1. അവര് ഒരുക്കിയ സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം എടുത്തു ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ദിവസം അതികാലത്തു എത്തി,

1. Early in the morning on the first day of the week, the women went to the grave taking the spices they had made ready.

2. കല്ലറയില് നിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞതായി കണ്ടു.

2. They found the stone had been pushed away from the grave.

3. അകത്തു കടന്നാറെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം കണ്ടില്ല.

3. They went in but they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

4. അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവര് ചഞ്ചലിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് മിന്നുന്ന വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച രണ്ടു പുരുഷാന്മാര് അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

4. While they wondered about what had happened, they saw two men standing by them in shining clothes.

5. ഭയപ്പെട്ടു മുഖം കുനിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോള് അവര് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ജീവനുള്ളവനെ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

5. They were very much afraid and got down with their faces to the ground. The men said to them, 'Why do you look for the living One among those who are dead?

6. He is not here. He is risen. Do you not remember what He said to you when He was yet in Galilee?

7. He said, 'The Son of Man must be given over into the hands of sinful men. He must be nailed to a cross. He will rise again three days later.' '

8. They remembered what He had said.

9. When they came back from the grave, they told all these things to the eleven followers and to all the others.

10. They were Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James. Other women who were with them told these things to the followers also.

11. Their words sounded like foolish talk. The followers did not believe them.

12. But Peter got up and ran to the grave. He got down to look in and saw only the linen clothes. Then he went away, surprised about what had happened.

13. അന്നു തന്നേ അവരില് രണ്ടുപേര് യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു ഏഴു നാഴിക ദൂരമുള്ള എമ്മവുസ്സ് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലേക്കു പോകയില്

13. That same day two of His followers were going to the town of Emmaus. It was about a two-hour walk from Jerusalem.

14. ഈ സംഭവിച്ചതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒക്കെയും തമ്മില് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

14. They talked of all these things that had happened.

15. സംസാരിച്ചും തര്ക്കിച്ചും കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു താനും അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവരോടു ചേര്ന്നു നടന്നു.

15. While they were talking together, Jesus Himself came and walked along with them.

16. അവനെ അറിയാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ കണ്ണു നിരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു.

16. Something kept their eyes from seeing Who He was.

17. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് വഴിനടന്നു തമ്മില് വാദിക്കുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അവര് വാടിയ മുഖത്തോടെ നിന്നു.

17. He said to them, 'What are you talking about as you walk?' They stood still and looked sad.

18. ക്ളെയൊപ്പാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ളവന് ; യെരൂശലേമിലെ പരദേശികളില് നീ മാത്രം ഈ നാളുകളില് അവിടെ സംഭവിച്ച കാര്യം അറിയാതിരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

18. One of them, whose name was Cleopas, said to Him, 'Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who has not heard of the things that have happened here these days?'

19. ഏതു എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുദൈവത്തിന്നും സകലജനത്തിനും മുമ്പാകെ പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും വാക്കിലും ശക്തിയുള്ള പ്രവാചകനായിരുന്ന നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

19. Jesus said to them, 'What things?' They answered, 'The things about Jesus of Nazareth. He was the great One Who spoke for God. He did powerful works and spoke powerful words in the sight of God and the people.

20. നമ്മുടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും അവനെ മരണവിധിക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിച്ചു.

20. And the religious leaders and the leaders of the people gave Him over to be killed and nailed Him to a cross.

21. ഞങ്ങളോ അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാനുള്ളവന് എന്നു ആശിച്ചിരുന്നു; അത്രയുമല്ല, ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടു ഇന്നു മൂന്നാം നാള് ആകുന്നു.

21. We were hoping He was the One Who was going to make the Jewish people free. But it was three days ago when these things happened.

22. 'Some of the women of our group have surprised us and made us wonder. They went to the grave early this morning.

23. They did not find His body. They came back saying they had seen angels in a special dream who said that He was alive.

24. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ചിലര് കല്ലറക്കല് ചെന്നു സ്ത്രീകള് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തന്നേ കണ്ടു; അവനെ കണ്ടില്ലതാനും.

24. Some of those who were with us went to the grave and found it as the women had said. But they did not see Him.'

25. അവന് അവരോടുഅയ്യോ, ബുദ്ധിഹീനരേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാര് പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത മന്ദബുദ്ധികളേ,

25. Then Jesus said to them, 'You foolish men. How slow you are to believe what the early preachers have said.

26. ക്രിസ്തു ഇങ്ങനെ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടു തന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് കടക്കേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. Did not Christ have to go through these hard things to come into His shining-greatness?'

27. മോശെ തുടങ്ങി സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരില് നിന്നും എല്ലാതിരുവെഴുത്തുകളിലും തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു അവര്ക്കും വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

27. Jesus kept on telling them what Moses and all the early preachers had said about Him in the Holy Writings.

28. അവര് പോകുന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തോടു അടുത്തപ്പോള് അവന് മുമ്പോട്ടു പോകുന്ന ഭാവം കാണിച്ചു.

28. When they came to the town where they were going, Jesus acted as if He were going farther.

29. അവരോഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംക; നേരം വൈകി അസ്തമിപ്പാറായല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു; അവന് അവരോടുകൂടെ പാര്പ്പാന് ചെന്നു.

29. But they said to Him, 'Stay with us. It will soon be evening. The day is about over.' He went in to stay with them.

30. അവരുമായി ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അപ്പം എടുത്തു അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു നുറുക്കി അവര്ക്കുംകൊടുത്തു.

30. As He sat at the table with them, He took the bread and gave thanks and broke it. Then He gave it to them.

31. ഉടനെ അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു അവര് അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞു; അവന് അവര്ക്കും അപ്രത്യക്ഷനായി

31. And their eyes were opened and they knew Him. Then He left them and could not be seen.

32. അവന് വഴിയില് നമ്മോടു സംസാരിച്ചു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തെളിയിക്കുമ്പോള് നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം നമ്മുടെ ഉള്ളില് കത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു അവര് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

32. They said to each other, 'Were not our hearts filled with joy when He talked to us on the road about what the Holy Writings said?'

33. ആ നാഴികയില് തന്നേ അവര് എഴുന്നേറ്റു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

33. Then they got up at once and went back to Jerusalem. They found the eleven followers together and others with them.

34. കര്ത്താവു വാസ്തവമായി ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു പറയുന്ന പതിനൊരുവരെയും കൂടെയുള്ളവരെയും കണ്ടു.

34. They said, 'For sure the Lord is risen and was seen by Simon.'

35. വഴിയില് സംഭവിച്ചതും അവന് അപ്പം നുറുക്കുകയില് തങ്ങള്ക്കു അറിയായ്വന്നതും അവര് വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

35. Then they told what had happened on the road and how they came to know Him when He broke the bread.

36. ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അവരുടെ നടുവില് നിന്നു(നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.)

36. As they talked, Jesus Himself stood among them. He said, 'May you have peace.'

37. അവര് ഞെട്ടി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; ഒരു ഭൂതത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു അവര്ക്കും തോന്നി.

37. But they were afraid and full of fear. They thought they saw a spirit.

38. അവന് അവരോടു നിങ്ങള് കലങ്ങുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില് സംശയം പൊങ്ങുന്നതും എന്തു?

38. Jesus said to them, 'Why are you afraid? Why do you have doubts in your hearts?

39. ഞാന് തന്നെ ആകുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ കയ്യും കാലും നോക്കി അറിവിന് ; എന്നെ തൊട്ടുനോക്കുവിന് ; എന്നില് കാണുന്നതുപോലെ ഭൂതത്തിന്നു മാംസവും അസ്ഥിയും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. Look at My hands and My feet. See! It is I, Myself! Touch Me and see for yourself. A spirit does not have flesh and bones as I have.'

40. (ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് കയ്യും കാലും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു.)

40. When Jesus had said this, He showed them His hands and feet.

41. അവര് സന്തോഷത്താല് വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ അതിശയിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോള് അവരോടുതിന്നുവാന് വല്ലതും ഇവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

41. They still wondered. It was hard for them to believe it and yet it made them happy. Then He said to them, 'Do you have anything here to eat?'

42. അവര് ഒരു ഖണ്ഡം വറുത്ത മീനും (തേന് കട്ടയും) അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

42. They gave Jesus a piece of fish that had been cooked and some honey.

43. അതു അവന് വാങ്ങി അവര് കാണ്കെ തിന്നു.

43. He took it and ate it in front of them.

44. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുഇതാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു. മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലും പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും സങ്കീര്ത്തനങ്ങളിലും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും നിവൃത്തിയാകേണം എന്നുള്ളതു തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തിരിച്ചറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ ബുദ്ധിയെ തുറന്നു.

44. Jesus said to them, 'These are the things I told you while I was yet with you. All things written about Me in the Law of Moses and in the Books of the early preachers and in the Psalms must happen as they said they would happen.'

45. ക്രിസ്തു കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കയും മൂന്നാം നാള് മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് മാനസാന്തരവും പാപമോചനവും യെരൂശലേമില് തുടങ്ങി സകലജാതികളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കയും വേണം എന്നിങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

45. Then He opened their minds to understand the Holy Writings.

46. ഇതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 53:5, ഹോശേയ 6:2

46. He said to them, 'It is written that Christ should suffer and be raised from the dead after three days.

47. എന്റെ പിതാവു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതിനെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല് അയക്കും. നിങ്ങളോ ഉയരത്തില്നിന്നു ശക്തി ധരിക്കുവോളം നഗരത്തില് പാര്പ്പിന് എന്നും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. It must be preached that men must be sorry for their sins and turn from them. Then they will be forgiven. This must be preached in His name to all nations beginning in Jerusalem.

48. അനന്തരം അവന് അവരെ ബേഥാന്യയോളം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി കൈ ഉയര്ത്തി അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

48. You are to tell what you have seen.

49. അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയില് അവന് അവരെ വിട്ടു പിരിഞ്ഞു (സ്വര്ഗ്ഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്തു).

49. See! I will send you what My Father promised. But you are to stay in Jerusalem until you have received power from above.'

50. അവര് (അവനെ നമസ്ക്കുരിച്ചു) മഹാസന്തോഷത്തോടെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു എല്ലായ്പോഴും ദൈവലായത്തില് ഇരുന്നു ദൈവത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തിപ്പോന്നു.

50. Jesus led them out as far as Bethany. Then He lifted up His hands and prayed that good would come to them.
