1. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കാലങ്ങളെയും സമയങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ എഴുതിയറിയിപ്പാന് ആവശ്യമില്ല.

1. But, concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have, no need, that, unto you, anything be written;

2. കള്ളന് രാത്രിയില് വരുമ്പോലെ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ നാള് വരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ നന്നായി അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

2. For, ye yourselves, perfectly well know that, the day of the Lord, as a thief in the night, so, cometh;

3. അവര് സമാധാനമെന്നും നിര്ഭയമെന്നും പറയുമ്പോള് ഗര്ഭിണിക്കു പ്രസവ വേദന വരുമ്പോലെ അവര്ക്കും പെട്ടെന്നു നാശം വന്നു ഭവിക്കും; അവര്ക്കും തെറ്റിയൊഴിയാവതുമല്ല.
യിരേമ്യാവു 31:33-34

3. As soon as they begin to say Peace! and safety! then, suddenly, upon them, cometh destruction, just as the birth-throe unto her that is with child, and in nowise shall they escape.

4. എന്നാല് സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ആനാള് കള്ളന് എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളെ പിടിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങള് ഇരുട്ടിലുള്ളവരല്ല;

4. But, ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that, the day, upon you, as upon thieves, should lay hold;

5. നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ മക്കളും പകലിന്റെ മക്കളും ആകുന്നു; നാം രാത്രിക്കും ഇരുളിന്നുമുള്ളവരല്ല.

5. For, all ye, are, sons of light, and sons of day, we are not of night, nor of darkness:

6. ആകയാല് നാം ശേഷമുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ ഉറങ്ങാതെ ഉണര്ന്നും സുബോധമായുമിരിക്ക.

6. Hence, then, let us not be sleeping, as the rest, but let us watch and be sober:

7. ഉറങ്ങുന്നവര് രാത്രിയില് ഉറങ്ങുന്നു. മദ്യപിക്കുന്നവര് രാത്രിയില് മദ്യപിക്കുന്നു.

7. For, they that sleep, by night, do sleep, and, they that drink, by night, do drink:

8. നാമോ പകലിന്നുള്ളവരാകയാല് വിശ്വാസവും സ്നേഹവും എന്ന കവചവും ശിരസ്ത്രമായി രക്ഷയുടെ പ്രത്യാശയും ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സുബോധമായിരിക്ക.

8. But, we, being of the day, let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and, for helmet, the hope of salvation.

9. ദൈവം നമ്മെ കോപത്തിന്നല്ല,

9. Because God did not appoint us unto anger, but unto acquiring salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ :

10. നാം ഉണര്ന്നിരുന്നാലും ഉറങ്ങിയാലും തന്നോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി മരിച്ച നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുമൂലം രക്ഷയെ പ്രാപിപ്പാനത്രേ നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു.

10. Who died for us, in order that, whether we be watching or sleeping, together with him, we should live.

11. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്തുവരുന്നതുപോലെ അന്യോന്യം പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചും തമ്മില് ആത്മിക വര്ദ്ധനവരുത്തിയും പോരുവിന് .

11. Wherefore be consoling one another, and building up, each the other, even as ye are also doing.

12. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കയും കര്ത്താവില് നിങ്ങളെ ഭരിക്കയും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ അറിഞ്ഞു അവരുടെ വേലനിമിത്തം

12. Now we request you, brethren, to know them who are toiling among you, and presiding over you, in the Lord, and admonishing you;

13. ഏറ്റവും സ്നേഹത്തോടെ വിചാരിക്കേണം എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. തമ്മില് സമാധാനമായിരിപ്പിന് .

13. And to hold them in very high esteem, in love, their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves,

14. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുക്രമം കെട്ടവരെ ബുദ്ധിയുപദേശിപ്പിന് ഉള്ക്കരുത്തില്ലാത്തവരെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുവിന് ; ബലഹീനരെ താങ്ങുവിന് ; എല്ലാവരോടും ദീര്ഘക്ഷമ കാണിപ്പിന് .

14. But we exhort you, brethren admonish the disorderly, soothe them of little soul, help the weak, be longsuffering towards all:

15. ആരും തിന്മകൂ പകരം തിന്മ ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാന് നോക്കുവിന് ; തമ്മിലും എല്ലാവരോടും എപ്പോഴും നന്മ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിപ്പിന് ;

15. See that none, evil for evil, unto any, do render: but, evermore, what is good, be pursuing, towards one another, and towards all:

16. എപ്പോഴും സന്തോഷിപ്പിന് ;

16. Evermore, rejoice,

17. ഇടവിടാതെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന്

17. Unceasingly, pray,

18. എല്ലാറ്റിന്നും സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്വിന് ; ഇതല്ലോ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവില് ദൈവേഷ്ടം.

18. In everything, give thanks, for, this, is a thing willed of God, in Christ Jesus, towards you:

19. ആത്മാവിനെ കെടുക്കരുതു.

19. The Spirit, do not quench,

20. പ്രവചനം തുച്ഛീകരിക്കരുതു.

20. Prophesyings, do not despise,

21. സകലവും ശോധന ചെയ്തു നല്ലതു മുറുകെ പിടിപ്പിന് .

21. But , all things, put to the proof what is comely, hold ye fast:

22. സകലവിധദോഷവും വിട്ടകലുവിന് .

22. From every form of wickedness, abstain.

23. സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദൈവം തന്നേ നിങ്ങളെ മുഴുവനും ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മാവും പ്രാണനും ദേഹവും അശേഷം നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതയില് അനിന്ദ്യമായി വെളിപ്പെടുംവണ്ണം കാക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ.

23. But, the God of peace himself, hallow you completely, and, entire, might your spirit, and soul, and body, so as to be unblameable in the Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, be preserved!

24. നിങ്ങളെ വിളിക്കുന്നവന് വിശ്വസ്തന് ആകുന്നു; അവന് അതു നിവര്ത്തിക്കും.

24. Faithful, is he that is calling you, who, also will perform.

25. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന് .

25. Brethren! be praying for us also .

26. സകല സഹോദരന്മാരെയും വിശുദ്ധചുംബനത്താല് വന്ദനം ചെയ്വിന് .

26. Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.

27. കര്ത്താവാണ, സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും ഈ ലേഖനം വായിച്ചു കേള്പ്പിക്കേണം.

27. I adjure you, by the Lord, that the letter be read unto all the brethren!

28. നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ കൃപ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

28. The favour of our Lord Jesus Christ, be with you.
