1. ദൈവപുത്രനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭം

1. The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

2. “ഞാന് നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി എന്റെ ദൂതനെ അയക്കുന്നു; അവന് നിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കും.

2. As it is written in Isaiah the prophet: 'BEHOLD, I SEND MY MESSENGER AHEAD OF YOU, WHO WILL PREPARE YOUR WAY;

3. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കുവിന് അവന്റെ പാത നിരപ്പാക്കുവിന് എന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില് വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ വാക്കു” എന്നിങ്ങനെ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ യോഹന്നാന് വന്നു

3. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, 'MAKE READY THE WAY OF THE LORD, MAKE HIS PATHS STRAIGHT.''

4. മരുഭൂമിയില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചും പാപമോചനത്തിന്നായുള്ള മാനസാന്തര സ്നാനം പ്രസംഗിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് യെഹൂദ്യദേശം ഒക്കെയും യെരൂശലേമ്യര് എല്ലാവരും വന്നു പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞു യോര്ദ്ദാന് നദിയില് അവനാല് സ്നാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു.

4. John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

5. യോഹന്നാനോ ഒട്ടക രോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഉടുപ്പും അരയില് തോല് വാറും ധരിച്ചും വെട്ടുക്കിളിയും കാട്ടുതേനും ഉപജീവിച്ചും പോന്നു.

5. And all the country of Judea was going out to him, and all the people of Jerusalem; and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

6. എന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവന് എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറു കുനിഞ്ഞഴിപ്പാന് ഞാന് യോഗ്യനല്ല.

6. John was clothed with camel's hair and [wore] a leather belt around his waist, and his diet was locusts and wild honey.

7. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ വെള്ളത്തില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവനോ നിങ്ങളെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു അവന് പ്രസംഗിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. And he was preaching, and saying, 'After me One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to stoop down and untie the thong of His sandals.

8. ആ കാലത്തു യേശു ഗലീലയിലെ നസറെത്തില് നിന്നു വന്നു യോഹന്നാനാല് യോര്ദ്ദാനില് സ്നാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു.

8. 'I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.'

9. വെള്ളത്തില് നിന്നു കയറിയ ഉടനെ ആകാശം പിളരുന്നതും ആത്മാവു പ്രാവുപോലെ തന്റെ മേല് വരുന്നതും കണ്ടു

9. In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

10. നീ എന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രന് ; നിന്നില് ഞാന് പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദവും ഉണ്ടായി.

10. Immediately coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opening, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him;

11. അനന്തരം ആത്മാവു അവനെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു പോകുവാന് നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു.

11. and a voice came out of the heavens: 'You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.'

12. അവിടെ അവന് സാത്താനാല് പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടു നാല്പതു ദിവസം മരുഭൂമിയില് കൂട്ടു മൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; ദൂതന്മാര് അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു പോന്നു.

12. Immediately the Spirit impelled Him [to] [go] out into the wilderness.

13. എന്നാല് യോഹന്നാന് തടവില് ആയശേഷം യേശു ഗലീലയില് ചെന്നു ദൈവ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിച്ചു

13. And He was in the wilderness forty days being tempted by Satan; and He was with the wild beasts, and the angels were ministering to Him.

14. കാലം തികഞ്ഞു ദൈവരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു സുവിശേഷത്തില് വിശ്വസിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,

15. അവന് ഗലീലക്കടല്പുറത്തു നടക്കുമ്പോള് ശീമോനും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസും കടലില് വല വീശുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവര് മീന് പിടിക്കുന്നവര് ആയിരുന്നു.

15. and saying, 'The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.'

16. യേശു അവരോടുഎന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പിന് ; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ മുനഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവരാക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. As He was going along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen.

17. ഉടനെ അവര് വല വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

17. And Jesus said to them, 'Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.'

18. അവിടെ നിന്നു അല്പം മുന്നോട്ടു ചെന്നപ്പോള് സെബെദിയുടെ മകനായ യാക്കോബും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാനും പടകില് ഇരുന്നു വല നന്നാക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

18. Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.

19. ഉടനെ അവരെയും വിളിച്ചു; അവര് അപ്പനായ സെബെദിയെ കൂലിക്കാരോടുകൂടെ പടകില് വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

19. Going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.

20. അവര് കഫര്ന്നഹൂമിലേക്കു പോയി; ശബ്ബത്തില് അവന് പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നു ഉപദേശിച്ചു.

20. Immediately He called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went away to follow Him.

21. അവന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിങ്കല് അവര് വിസ്മയിച്ചു; അവന് ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെപ്പോലെയല്ല, അധികാരമുള്ളവനായിട്ടത്രേ അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചതു.

21. They went into Capernaum; and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and [began] to teach.

22. അവരുടെ പള്ളിയില് അശുദ്ധാത്മാവുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് ണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന് നിലവിളിച്ചു

22. They were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as [one] having authority, and not as the scribes.

23. നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് വന്നുവോ? നീ ആര് എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പിരിശുദ്ധന് തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. Just then there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

24. യേശു അതിനെ ശാസിച്ചുമിണ്ടരുതു; അവനെ വിട്ടു പോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. saying, 'What business do we have with each other, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are-- the Holy One of God!'

25. അപ്പോള് അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു അവനെ ഇഴെച്ചു, ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു അവനെ വിട്ടു പോയി.

25. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, 'Be quiet, and come out of him!'

26. എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടുഇതെന്തു? ഒരു പുതിയ ഉപദേശം; അവന് അധികാരത്തോടെ അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളോടും കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവ അവനെ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറങ്ങു തമ്മില് വാദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

26. Throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit cried out with a loud voice and came out of him.

27. അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി വേഗത്തില് ഗലീലനോടു എങ്ങും പരന്നു.

27. They were all amazed, so that they debated among themselves, saying, 'What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.'

28. അനന്തരം അവര് പള്ളിയില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി യാക്കോബും യോഹന്നാനുമായി ശിമോന്റെയും അന്ത്രെയാസിന്റെയും വീട്ടില് വന്നു.

28. Immediately the news about Him spread everywhere into all the surrounding district of Galilee.

29. അവിടെ ശിമോന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ചു കിടന്നിരുന്നു; അവര് അവളെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. And immediately after they came out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

30. അവന് അടുത്തു ചെന്നു അവളെ കൈകൂപിടിച്ചു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു; പനി അവളെ വിട്ടുമാറി, അവള് അവരെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.

30. Now Simon's mother-in-law was lying sick with a fever; and immediately they spoke to Jesus about her.

31. വൈകുന്നേരം സൂര്യന് അസ്തമിച്ചശേഷം അവര് സകലവിധദീനക്കാരെയും ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

31. And He came to her and raised her up, taking her by the hand, and the fever left her, and she waited on them.

32. പട്ടണം ഒക്കെയും വാതില്ക്കല് വന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.

32. When evening came, after the sun had set, they [began] bringing to Him all who were ill and those who were demon-possessed.

33. നാനവ്യാധികളാല് വലഞ്ഞിരുന്ന അനേകരെ അവന് സൌഖ്യമാക്കി, അനേകം ഭൂതങ്ങളെയും പുറത്താക്കി; ഭൂതങ്ങള് അവനെ അറികകൊണ്ടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് അവയെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.

33. And the whole city had gathered at the door.

34. അതികാലത്തു ഇരുട്ടോടെ അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഒരു നിര്ജ്ജനസ്ഥലത്തു ചെന്നു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു.

34. And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He was not permitting the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.

35. ശിമോനും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു,

35. In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left [the house], and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.

36. അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള്എല്ലാവരും നിന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

36. Simon and his companions searched for Him;

37. അവന് അവരോടുഞാന് അടുത്ത ഊരുകളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അവിടേക്കു പോക; ഇതിന്നായിട്ടല്ലോ ഞാന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. they found Him, and said to Him, 'Everyone is looking for You.'

38. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ഗലീലയില് ഒക്കെയും അവരുടെ പള്ളികളില് ചെന്നു പ്രസംഗിക്കയും ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

38. He said to them, 'Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also; for that is what I came for.'

39. ഒരു കുഷ്ഠരോഗി അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു മുട്ടുകുത്തിനിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില് എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന് കഴിയും എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

39. And He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out the demons.

40. യേശു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു

40. And a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, 'If You are willing, You can make me clean.'

41. മനസ്സുണ്ടു, ശുദ്ധമാക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം വിട്ടുമാറി അവന്നു ശുദ്ധിവന്നു.

41. Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, 'I am willing; be cleansed.'

42. യേശു അവനെ അമര്ച്ചയായി ശാസിച്ചു

42. Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.

43. നോകൂ, ആരോടും ഒന്നും പറയരുതു; എന്നാല് ചെന്നു പുരോഹിതന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ കാണിച്ചു, നിന്റെ ശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതു അവര്ക്കും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി അര്പ്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.

43. And He sternly warned him and immediately sent him away,

44. അവനോ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വളരെ ഘോഷിപ്പാനും വസ്തുത പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും തുടങ്ങി; അതിനാല് യേശുവിന്നു പരസ്യമായി പട്ടണത്തില് കടപ്പാന് കഴിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവന് പുറത്തു നിര്ജ്ജനസ്ഥലങ്ങളില് പാര്ത്തു; എല്ലാടത്തു നിന്നും ആളുകള് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു കൂടി.

44. and He said to him, 'See that you say nothing to anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.'
