1. അനന്തരം അവര് യെരൂശലേമിനോടു സമീപിച്ചു ഒലിവുമലയരികെ ബേത്ത്ഫഗയില് എത്തിയപ്പോള്, യേശു രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അയച്ചു

1. And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and came unto Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

2. “നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എതിരെയുള്ള ഗ്രാമത്തില് ചെല്ലുവിന് ; അവിടെ കെട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പെണ്കഴുതയെയും അതിന്റെ കുട്ടിയെയും നിങ്ങള് ഉടനെ കാണും; അവയെ അഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് .

2. saying unto them, Go into the village that is over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose {cf15i them}, and bring {cf15i them} unto me.

3. നിങ്ങളോടു ആരാനും വല്ലതും പറഞ്ഞാല്കര്ത്താവിന്നു ഇവയെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറവിന് ; തല്ക്ഷണം അവന് അവയെ അയയക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And if any one say aught unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

4. “സീയോന് പുത്രിയോടുഇതാ, നിന്റെ രാജാവു സൌമ്യനായി കഴുതപ്പുറത്തും വാഹനമൃഗത്തിന്റെ കുട്ടിയുടെ പുറത്തും കയറി നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നു എന്നു പറവിന് ”

4. Now this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

5. എന്നിങ്ങനെ പ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിചെയ്തതിന്നു നിവൃത്തിവരുവാന് ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചു.

5. Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, Meek, and riding upon an ass, And upon a colt the foal of an ass.

6. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു യേശു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു,

6. And the disciples went, and did even as Jesus appointed them,

7. കഴുതയെയും കുട്ടിയെയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം അവയുടെ മേല് ഇട്ടു; അവന് കയറി ഇരുന്നു.

7. and brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their garments; and he sat thereon.

8. പുരുഷാരം മിക്കതും തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം വഴിയില് വിരിച്ചുമറ്റു ചിലര് വൃകഷങ്ങളില് നിന്നു കൊമ്പു വെട്ടി വഴിയില് വിതറി.

8. And the most part of the multitude spread their garments in the way; and others cut branches from the trees, and spread them in the way.

9. മുന്നും പിന്നും നടന്ന പുരുഷാരംദാവീദ് പുത്രന്നു ഹോശന്നാ; കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് വരുന്നവന് വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളില് ഹോശന്നാ എന്നു ആര്ത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

9. And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed {cf15i is} he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

10. അവന് യെരൂശലേമില് കടന്നപ്പോള് നഗരം മുഴുവനും ഇളകിഇവന് ആര് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, Who is this?

11. And the multitudes said, This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.

12. യേശു ദൈവലായത്തില് ചെന്നു, ദൈവാലയത്തില് വില്ക്കുന്നവരെയും കൊള്ളുന്നവരെയും എല്ലാം പുറത്താക്കി, പൊന് വാണിഭക്കാരുടെ മേശകളെയും പ്രാവുകളെ വിലക്കുന്നവരുടെ പീഠങ്ങളെയും മറിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു അവരോടു

12. And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold the doves;

13. “എന്റെ ആലയം പ്രാര്ത്ഥാനാലയം എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളോ അതിനെ കള്ളന്മാരുടെ ഗുഹയാക്കിത്തിര്ക്കുംന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. and he saith unto them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer: but ye make it a den of robbers.

14. And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple: and he healed them.

15. But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children that were crying in the temple and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were moved with indignation,

16. ഇവന് പറയുന്നതു കേള്ക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു. യേശു അവരോടു“ഉവ്വുശിശുക്കളുടെയും മുലകുടിക്കുന്നവരുടെയും വായില് നിന്നു നീ പുകഴ്ച ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു നിങ്ങള് ഒരിക്കലും വായിച്ചിട്ടല്ലയോ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

16. and said unto him, Hearest thou what these are saying? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea: did ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

17. പിന്നെ അവരെ വിട്ടു നഗരത്തില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ബെഥാന്യയില് ചെന്നു അവിടെ രാത്രി പാര്ത്തു.

17. And he left them, and went forth out of the city to Bethany, and lodged there.

18. രാവിലെ അവന് നഗരത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്ന സമയം വിശന്നിട്ടു വഴിയരികെ ഒരു അത്തിവൃക്ഷം കണ്ടു

18. Now in the morning as he returned to the city, he hungered.

19. അടുക്കെ ചെന്നു, അതില് ഇലയല്ലാതെ ഒന്നും കാണായ്കയാല്“ഇനി നിന്നില് ഒരുനാളും ഫലം ഉണ്ടാകാതെ പോകട്ടെ” എന്നു അതിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു; ക്ഷണത്തില് അത്തി ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

19. And seeing a fig tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only; and he saith unto it, Let there be no fruit from thee henceforward for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away.

20. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അതു കണ്ടാറെഅത്തി ഇത്ര ക്ഷണത്തില് ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.

20. And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, How did the fig tree immediately wither away?

21. അതിന്നു യേശു“നിങ്ങള് സംശയിക്കാതെ വിശ്വാസം ഉള്ളവരായാല് ഈ അത്തിയോടു ചെയ്തതു നിങ്ങളും ചെയ്യും; എന്നു മാത്രമല്ല, ഈ മലയോടുനീങ്ങി കടലിലേക്കു ചാടിപ്പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് അതും സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”

21. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do what is done to the fig tree, but even if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea, it shall be done.

22. നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയില് എന്തു യാചിച്ചാലും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ലഭിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

23. അവന് ദൈവാലയത്തില് ചെന്നു ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോള് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുനീ എന്തു അധികാരം കൊണ്ടു ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നു? ഈ അധികാരം നിനക്കു തന്നതു ആര് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

23. And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

24. യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു“ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു ഒരു വാക്കു ചോദിക്കും; അതു നിങ്ങള് എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞാല് എന്തു അധികാരം കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു പറയും.

24. And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one question, which if ye tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

25. യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനം എവിടെ നിന്നു? സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നോ മനുഷ്യരില് നിന്നോ?” അവര് തമ്മില് ആലോചിച്ചുസ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്, പിന്നെ നിങ്ങള് അവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു അവന് നമ്മോടു ചോദിക്കും;

25. The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven or from men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why then did ye not believe him?

26. മനുഷ്യരില് നിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലോ, നാം പുരുഷാരത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും യോഹന്നാനെ പ്രവാചകന് എന്നല്ലോ എണ്ണുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. But if we shall say, From men; we fear the multitude; for all hold John as a prophet.

27. അങ്ങനെ അവര് യേശുവിനോടുഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“എന്നാല് ഞാന് ഇതു എന്തു അധികാരംകൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നില്ല.”

27. And they answered Jesus, and said, We know not. He also said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

28. എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന് ഒന്നാമത്തവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുമകനേ ഇന്നു എന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തില് പോയി വേല ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

28. But what think ye? A man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in the vineyard.

29. എനിക്കു മനസ്സില്ല എന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു; എങ്കിലും പിന്നത്തേതില് അനുതപിച്ചു അവന് പോയി.

29. And he answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented himself, and went.

30. രണ്ടാമത്തെവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അവന് ചെന്നു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള്ഞാന് പോകാം അപ്പാ എന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു; പോയില്ലതാനും.

30. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I {cf15i go}, sir: and went not.

31. ഈ രണ്ടുപേരില് ആര് ആകുന്നു അപ്പന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്തതു?” ഒന്നാമത്തവന് എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“ചുങ്കക്കാരും വേശ്യമാരും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുമ്പായി ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നു എന്നു സത്യമായിട്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

31. Whether of the twain did the will of his father? They say, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, that the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

32. യോഹന്നാന് നീതിമാര്ഗ്ഗം ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുനിങ്ങള് അവനെ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല; എന്നാല് ചുങ്കക്കാരും വേശ്യമാരും അവനെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു; അതു കണ്ടിട്ടും നിങ്ങള് അവനെ വിശ്വസിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം പിന്നത്തേതില് അനുതപിച്ചില്ല.

32. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye saw it, did not even repent yourselves afterward, that ye might believe him.

33. മറ്റൊരു ഉപമ കേള്പ്പിന് . ഗൃഹസ്ഥനായോരു മനുഷ്യന് ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി, അതിന്നു വേലികെട്ടി, അതില് ചകൂ കുഴിച്ചിട്ടു ഗോപുരവും പണിതു; പിന്നെ കുടിയാന്മാരെ പാട്ടത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു പരദേശത്തുപോയി.
യെശയ്യാ 5:1-7

33. Hear another parable: There was a man that was a householder, which planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into another country.

34. ഫലകാലം സമീപിച്ചപ്പോള് തനിക്കുള്ള അനുഭവം വാങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് ദാസന്മാരെ കുടിയാന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു.

34. And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, to receive his fruits.

35. കുടിയാന്മാരോ അവന്റെ ദാസന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചു, ഒരുവനെ തല്ലി, ഒരുവനെ കൊന്നു, മറ്റൊരുവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു.

35. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

36. അവന് പിന്നെയും മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലും അധികം ദാസന്മാരെ അയച്ചു; അവരോടും അവര് അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തു.

36. Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them in like manner.

37. ഒടുവില് അവന് എന്റെ മകനെ അവര് ശങ്കിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, മകനെ അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു.

37. But afterward he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

38. മകനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു കുടിയാന്മാര്ഇവന് അവകാശി; വരുവിന് , നാം അവനെ കൊന്നു അവന്റെ അവകാശം കൈവശമാക്കുക എന്നു തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു,

38. But the husbandmen, when they saw the son, said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and take his inheritance.

39. അവനെ പിടിച്ചു തോട്ടത്തില്നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി കൊന്നു കളഞ്ഞു.

39. And they took him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him.

40. ആകയാല് മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഉടയവന് വരുമ്പോള് ആ കുടിയാന്മാരോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യും?”

40. When therefore the lord of the vineyard shall come, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

41. അവന് ആ വല്ലാത്തവരെ വല്ലാതെ നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു തക്കസമയത്തു അനുഭവം കൊടുക്കുന്ന വേറെ കുടിയാന്മാര്ക്കും തോട്ടം ഏല്പിക്കും എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will let out the vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

42. യേശു അവരോടു“'വീടുപണിയുന്നവര് തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞ കല്ലു മൂലക്കല്ലായി തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതു കര്ത്താവിനാല് സംഭവിച്ചു നമ്മുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയില് ആശ്ചര്യവുമായിരിക്കുന്നു' എന്നു നിങ്ങള് തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളില് ഒരിക്കലും വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 118:22-23

42. Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner: This was from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes?

43. അതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവ രാജ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല്നിന്നു എടുത്തു അതിന്റെ ഫലം കൊടുക്കുന്ന ജാതിക്കു കൊടുക്കും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

43. Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken away from you, and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

44. ഈ കല്ലിന്മേല് വീഴുന്നവന് തകര്ന്നുപോകും; അതു ആരുടെ മേല് എങ്കിലും വീണാല് അവനെ ധൂളിപ്പിക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

44. And he that falleth on this stone shall be broken to pieces: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust.

45. അവന്റെ ഉപമകളെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശരും കേട്ടിട്ടു, തങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു പറയന്നു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു,

45. And when the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

46. അവനെ പിടിപ്പാന് അന്വേഷിച്ചു; എന്നാല് പുരുഷാരം അവനെ പ്രവാചകന് എന്നു എണ്ണുകകൊണ്ടു അവരെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

46. And when they sought to lay hold on him, they feared the multitudes, because they took him for a prophet.
