1. പെന്തെക്കൊസ്തനാള് വന്നപ്പോള് എല്ലാവരും ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.

1. And when the day of Pentecost was, they were all with one accorde in one place:

2. പെട്ടെന്നു കൊടിയ കാറ്റടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ആകാശത്തനിന്നു ഒരു മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായി, അവര് ഇരുന്നിരുന്ന വീടു മുഴുവനും നിറെച്ചു.

2. And sodenly there came a sounde fro heauen, as it had ben the commyng of a mightie wynde, and it fylled all the house where they sate.

3. അഗ്നി ജ്വാലപോലെ പിളര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്ന നാവുകള് അവര്ക്കും പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി അവരില് ഔരോരുത്തന്റെ മേല് പതിഞ്ഞു.

3. And there appeared vnto them clouen tongues, lyke as they had ben of fyre, and it sate vpon eche one of them.

4. എല്ലാവരുംപരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ആത്മാവു അവര്ക്കും ഉച്ചരിപ്പാന് നല്കിയതുപോലെ അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

4. And they were all fylled with the holy ghost, and began to speake with other tongues, as the spirite gaue them vtteraunce.

5. അന്നു ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴുള്ള സകല ജാതികളില് നിന്നും യെരൂശലേമില് വന്നു പാര്ക്കുംന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരായ ഭക്തിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5. There were dwellyng at Hierusalem, Iewes, deuout men, out of euery nation [of them] that are vnder heauen.

6. ഈ മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോള് പുരുഷാരം വന്നു കൂടി, ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ഭാഷയില് അവര് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടു അമ്പരന്നു പോയി.

6. When this was noysed about, the multitude came together and were astonnyed, because that euery man hearde them speake with his owne language.

7. എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടുഈ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവര് എല്ലാം ഗലീലക്കാര് അല്ലയോ?

7. They wondred all, and marueyled, saying among themselues: Beholde, are not all these which speake, of Galilee?

8. പിന്നെ നാം ഔരോരുത്തന് ജനിച്ച നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്ത ഭാഷയില് അവര് സംസാരിച്ചു കേള്ക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

8. And howe heare we euery man his owne tongue, wherin we were borne?

9. പര്ത്ഥരും മേദ്യരും ഏലാമ്യരും മെസപ്പൊത്താമ്യയിലും യെഹൂദ്യയിലും കപ്പദോക്യയിലും

9. Parthians, and Medes, & Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Iurie, and in Capadocia, in Pontus and Asia,

10. പൊന്തൊസിലും ആസ്യയിലും പ്രുഗ്യയിലും പംഫുല്യയിലും മിസ്രയീമിലും കുറേനെക്കു ചേര്ന്ന ലിബ്യാപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും പാര്ക്കുംന്നവരും റോമയില് നിന്നു വന്നു പാര്ക്കുംന്നവരും യെഹൂദന്മാരും യെഹൂദ മതാനുസാരികളും ക്രേത്യരും അറബിക്കാരുമായ നാം

10. Phrygia, & Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parties of Lybia, which is besyde Cyrene, & straungers of Rome, Iewes and Proselytes.

11. ഈ നമ്മുടെ ഭാഷകളില് അവര് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വന് കാര്യങ്ങളെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു കേള്ക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Cretes and Arabians: we haue hearde them speake in our tongues, the wonderfull workes of God.

12. എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ചഞ്ചലിച്ചു; ഇതു എന്തായിരിക്കും എന്നു തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

12. They were all amased, and wondred, saying one to another: What meaneth this?

13. ഇവര് പുതു വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു മറ്റു ചിലര് പരിഹസിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. Other mocked, saying: These men are full of newe wyne.

14. അപ്പോള് പത്രൊസ് പതിനൊന്നുപേരോടുകൂടെ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഉറക്കെ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുയെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരും യെരൂശലേമില് പാര്ക്കുംന്ന എല്ലാവരുമായുള്ളോരേ, ഇതു നിങ്ങള് അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ വാക്കു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

14. But Peter standyng foorth with the eleuen, lyft vp his voyce, and sayde vnto them: Ye men of Iurie, and all ye that dwell at Hierusalem, be this knowen vnto you, and with your eares heare my wordes.

15. നിങ്ങള് ഊഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഇവര് ലഹരി പിടിച്ചവരല്ല; പകല് മൂന്നാംമണിനേരമേ ആയിട്ടുള്ളുവല്ലോ.

15. For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeyng it is but the thirde houre of the day.

16. ഇതു യോവേല് പ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതത്രേ; അതെന്തെന്നാല്

16. But this is that which was spoken by the prophete Ioel:

17. “അന്ത്യകാലത്തു ഞാന് സകല ജഡത്തിന്മേലും എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും പ്രവചിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ യൌവ്വനക്കാര് ദര്ശനങ്ങള് ദര്ശിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ വൃദ്ധന്മാര് സ്വപ്നങ്ങള് കാണും.”
യോവേൽ 2:28-32

17. And it shalbe in the last dayes (sayth God) of my spirite I wyll powre out vpon all fleshe: And your sonnes and your daughters shall prophesie, and your young men shall see visions, and your olde men shall dreame dreames.

18. എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെമേലും ദാസിമാരുടെമേലും കൂടെ ഞാന് ആ നാളുകളില് എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും; അവരും പ്രവചിക്കും.

18. And on my seruauntes, and on my handemaydens, I wyll powre out of my spirite in those dayes, and they shall prophesie.

19. ഞാന് മീതെ ആകാശത്തില് അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും താഴെ ഭൂമിയില് അടയാളങ്ങളും കാണിക്കും; രക്തവും തീയും പുകയാവിയും തന്നേ.

19. And I wyll shewe wonders in heauen aboue, and tokens in the earth beneath, blood, and fyre, and the vapour of smoke.

20. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വലുതും പ്രസിദ്ധവുമായ നാള് വരുംമുമ്പേ സൂര്യന് ഇരുളായും ചന്ദ്രന് രക്തമായും മാറിപ്പോകും.

20. The Sunne shalbe turned into darknesse, and the Moone into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.

21. എന്നാല് കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് ഏവനും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.”

21. And it shall come to passe, that whosoeuer shall call on the name of the Lorde, shalbe saued.

22. യിസ്രായേല് പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഈ വചനം കേട്ടു കൊള്വിന് . നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ അറിയുംപോലെ ദൈവം അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ നടുവില് ചെയ്യിച്ച ശക്തികളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും അടയാളങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടു

22. Ye men of Israel, heare these wordes: Iesus of Nazareth, a man approued of God among you, with miracles, wonders, and signes, which God dyd by hym in the middes of you, as ye your selues also knowe.

23. ദൈവം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്ന പുരുഷനായി നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെ ദൈവം തന്റെ സ്ഥിര നിര്ണ്ണയത്താലും മുന്നറിവിനാലും ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടു, നിങ്ങള് അവനെ അധര്മ്മികളുടെ കയ്യാല് തറെപ്പിച്ചു കൊന്നു;

23. Hym haue ye taken, by the handes of vnryghteous persons, after he was deliuered by the determinate councell and foreknowledge of God, and haue crucified and slayne hym.

24. ദൈവമോ മരണപാശങ്ങളെ അഴിച്ചിട്ടു അവനെ ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു. മരണം അവനെ പിടിച്ചു വെക്കുന്നതു അസാദ്ധ്യമായിരുന്നു.

24. Whom God hath raised vp, and loosed the sorowes of death, because it was vnpossible, that he shoulde be holden of it.

25. “ഞാന് കര്ത്താവിനെ എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ മുമ്പില് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് എന്റെ വലഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്കയാല് ഞാന് കുലുങ്ങിപോകയില്ല. അതു കൊണ്ട് എന്റെ ഹൃദയം സന്തോഷിച്ചു, എന്റെ നാവു ആനന്ദിച്ചു, എന്റെ ജഡവും പ്രത്യാശയോടെ വസിക്കും.”

25. For Dauid speaketh of hym, I sawe the Lorde alwayes set foorth before my face: for he is on my ryght hande, that I shoulde not be moued.

26. നീ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ പാതാളത്തില് വിടുകയില്ല; നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ ദ്രവത്വം കാണ്മാന് സമ്മതിക്കയുമില്ല.

26. Therfore dyd my heart reioyce, and my tongue was glad. Moreouer also my fleshe shall reste in hope,

27. നീ ജീവമാര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ എന്നോടു അറിയിച്ചു; നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് എന്നെ സന്തോഷ പൂര്ണ്ണനാക്കും” എന്നു ദാവീദ് അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

27. Because thou wylt not leaue my soule in hell, neither wylt thou suffer thyne holy one to see corruption.

28. സഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഗോത്രപിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അവന് മരിച്ചു അടക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു എനിക്കു നിങ്ങളോടു ധൈര്യമായി പറയാം; അവന്റെ കല്ലറ ഇന്നുവരെ നമ്മുടെ ഇടയില് ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

28. Thou hast shewed me the wayes of lyfe, thou shalt make me full of ioy with thy countenaunce.

29. എന്നാല് അവന് പ്രവാചകന് ആകയാല് ദൈവം അവന്റെ കടിപ്രദേശത്തിന്റെ ഫലത്തില് നിന്ന് ഒരുത്തനെ അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില് ഇരുത്തും എന്നു തന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത് ഉറപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു അറഞ്ഞിട്ടു

29. Ye men and brethren, let me freely speake vnto you of the patriarke Dauid: For he is both dead and buryed, and his sepulchre remayneth with vs vnto this day.

30. അവനെ പാതാളത്തില് വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞില്ലഅവന്റെ ജഡം ദ്രവത്വം കണ്ടതുമില്ല എന്നു ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പുനരുത്ഥാനം മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി കണ്ടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു. ഈ യേശുവിനെ ദൈവം ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു

30. Therfore, seeyng he was a prophete, and knewe that God had sworne with an oth to hym, that Christe, as concernyng the fleshe, should come of the fruite of his loynes, & should syt on his seate:

31. അതിന്നു ഞങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.

31. He knowyng this before, spake of the resurrection of Christe, that his soule shoulde not be left in hell, neither his fleshe shoulde see corruption.

32. അവന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വല ഭാഗത്തേക്കു ആരോഹണം ചെയ്തു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു എന്ന വാഗ്ദത്തം പിതാവിനോടു വാങ്ങി, നിങ്ങള് ഈ കാണുകയും കേള്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത് പകര്ന്നുതന്നു,

32. This Iesus hath God raysed vp, wherof we all are witnesses.

33. Then sence that he by the ryght hande of God was exalted, and hath receaued of the father the promise of the holy ghost, he hath shed foorth this, which ye nowe see, and heare.

34. “ഞാന് നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ പാദപീഠം ആക്കുവോളം നീ എന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്ക എന്നു കര്ത്താവു എന്റെ കാര്ത്താവിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു” എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

34. For Dauid is not ascended into heaue, but he sayeth: The Lorde sayde to my Lorde, syt thou on my ryght,

35. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ക്രൂശിച്ച ഈ യേശുവിനെ തന്നേ ദൈവം കര്ത്താവും ക്രിസ്തുവുമാക്കിവെച്ചു എന്നു യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹം ഒക്കെയും നിശ്ചയമായി അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളട്ടെ.
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 110:1

35. Untill I make thy foes thy footstoole.

36. ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവര് ഹൃദയത്തില് കുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പത്രൊസിനോടും ശേഷം അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരോടുംസഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങള് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

36. Therfore, let all the house of Israel know for a suretie, that God hath made that same Iesus, whom ye haue crucified, Lorde and Christe.

37. പത്രൊസ് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളുടെ മോചനത്തിന്നായി ഔരോരുത്തന് യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് സ്നാനം ഏല്പിന് ; എന്നാല് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു എന്ന ദാനം ലഭിക്കും.

37. Nowe when they hearde this, they were pricked in their heartes, and sayde vnto Peter, & vnto the other Apostles: Ye men & brethren, what shall we do?

38. വാഗ്ദത്തം നിങ്ങള്ക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള്ക്കും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ കര്ത്താവു വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തുന്ന ദൂരസ്ഥന്മാരായ ഏവര്ക്കും ഉള്ളതല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. Then Peter sayde vnto them: Repent, and be baptized euery one of you in the name of Iesus Christe, for the remission of sinnes, and ye shall receaue the gyft of the holy ghost.

39. മറ്റു പല വാക്കുകളാലും അവന് സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു അവരെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു; ഈ വക്രതയുള്ള തലമുറയില്നിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. For the promise was made vnto you, and to your chyldren, and to all that are a farre of, euen as many as the Lorde our God shall call.

40. അവന്റെ വാക്കു കൈക്കൊണ്ടവര് സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു; അന്നു മുവായിരത്തോളം പേര് അവരോടു ചേര്ന്നു.

40. And with many other wordes bare he witnesse, and exhorted them, saying: Saue your selues from this vntowarde generation.

41. അവര് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ ഉപദേശം കേട്ടും കൂട്ടായ്മ ആചരിച്ചും അപ്പം നുറക്കിയും പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കഴിച്ചും പോന്നു.

41. Then they that gladly receaued his worde, were baptized: And the same day there were added [vnto them,] about three thousande soules.

42. എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ഭയമായി; അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരാല് ഏറിയ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും അടയാളങ്ങളും നടന്നു.

42. And they continued stedfastly in the Apostles doctrine and felowship, and in breakyng of bread, and in prayers.

43. വിശ്വസിച്ചവര് എല്ലാവരും ഒരുമിച്ചിരുന്നു

43. And feare came vpon euery soule. And many wonders and signes were done by the Apostles.

44. സകലവും പൊതുവക എന്നു എണ്ണുകയും ജന്മഭൂമികളും വസ്തുക്കളും വിറ്റു അവനവന്നു ആവശ്യം ഉള്ളതുപോലെ എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പങ്കിടുകയും,

44. And all that beleued, kept them selues together, and had all thynges common,

45. ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു ദിനംപ്രതി ദൈവാലയത്തില് കൂടിവരികയും വീട്ടില് അപ്പം നുറുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു ഉല്ലാസവും ഹൃദയപരമാര്ത്ഥതയും പൂണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയും ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കയും സകല ജനത്തിന്റെയും കൃപ അനുഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. കര്ത്താവു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരെ ദിനംപ്രതി സഭയോടു ചേര്ത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

45. And solde their possessions & goodes, and parted them to all men, as euery man had neede.
