു അല്ല, വായില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതത്രേ; അതു മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു.”

11. It is not the thing entering into the mouth that defiles the man, but the thing coming forth out of the mouth, this defiles the man.

12. അപ്പോള് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അടുക്കെ വന്നുപരീശന്മാര് ഈ വാക്കു കേട്ടു ഇടറിപ്പോയി എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

12. Then coming, the disciples said to Him, You know that hearing the Word, the Pharisees were offended?

13. അതിന്നു അവന് “സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവു നട്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത തൈഒക്കെയും വേരോടെ പറിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

13. But answering, He said, Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted shall be rooted up.

14. അവരെ വിടുവിന് ; അവര് കുരുടന്മാരായ വഴികാട്ടികള് അത്രേ; കുരുടന് കുരുടനെ വഴിനടത്തിയാല് ഇരുവരും കുഴിയില് വീഴും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

14. Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind; and if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.

15. പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുആ ഉപമ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു തെളിയിച്ചുതരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And answering, Peter said to Him, Explain this parable to us.

16. അതിന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതു“നിങ്ങളും ഇന്നുവരെ ബോധമില്ലാത്തവരോ?

16. But Jesus said, Are you also still without understanding?

17. വായിക്കകത്തു കടക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം വയറ്റില് ചെന്നിട്ടു മറപ്പുരയില് പോകുന്നു എന്നു ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

17. Do you not yet perceive that everything entering into the mouth goes into the belly, and is thrown out into the waste bowl?

18. വായില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതോ ഹൃദയത്തില്നിന്നു വരുന്നു; അതു മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നു.

18. But the things which come out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and these defile the man.

19. എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല് ദുശ്ചിന്ത, കുലപാതകം, വ്യഭിചാരം, പരസംഗം, മോഷണം, കള്ളസാക്ഷ്യം, ദൂഷണം എന്നിവ ഹൃദയത്തില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.

19. For out of the heart come forth reasonings, evil things, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, blasphemies.

20. മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നതു ഇതത്രേ; കഴുകാത്ത കൈകൊണ്ടു ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നതോ മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നില്ല.”

20. These things are the things defiling the man. But eating with unwashed hands does not defile the man.

21. യേശു അവിടം വിട്ടു, സോര് സീദോന് എന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്കു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

21. And going out from there, Jesus withdrew to the parts of Tyre and Sidon.

22. ആ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു കനാന്യ സ്ത്രീ വന്നു, അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, ദാവീദ് പുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ; എന്റെ മകള്ക്കു ഭൂതോപദ്രവം കഠിനമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And, behold, a woman of Canaan coming forth from those borders cried out to Him, saying, Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is badly demon-possessed.

23. അവന് അവളോടു ഒരു വാക്കും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞില്ല; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അടുക്കെ, വന്നുഅവള് നമ്മുടെ പിന്നാലെ നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു; അവളെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കേണമേ എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

23. But He did not answer her a word. And coming near, His disciples asked Him, saying, Send her away, for she cries out after us.

24. അതിന്നു അവന് “യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹത്തിലെ കാണാതെപോയ ആടുകളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കല്ലാതെ എന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

24. But answering, He said, I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25. എന്നാല് അവള് വന്നുകര്ത്താവേ, എന്നെ സഹായിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.
യോശുവ 5:14-15

25. But coming, she worshiped Him, saying, Lord, help me!

26. അവനോ“മക്കളുടെ അപ്പം എടുത്തു നായകൂട്ടികള്ക്കു ഇട്ടുകൊടുക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

26. But answering, He said, It is not good to take the bread of the children to throw it to the little dogs.

27. അതിന്നു അവള്അതേ, കര്ത്താവേ, നായക്കുട്ടികളും ഉടയവരുടെ മേശയില് നിന്നു വീഴുന്ന നുറുക്കുകള് തിന്നുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. But she said, Yes, Lord; for even the little dogs eat of the crumbs falling from the table of their lords.

28. യേശു അവളോടു“സ്ത്രീയേ, നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം വലിയതു; നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ നിനക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. ആ നാഴികമുതല് അവളുടെ മകള്ക്കു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.

28. Then answering, Jesus said to her, O woman, great is your faith; let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed from that hour.

29. യേശു അവിടെ നിന്നു യാത്രയായി ഗലീലക്കടലരികെ ചെന്നു മലയില് കയറി അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു.

29. And moving from there, Jesus came beside the Sea of Galilee. And going up into the mountain, He sat there.

30. വളരെ പുരുഷാരം മുടന്തര്, കുരുടര്, ഊമര്, കൂനര് മുതലായ പലരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കല് വെച്ചു; അവന് അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി;

30. And great crowds came to Him, having with them lame ones, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others. And they flung them down at the feet of Jesus. And He healed them;

31. ഊമര് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതും കൂനര് സൌഖ്യമാകുന്നതും മുടന്തര് നടക്കുന്നതും കുരുടര് കാണുന്നതും പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടിട്ടു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.
യെശയ്യാ 52:14

31. so that the crowds marveled, seeing dumb ones speaking, maimed ones sound, lame ones walking, and blind ones seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.

32. എന്നാല് യേശു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അടുക്കെവിളിച്ചു“ഈ പുരുഷാരം ഇപ്പോള് മൂന്നു നാളായി എന്നോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; അവര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു എനിക്കു മനസ്സലിവു തോന്നുന്നു; അവരെ പട്ടിണിയായി വിട്ടയപ്പാന് മനസ്സുമില്ല; അവര് വഴിയില്വെച്ചു തളര്ന്നുപോയേക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

32. But having called His disciples near, Jesus said, I am filled with pity on the crowd, because they already have remained with Me three days and have nothing they may eat. And I do not desire to send them away fasting, that they may not faint in the way.

33. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടുഇത്ര വലിയ പുരുഷാരത്തിന്നു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തുവാന് മതിയായ അപ്പം ഈ കാട്ടില് നമുക്കു എവിടെ നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. And His disciples said to Him, From where in a deserted place will come to us so many loaves as to satisfy so great a crowd?

34. “നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് എത്ര അപ്പം ഉണ്ടു” എന്നു യേശു ചോദിച്ചു; ഏഴു; കുറെ ചെറുമീനും ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

34. And Jesus said to them, How many loaves do you have? And they said, Seven, and a few small fish.

35. അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തോടു നിലത്തു ഇരിപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു,

35. And He ordered the crowds to recline on the ground.

36. ആ ഏഴു അപ്പവും മീനും എടുത്തു വാഴ്ത്തി നുറുക്കി ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ പക്കലും ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പുരുഷാരത്തിന്നും കൊടുത്തു.

36. And taking the seven loaves and the fish, giving thanks, He broke and gave to His disciples, and the disciples to the crowd.

37. എല്ലാവരും തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി; ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം അവര് ഏഴു വട്ടി നിറെച്ചെടുത്തു.

37. And all ate and were satisfied. And they took up the left over pieces, seven lunch baskets full.

38. തിന്നവരോ സ്ത്രീകളെയും പൈതങ്ങളെയും കൂടാതെ നാലായിരം പുരുഷന്മാര് ആയിരുന്നു.

38. And the ones eating were four thousand men, apart from women and children.

39. പിന്നെ പുരുഷാരത്തെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിട്ടു പടകില് കയറി മഗദാദേശത്തു എത്തി.

39. And sending away the crowds He went into the boat and came to the borders of Magdala.
