1. കര്ത്തൃസേവനിമിത്തം ബദ്ധനായിരിക്കുന്ന ഞാന് പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുനിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വിളിക്കു യോഗ്യമാംവണ്ണം

1. I exhort you, therefore, I, the prisoner in the Lord, to walk in a manner worthy of the calling wherewith ye were called:

2. പൂര്ണ്ണവിനയത്തോടും സൌമ്യതയോടും ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയോടുംകൂടെ നടക്കയും സ്നേഹത്തില് അന്യോന്യം പൊറുക്കയും

2. With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, bearing one with another in love,

3. ആത്മാവിന്റെ ഐക്യത സമാധാനബന്ധത്തില് കാപ്പാന് ശ്രമിക്കയും ചെയ്വിന് .

3. Giving diligence to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting-bond of peace,

4. നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചപ്പോള് ഏകപ്രത്യാശെക്കായി നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചതുപോലെ ശരീരം ഒന്നു, ആത്മാവു ഒന്നു,

4. One body, and one spirit, even as ye were also called in one hope of your calling,

5. കര്ത്താവു ഒരുവന് , വിശ്വാസം ഒന്നു, സ്നാനം ഒന്നു, എല്ലാവര്ക്കും മീതെയുള്ളവനും

5. One Lord, one faith, one immersion,

6. എല്ലാവരിലും കൂടി വ്യാപരിക്കുന്നവനും എല്ലാവരിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നവനുമായി എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ദൈവവും പിതാവുമായവന് ഒരുവന് .

6. One God and Father of all who is over all, and through all, and in all.

7. എന്നാല് നമ്മില് ഔരോരുത്തന്നു ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ദാനത്തിന്റെ അളവിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം കൃപ ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. To each one of you, however, hath favour been given, according to the measure of the free-gift of the Christ;

8. അതുകൊണ്ടു“അവന് ബദ്ധന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പോയി ഉയരത്തില് കയറി മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും ദാനങ്ങളെ കൊടുത്തു” എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

8. Wherefore he saith Ascending on high, he took captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9. കയറി എന്നതിനാല് അവന് ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗങ്ങളിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങി എന്നു വരുന്നില്ലയോ?

9. Now this, He ascended; what is it, save that he also descended into the under parts of the earth?

10. ഇറങ്ങിയവന് സകലത്തെയും നിറെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗാധിസ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിന്നു മീതെ കയറിയവനും ആകുന്നു.

10. He that descended, he, it is who also ascended over-above all the heavens, that he might fill all things;

11. അവന് ചിലരെ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരായും ചിലരെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരായും ചിലരെ സുവിശേഷകന്മാരായും ചിലരെ ഇടയന്മാരായും ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാരായും നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു;

11. And, he, gave some, indeed, to be apostles, and some, prophets, and some, evangelists, and some, shepherds and teachers,

12. അതു നാം എല്ലാവരും വിശ്വാസത്തിലും ദൈവപുത്രനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിലുമുള്ള ഐക്യതയും തികഞ്ഞ പുരുഷത്വവും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സമ്പൂര്ണ്ണതയായ പ്രായത്തിന്റെ അളവും പ്രാപിക്കുവോളം

12. With a view to the fitting of the saints for the work of ministering, for an upbuilding of the body of the Christ;

13. വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ യഥാസ്ഥാനത്തിന്നായുള്ള ശുശ്രൂഷയുടെ വേലെക്കും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധനെക്കും ആകുന്നു.

13. Until we all advance into the oneness of the faith, and the personal knowledge of the Son of God, into a man of full-growth, into the measure of the stature of the fulness of the Christ;

14. അങ്ങനെ നാം ഇനി മനുഷ്യരുടെ ചതിയാലും ഉപായത്താലും തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്ന തന്ത്രങ്ങളില് കുടുങ്ങിപ്പോകുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഉപദേശത്തിന്റെ ഔരോ കാറ്റിനാല് അലഞ്ഞുഴലുന്ന ശിശുക്കള് ആയിരിക്കാതെ

14. That we may, no longer, be infants billow-tossed and shifted round with every wind of teaching, in the craft of men, in knavery suited to the artifice of error;

15. സ്നേഹത്തില് സത്യം സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന തലയോളം സകലത്തിലും വളരുവാന് ഇടയാകും.

15. But, pursuing truth may, in love, grow into him in all things, who is the head, Christ,

16. ശരീരം മുഴുവനും യുക്തമായി ചേര്ന്നും ഏകീഭവിച്ചും ഔരോ അംഗത്തിന്റെ അതതു വ്യാപാരത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ഉതവി ലഭിപ്പാനുള്ള ഏതു സന്ധിയാലും സ്നേഹത്തിലുള്ള വര്ദ്ധനെക്കായി അവനില് നിന്നു വളര്ച്ച പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

16. Out of whom all the body fitly framing itself together, and connecting itself, through means of every joint of supply, by way of energising in the measure of each single part secureth the growing of the body, unto an upbuilding of itself in love.

17. ആകയാല് ഞാന് കര്ത്താവില് സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു പറയുന്നതു എന്തെന്നാല്ജാതികള് തങ്ങളുടെ വ്യര്ത്ഥബുദ്ധി അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള് ഇനി നടക്കരുതു.

17. This, therefore, am I saying and protesting in the Lord: that, no longer, ye walk even as, the nations, walk in the vanity of their minds,

18. അവര് അന്ധബുദ്ധികളായി അജ്ഞാനം നിമിത്തം, ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം നിമിത്തം തന്നേ,

18. Being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God by reason of the ignorance that existeth within them, by reason of their hearts being turned into stone,

19. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ജീവനില് നിന്നു അകന്നു മനം തഴമ്പിച്ചു പോയവര് ആകയാല് അത്യാഗ്രഹത്തോടെ സകല അശുദ്ധിയും പ്രവര്ത്തിപ്പാന് ദുഷ്കാമത്തിന്നു തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

19. Who, indeed, having become past feeling, have delivered, themselves, up, with wantonness, unto making a trade of all impurity with greed.

20. നിങ്ങളോ യേശുവില് സത്യം ഉള്ളതുപോലെ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടു അവനില് ഉപദേശം ലഭിച്ചു എങ്കില്

20. Ye, however, have, not thus, learned the Christ:

21. ക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇങ്ങനെയല്ല പഠിച്ചതു.

21. If, at least, it is, him, ye have heard, and, in him, ye have been taught even as truth is in Jesus,

22. മുമ്പിലത്തെ നടപ്പു സംബന്ധിച്ചു ചതിമോഹങ്ങളാല് വഷളായിപ്പോകുന്ന പഴയ മനുഷ്യനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു

22. That ye were to strip off as regardeth the former behaviour the old man, who corrupteth himself according to his deceitful covetings,

23. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളിലെ ആത്മാവു സംബന്ധമായി പുതുക്കം പ്രാപിച്ചു

23. And were to be getting young again in the spirit of your mind,

24. സത്യത്തിന്റെ ഫലമായ നീതിയിലും വിശുദ്ധിയിലും ദൈവാനുരൂപമായി സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെട്ട പുതുമനുഷ്യനെ ധരിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

24. And were to put on the man of new mould, who, after God, hath been created in his truthful righteousness and loving kindness.

25. ആകയാല് ഭോഷകു ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടു സത്യം സംസാരിപ്പിന് ; നാം തമ്മില് അവയവങ്ങളല്ലോ.

25. Wherefore, stripping off what is false, be speaking truth each one with his neighbour, because we are members one of another;

26. കോപിച്ചാല് പാപം ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പിന് . സൂര്യന് അസ്തമിക്കുവോളം നിങ്ങള് കോപം വെച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കരുതു.

26. Be ye angry, and not committing sin, let not the sun be going down upon your angry mood,

27. പിശാചിന്നു ഇടം കൊടുക്കരുതു.

27. Neither be giving place unto the adversary;

28. കള്ളന് ഇനി കക്കാതെ മുട്ടുള്ളവന്നു ദാനം ചെയ്വാന് ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ടതിന്നു കൈകൊണ്ടു നല്ലതു പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കയത്രേ വേണ്ടതു.

28. Let, the stealer, no more, steal, but rather let him be toiling, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have wherewith to be giving away to him that hath need;

29. കേള്ക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും കൃപ ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആവശ്യംപോലെ ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധനെക്കായി നല്ല വാക്കല്ലാതെ ആകാത്തതു ഒന്നും നിങ്ങളുടെ വായില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടരുതു.

29. Let, no putrid discourse, out of your mouth, be going forth, but if anything is good suited to the needful upbuilding, that it may give benefit unto them that hear;

30. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിക്കരുതു; അവനാലല്ലോ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുനാളിന്നായി മുദ്രയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു.
യെശയ്യാ 63:10

30. And be not grieving the Holy Spirit of God, wherewith ye have been sealed unto a day of redemption;

31. എല്ലാ കൈപ്പും കോപവും ക്രോധവും കൂറ്റാരവും ദൂഷണവും സകലദുര്ഗ്ഗുണവുമായി നിങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകട്ടെ.

31. All bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and outcry, and profane speaking, let it be taken away from you, with all baseness;

32. നിങ്ങള് തമ്മില് ദയയും മനസ്സലിവുമുള്ളവരായി ദൈവം ക്രിസ്തുവില് നിങ്ങളോടു ക്ഷമിച്ചതുപോലെ അന്യോന്യം ക്ഷമിപ്പിന് .

32. And be ye gracious one to another, tenderly affectionate, in favour forgiving one another even as, God also, in Christ, hath in favour forgiven you;
