1. അവിടെ നിന്നു അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരോളം ചെന്നു; പുരുഷാരം പിന്നെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു കൂടി, പതിവുപോലെ അവന് അവരെ പിന്നെയും ഉപദേശിച്ചു.

1. And he rose from thence, and went into the coasts of Jewry through the region that is beyond Jordan. And the people resorted unto him afresh: And as he was wont he taught them again.

2. അപ്പോള് പരീശന്മാര് അടുക്കെ വന്നുഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു പുരുഷന്നു വിഹിതമോ എന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

2. And the pharisees came and asked him a question: whether it were lawful for a man to put away his wife: To prove him.

3. അവന് അവരോടുമോശെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു കല്പന തന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

3. (And) He answered and said unto them: what did Moses bid you do?

4. ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം എഴുതിക്കൊടുത്തു അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിപ്പാന് മോശെ അനുവദിച്ചു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.
ആവർത്തനം 24:1-3

4. And they said: Moses suffered to write a testimonial of her divorcement, and to put her away.

5. യേശു അവരോടുനിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം നിമിത്തമത്രേ അവന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഈ കല്പന എഴുതിത്തന്നതു.

5. And Jesus answered, and said unto them: For because(the hardness) of your hard hearts he wrote this precept unto you.

6. സൃഷ്ടിയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കലോ ദൈവം അവരെ ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

6. But at the first creation, God made them man and woman, saying:

7. അതുകൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യന് അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും വിട്ടു ഭാര്യയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരും;

7. (And) For this thing's sake shall man leave (his) father and mother, and bide by his wife,

8. ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായിത്തീരും; അങ്ങനെ അവര് പിന്നെ രണ്ടല്ല ഒരു ദേഹമത്രേ.

8. and, two(they twain) shall be made one flesh. So then are they now not twain, but one flesh,

9. ആകയാല് ദൈവം യോജിപ്പിച്ചതിനെ മനുഷ്യന് വേര്പിരിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

9. therefore that which(what) God hath coupled, let not man separate.

10. വീട്ടില് വെച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പിന്നെയും അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

10. And in the house his disciples asked him again of that matter.

11. അവന് അവരോടുഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവന് അവള്ക്കു വിരോധമായി വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. And he said unto them: Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, breaketh wedlock to her-ward.

12. സ്ത്രീയും ഭര്ത്താവിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തനുമായി വിവാഹം കഴിഞ്ഞാല് വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. And if a woman forsake her husband, and be married to another, she committeth advoutry.

13. അവന് തൊടേണ്ടതിന്നു ചിലര് ശിശുക്കളെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ശിഷ്യന്മാരോ അവരെ ശാസിച്ചു.

13. And they brought children to him that he should(might) touch them. And his disciples chid(rebuked) those that brought them.

14. യേശു അതു കണ്ടാറെ മുഷിഞ്ഞു അവരോടുശിശുക്കളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് വിടുവിന് ; അവരെ തടുക്കരുതു; ദൈവരാജ്യം ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരുടെതല്ലോ.

14. When Jesus saw that, he was displeased, and said to them: Suffer the children to come unto me and forbid them not. For unto(of) such belongeth(is) the kingdom of God.

15. ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ ശിശു എന്നപോലെ കൈക്കൊള്ളാത്തവന് ആരും ഒരുനാളും അതില് കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. Verily I say to you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child, he shall not enter therein.

16. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരെ അണെച്ചു അവരുടെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചു, അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

16. And he took them up in his arms, and put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

17. അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു യാത്രചെയ്യുമ്പോള് ഒരുവന് ഔടിവന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് മുട്ടുകുത്തിനല്ല ഗുരോ, നിത്യജീവനെ അവകാശം ആക്കുവാന് ഞാന് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

17. And when he was come out into the way, there came one running and kneeled to him, and asked him: Good Master, what shall I do, that I may inherit eternal(ever lasting) life?

18. അതിന്നു യേശുഎന്നെ നല്ലവന് എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എന്തു? ദൈവം ഒരുവന് അല്ലാതെ നല്ലവന് ആരുമില്ല.

18. Jesus said to him: why callest thou me good? there is no man good but one, which is God.

19. കുലചെയ്യരുതു, വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു, മോഷ്ടിക്കരുതു, കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുതു, ചതിക്കരുതു, നിന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നീ കല്പനകളെ നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. Thou knowest the commandments: break not matrimony, kill not, steal not, bear no false witness, defraud no man, honour thy father and thy mother.

20. അവന് അവനോടുഗുരോ, ഇതു ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് ചെറുപ്പം മുതല് പ്രമാണിച്ചുപോരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. He answered and said to him: master, all these I have observed(kept) from my youth.

21. യേശു അവനെ നോക്കി അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചുഒരു കുറവു നിനക്കുണ്ടു; നീ പോയി നിനക്കുള്ളതു എല്ലാം വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രര്ക്കും കൊടുക്ക; എന്നാല് നിനക്കു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും; പിന്നെ വന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. Jesus beheld him, and had a favour to him, and said unto him: One thing is lacking unto thee Go, and sell all that thou hast, and give it to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come and follow me, and take (up) thy cross on thee.

22. അവന് വളരെ സമ്പത്തുള്ളവന് ആകകൊണ്ടു ഈ വചനത്തിങ്കല് വിഷാദിച്ചു ദുഃഖിതനായി പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

22. But he was discomforted with that saying, and went away mourning, for he had great possessions.

23. യേശു ചുറ്റും നോക്കി തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുസമ്പത്തുള്ളവര് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതു എത്ര പ്രയാസം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. And Jesus looked round about, and said unto his disciples: with what difficulty shall they(what an hard thing is it for them) that have riches enter into the kingdom of God.

24. അവന്റെ ഈ വാക്കിനാല് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് വിസ്മയിച്ചു; എന്നാല് യേശു പിന്നെയുംമക്കളേ, സമ്പത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവര് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതു എത്ര പ്രയാസം.
യെശയ്യാ 52:14

24. (And) His disciples were astonied at his words. (But) Jesus answered again, and said unto them: children, how hard is it for them, that trust in their riches, to enter into the kingdom of God?

25. ധനവാന് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാള് ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയൂടെ കടക്കുന്നതു എളുപ്പം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

25. It is easier for a camel to go thorow the eye of an needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

26. അവര് ഏറ്റവും വിസ്മയിച്ചുഎന്നാല് രക്ഷപ്രാപിപ്പാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴിയും എന്നു തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

26. And they were astonied out of measure, saying between themselves: who then can be saved?

27. യേശു അവരെ നോക്കി; മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും അസാദ്ധ്യം തന്നേ, ദൈവത്തിന്നു അല്ലതാനും; ദൈവത്തിന്നു സകലവും സാദ്ധ്യമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. Jesus looked upon(beheld) them, and said: with men it is unpossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

28. പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുഇതാ, ഞങ്ങള് സകലവും വിട്ടു നിന്നെ അനുഗമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.

28. And Peter began to say unto him: Lo, we have forsaken all, and have followed thee.

29. അതിന്നു യേശുഎന്റെ നിമിത്തവും സുവിശേഷം നിമിത്തവും സുവിശേഷം നിമിത്തവും വീടോ സഹോദരന്മാരെയോ സഹോദരികളെയോ അമ്മയെയോ അപ്പനെയോ മക്കളെയോ നിലങ്ങളെയോ വിട്ടാല്,

29. Jesus answered and said: Verily I say unto you, there is no man that hath forsaketh house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, other children, or lands, for my sake and the gospel's,(gospelles)

30. ഈ ലോകത്തില് തന്നേ, ഉപദ്രവങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ നൂറു മടങ്ങു വീടുകളെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും സഹോദരികളെയും അമ്മമാരെയും മക്കളെയും നിലങ്ങളെയും വരുവാനുള്ള ലോകത്തില് നിത്യജീവനെയും പ്രാപിക്കാത്തവന് ആരുമില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

30. which shall not receive an hundred fold now in this life, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers and children, and lands with persecutions, and in the world to come eternal(ever lasting) life.

31. എങ്കിലും മുമ്പന്മാര് പലരും പിമ്പന്മാരും പിമ്പന്മാര് മുമ്പന്മാരും ആകും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

31. Many that are first, shall be last. And the last first.

32. അവര് യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്രചെയ്കയായിരുന്നു; യേശു അവര്ക്കും മുമ്പായി നടന്നു; അവര് വിസ്മയിച്ചു; അനുഗമിക്കുന്നവരോ ദയപ്പെട്ടു. അവന് പിന്നെയും പന്തിരുവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരോടു

32. (And) They were in the way going up to Jerusalem. And Jesus went before them, and they were amazed, and as they followed, were afraid. And Jesus took the twelve again, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him.

33. ഇതാ, നാം യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; അവിടെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെയും കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും; അവര് അവനെ മരണത്തിനു വിധിച്ചു ജാതികള്ക്കു ഏല്പിക്കും.

33. Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the son of man shall be delivered unto the high priests and unto the scribes: and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the gentiles,

34. അവര് അവനെ പരിഹസിക്കയും തുപ്പുകയും തല്ലുകയും കൊല്ലുകയും മൂന്നു നാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നിങ്ങനെ തനിക്കു സംഭവിക്കാനുള്ളതു പറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങി.

34. and they shall mock him, and scourge him and spit upon him, and kill him, and the third day he shall rise again.

35. സെബെദിയുടെ മക്കളായ യാക്കോബും യോഹന്നാനും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടുഗുരോ, ഞങ്ങള് നിന്നോടു യാചിപ്പാന് പോകുന്നതു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ചെയ്തുതരുവാന് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. And (then) James and John the sons of Zebedee, came unto him, saying: Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we desire.

36. അവന് അവരോടുഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്തുതരുവാന് നിങ്ങള് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

36. He said unto them: what would ye I should do unto you?

37. നിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് ഞങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന് നിന്റെ വലത്തും ഒരുത്തന് ഇടത്തും ഇരിക്കാന് വരം നല്കേണം എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

37. They said to him: grant unto us that we may sit one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.

38. യേശു അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് യാചിക്കുന്നതു ഇന്നതു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ല; ഞാന് കുടിക്കുന്നപാന പാത്രം കുടിപ്പാനും ഞാന് ഏലക്കുന്ന സ്നാനം ഏല്പാനും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കഴിയുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു കഴിയും എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

38. But Jesus said unto them: Ye wot not what ye ask. Can(May) ye drink of the cup, that I shall drink of? And be baptised in the baptism that I shall be baptised in?(withall)

39. യേശു അവരോടുഞാന് കുടിക്കുന്ന പാനപാത്രം നിങ്ങള് കുടിക്കയും ഞാന് ഏലക്കുന്ന സ്നാനം ഏല്ക്കയും ചെയ്യും നിശ്ചയം.

39. And they said unto him: that we can.(Yea that we may) Jesus said unto them: ye shall drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and be baptised with the baptism that I shall be baptised in:

40. എന്റെ വലത്തും ഇടത്തും ഇരിപ്പാന് വരം നലകുന്നതോ എന്റേതല്ല; ആര്ക്കും ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നുവോ അവര്ക്കും കിട്ടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand, is not mine to give, but to them for whom it is prepared.

41. അതു ശേഷം പത്തു പേരും കേട്ടിട്ടു യാക്കോബിനോടും യോഹന്നാനോടും നീരസപ്പെട്ടുതുടങ്ങി.

41. And when the ten heard that, they began to disdain at James and John.

42. യേശു അവരെ അടുക്കെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടുജാതികളില് അധിപതികളായവര് അവരില് കര്ത്തൃത്വം ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവരില് മഹത്തുക്കളായവര് അവരുടെ മേല് അധികാരം നടത്തുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

42. But Jesus called them unto him, and said to them: Ye know well that they which seem to bear rule among the gentiles, reign as lords over them. And they that be great among them exercise authority over them.

43. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അങ്ങനെ അരുതു; നിങ്ങളില് മഹാന് ആകുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം നിങ്ങളുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരന് ആകേണം;

43. So shall it not be among you but whosoever of you will be great among you shall be your minister.

44. നിങ്ങളില് ഒന്നാമന് ആകുവാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ദാസനാകേണം.

44. And whosoever will be chief, shall be servant unto all.

45. മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യിപ്പാനല്ല, ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാനും അനേകര്ക്കുംവേണ്ടി തന്റെ ജീവനെ മറുവിലയായി കൊടുപ്പാനും അത്രെ വന്നതു.

45. For even the son of man came, not that other should minister unto him:(not to be ministered unto:) but to minister,(do service) and to give his life for the redemption of many.

46. അവര് യെരീഹോവില് എത്തി; പിന്നെ അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു വലിയ പുരുഷാരത്തോടും കൂടെ യെരീഹോവില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് തിമായിയുടെ മകനായ ബര്ത്തിമായി എന്ന കുരുടനായ ഒരു ഭിക്ഷക്കാരന് വഴിയരികെ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

46. And they came to Hiericho, and as he went out of Hiericho, with his disciples and a great number of people: Barthimeus the son of Thimeus which was blind, sat by the highways side begging.

47. നസറായനായ യേശു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവന് ദാവീദ് പുത്രാ, യേശുവേ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

47. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry and to say: Jesus the son of David, have mercy on me.

48. മിണ്ടാതിരിപ്പാന് പലരും അവനെ ശാസിച്ചിട്ടുംദാവീദുപുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു അവന് ഏറ്റവും അധികം നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

48. And many rebuked him, because(that) he should hold his peace. But he cried the more a great deal, thou son of David have mercy on me.

49. അപ്പോള് യേശു നിന്നുഅവനെ വിളിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ധൈര്യപ്പെടുക, എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക, നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു കുരുടനെ വിളിച്ചു.

49. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called, and they called the blind, saying unto him: Be of good comfort, rise, he called thee.

50. അവന് തന്റെ പുതപ്പു ഇട്ടും കളഞ്ഞു ചാടിയെഴുന്നേറ്റു യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു.

50. (And) He threw away his cloak, and rose and came to Jesus:

51. യേശു അവനോടുഞാന് നിനക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്തുതരേണമെന്നു നീ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുറബ്ബൂനീ, എനിക്കു കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിക്കേണമെന്നു കുരുടന് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

51. And Jesus answered, and said unto him: what wilt thou that I do unto thee? The blind said unto him: Master, that I might see.

52. യേശു അവനോടുപോക; നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടനെ അവന് കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു യാത്രയില് അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

52. Jesus said unto him: go thy way, thy faith hath saved(helped) thee: And by and by he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
