1. ആകയാല് പ്രിയമക്കള് എന്നപോലെ ദൈവത്തെ അനുകരിപ്പിന് .

1. So imitate God, as his dear children;

2. ക്രിസ്തുവും നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി തന്നെത്താന് ദൈവത്തിന്നു സൌരഭ്യവാസനയായ വഴിപാടും യാഗവുമായി അര്പ്പിച്ചതു പോലെ സ്നേഹത്തില് നടപ്പിന്

2. and live a life of love, just as also the Messiah loved us, indeed, on our behalf gave himself up as an offering, as a slaughtered sacrifice to God with a pleasing fragrance.

3. ദുര്ന്നടപ്പും യാതൊരു അശുദ്ധിയും അത്യാഗ്രഹവും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് പേര് പറകപോലും അരുതു;

3. Among you there should not even be mentioned sexual immorality, or any kind of impurity, or greed; these are utterly inappropriate for God's holy people.

4. അങ്ങനെ ആകുന്നു വിശുദ്ധന്മാര്ക്കും ഉചിതം. ചീത്തത്തരം, പൊട്ടച്ചൊല്, കളിവാക്കു ഇങ്ങനെ ചേര്ച്ചയല്ലാത്തവ ഒന്നും അരുതു; സ്തോത്രമത്രേ വേണ്ടതു.

4. Also out of place are obscenity and stupid talk or coarse language; instead, you should be giving thanks.

5. ദുര്ന്നടപ്പുകാരന് , അശുദ്ധന് , വിഗ്രഹാരാധിയായ ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹി ഇവര്ക്കും ആര്ക്കും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെയും ദൈവത്തിന്റെയും രാജ്യത്തില് അവകാശമില്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

5. For of this you can be sure: every sexually immoral, impure or greedy person- that is, every idol-worshipper- has no share in the Kingdom of the Messiah and of God.

6. വ്യര്ത്ഥവാക്കുകളാല് ആരും നിങ്ങളെ ചതിക്കരുതു; ഈ വക നിമിത്തമല്ലോ ദൈവകോപം അനുസരണം കെട്ടവരുടെ മേല് വരുന്നു.

6. Let no one deceive you with empty talk; for it is because of these things that God's judgment is coming on those who disobey him.

7. നിങ്ങള് അവരുടെ കൂട്ടാളികള് ആകരുതു.

7. So don't become partners with them!

8. മുമ്പെ നിങ്ങള് ഇരുളായിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോഴോ കര്ത്താവില് വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു.

8. For you used to be darkness; but now, united with the Lord, you are light. Live like children of light,

9. കര്ത്താവിന്നു പ്രസാദമായതു എന്തെന്നു പരിശോധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വെളിച്ചത്തിലുള്ളവരായി നടന്നുകൊള്വിന് .

9. for the fruit of the light is in every kind of goodness, rightness and truth-

10. സകല സല്ഗുണവും നീതിയും സത്യവുമല്ലോ വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ ഫലം.

10. try to determine what will please the Lord.

11. ഇരുട്ടിന്റെ നിഷ്ഫലപ്രവൃത്തികളില് കൂട്ടാളികള് ആകരുതു; അവയെ ശാസിക്ക അത്രേ വേണ്ടതു.

11. Have nothing to do with the deeds produced by darkness, but instead expose them,

12. അവര് ഗൂഢമായി ചെയ്യുന്നതു പറവാന് പോലും ലജ്ജയാകുന്നു.

12. for it is shameful even to speak of the things these people do in secret.

13. അവയെ ശാസിക്കുമ്പോഴോ സകലത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു വെളിച്ചത്താല് ബോധം വരും; ബോധം വരുന്നതെല്ലാം വെളിച്ചം പോലെ തെളിവല്ലോ.

13. But everything exposed to the light is revealed clearly for what it is,

14. അതുകൊണ്ടു“ഉറങ്ങുന്നവനേ, ഉണര്ന്നു മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില് നിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക; എന്നാല് ക്രിസ്തു നിന്റെ മേല് പ്രകാശിക്കും” എന്നു ചൊല്ലുന്നു.

14. since anything revealed is a light. This is why it says, 'Get up, sleeper! Arise from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you!'

15. ആകയാല് സൂക്ഷമത്തോടെ, അജ്ഞാനികളായിട്ടല്ല ജ്ഞാനികളായിട്ടത്രേ നടപ്പാന് നോക്കുവിന് .

15. Therefore, pay careful attention to how you conduct your life- live wisely, not unwisely.

16. ഇതു ദുഷ്കാലമാകയാല് സമയം തക്കത്തില് ഉപയോഗിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

16. Use your time well, for these are evil days.

17. ബുദ്ധിഹീനരാകാതെ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ഇന്നതെന്നു ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

17. So don't be foolish, but try to understand what the will of the Lord is.

18. വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു മത്തരാകാരുതു; അതിനാല് ദുര്ന്നടപ്പു ഉണ്ടാകുമല്ലോ. ആത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി സങ്കീര്ത്തനങ്ങളാലും

18. Don't get drunk with wine, because it makes you lose control. Instead, keep on being filled with the Spirit-

19. sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to each other; sing to the Lord and make music in your heart to him;

20. നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശു ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് ദൈവവും പിതാവുമായവന്നു എല്ലായ്പോഴും എല്ലാറ്റിന്നു വേണ്ടിയും സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്തുകൊള്വിന് .

20. always give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

21. ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ഭയത്തില് അന്യോന്യം കീഴ്പെട്ടിരിപ്പിന് .

21. Submit to one another in fear of the Messiah.

22. ഭാര്യമാരേ, കര്ത്താവിന്നു എന്നപോലെ സ്വന്ത ഭര്ത്താക്കന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങുവിന് .

22. Wives should submit to their husbands as they do to the Lord;

23. ക്രിസ്തു ശരീരത്തിന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവായി സഭെക്കു തലയാകുന്നതുപോലെ ഭര്ത്താവു ഭാര്യകൂ തലയാകുന്നു.

23. because the husband is head of the wife, just as the Messiah, as head of the Messianic Community, is himself the one who keeps the body safe.

24. എന്നാല് സഭ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നതു പോലെ ഭാര്യമാരും ഭര്ത്താക്കന്മാര്ക്കും സകലത്തിലും കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കേണം.

24. Just as the Messianic Community submits to the Messiah, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25. ഭര്ത്താക്കന്മാരേ, ക്രിസ്തുവും സഭയെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിന് .

25. As for husbands, love your wives, just as the Messiah loved the Messianic Community, indeed, gave himself up on its behalf,

26. അവന് അവളെ വചനത്തോടുകൂടിയ ജലസ്നാനത്താല് വെടിപ്പാക്കി വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും

26. in order to set it apart for God, making it clean through immersion in the [mikveh], so to speak,

27. കറ, ചുളുക്കം മുതലായതു ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാതെ സഭയെ ശുദ്ധയും നിഷ്കളങ്കയുമായി തനിക്കു തന്നേ തേജസ്സോടെ മുന്നിറുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്നെത്താന് അവള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

27. in order to present the Messianic Community to himself as a bride to be proud of, without a spot, wrinkle or any such thing, but holy and without defect.

28. അവ്വണ്ണം ഭര്ത്താക്കന്മാരും തങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ സ്വന്ത ശരീരങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു. ഭാര്യയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവന് തന്നെത്താന് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

28. This is how husbands ought to love their wives- like their own bodies; for the man who loves his wife is loving himself.

29. ആരും തന്റെ ജഡത്തെ ഒരുനാളും പകെച്ചിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ; ക്രിസ്തുവും സഭയെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു പോലെ അതിനെ പോറ്റി പുലര്ത്തുകയത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

29. Why, no one ever hated his own flesh! On the contrary, he feeds it well and takes care of it, just as the Messiah does the Messianic Community,

30. നാം അവന്റെ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളല്ലോ.

30. because we are parts of his Body.

31. അതു നിമിത്തം ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും വിട്ടു ഭാര്യയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരും; ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായിത്തീരും .

31. Therefore a man will leave his father and mother and remain with his wife, and the two will become one.'

32. ഈ മര്മ്മം വലിയതു; ഞാന് ക്രിസ്തുവിനെയും സഭയെയും ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചത്രേ പറയുന്നതു. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ തന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം. ഭാര്യയോ ഭര്ത്താവിനെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

32. There is profound truth hidden here, which I say concerns the Messiah and the Messianic Community.
