1. എന്നാല് സകലമനുഷ്യര്ക്കും നാം സര്വ്വഭക്തിയോടും ഘനത്തോടും കൂടെ സാവധാനതയും സ്വസ്ഥതയുമുള്ള ജീവനം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

1. First of all, then, I exhort that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

2. വിശേഷാല് രാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും സകല അധികാരസ്ഥന്മാര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി യാചനയും പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയും പക്ഷവാദവും സ്തോത്രവും ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ഞാന് സകലത്തിന്നും മുമ്പെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

2. for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

3. അതു നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് നല്ലതും പ്രസാദകരവും ആകുന്നു.

3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

4. അവന് സകലമനുഷ്യരും രക്ഷപ്രാപിപ്പാനും സത്യത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തില് എത്തുവാനും ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

4. who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

5. ദൈവം ഒരുവനല്ലോ. ദൈവത്തിന്നും മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും മദ്ധ്യസ്ഥനും ഒരുവന്

5. For God is one, and there is one Mediator of God and of men, the Man Christ Jesus,

6. എല്ലാവര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി മറുവിലയായി തന്നെത്താന് കൊടുത്ത മനുഷ്യനായ ക്രിസ്തുയേശു തന്നേ.

6. who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

7. തക്കസമയത്തു അറിയിക്കേണ്ടിയ ഈ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി ഞാന് പ്രസംഗിയും അപ്പൊസ്തലനുമായി — ഭോഷ്കല്ല, പരമാര്ത്ഥം തന്നേ പറയുന്നു — ജാതികളെ വിശ്വാസവും സത്യവും ഉപദേശിപ്പാന് നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. To this I am ordained a preacher and an apostle (I speak the truth in Christ, I do not lie), a teacher of the nations, in faith and truth.

8. ആകയാല് പുരുഷന്മാര് എല്ലാടത്തും കോപവും വാഗ്വാദവും വിട്ടകുന്നു വിശുദ്ധകൈകളെ ഉയര്ത്തി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

8. Therefore, I desire that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

9. അവ്വണ്ണം സ്ത്രീകളും യോഗ്യമായ വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു ലജ്ജാശീലത്തോടും സുബോധത്തോടുംകൂടെ തങ്ങളെ അലങ്കരിക്കേണം.

9. In the same way also, I desire that women adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and sensibleness, not adorned with braiding, or gold, or pearls, or costly clothing,

10. പിന്നിയ തലമുടി, പൊന്നു, മുത്തു, വിലയേറിയ വസ്ത്രം എന്നിവകൊണ്ടല്ല, ദൈവഭക്തിയെ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകള്ക്കു ഉചിതമാകുംവണ്ണം സല്പ്രവൃത്തികളെക്കെണ്ടത്രേ അലങ്കരിക്കേണ്ടതു.

10. but with good works, which becomes women professing godliness.

11. സ്ത്രീ മൌനമായിരുന്നു പൂര്ണ്ണാനുസരണത്തോടും കൂടെ പഠിക്കട്ടെ.

11. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12. മൌനമായിരിപ്പാന് അല്ലാതെ ഉപദേശിപ്പാനോ പുരുഷന്റെമേല് അധികാരം നടത്തുവാനോ ഞാന് സ്ത്രീയെ അനുവദിക്കുന്നില്ല.

12. But I do not allow a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence.

13. ആദാം ആദ്യം നിര്മ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ടു, പിന്നെ ഹവ്വ;
ഉല്പത്തി 1:27, ഉല്പത്തി 2:7, ഉല്പത്തി 2:22

13. For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14. ആദാം അല്ല, സ്ത്രീ അത്രേ വഞ്ചിക്കപ്പെട്ടു ലംഘനത്തില് അകപ്പെടരുതു.
ഉല്പത്തി 3:6, ഉല്പത്തി 3:13

14. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15. എന്നാല് വിശ്വാസത്തിലും സ്നേഹത്തിലും വിശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിലും സുബോധത്തോടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു എങ്കില് അവള് മക്കളെ പ്രസവിച്ചു രക്ഷ പ്രാപിക്കും

15. But she will be kept safe through childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with sensibleness.
