1. വാഴ്ചകള്ക്കും അധികാരങ്ങള്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങി അനുസരിപ്പാനും സകലസല്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കും ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാനും

1. Admonish them to be subject to princes and powers, to obey at a word, to be ready to every good work.

2. ആരെക്കൊണ്ടും ദൂഷണം പറയാതെയും കലഹിക്കാതെയും ശാന്തന്മാരായി സകലമനുഷ്യരോടും പൂര്ണ്ണസൌമ്യത കാണിപ്പാനും അവരെ ഔര്മ്മപ്പെടുത്തുക.

2. To speak evil of no man, not to be litigious, but gentle: shewing all mildness towards all men.

3. മുമ്പെ നാമും ബുദ്ധികെട്ടവരും അനുസരണമില്ലാത്തവരും വഴിതെറ്റി നടക്കുന്നവരും നാനാമോഹങ്ങള്ക്കും ഭോഗങ്ങള്ക്കും അധീനരും ഈര്ഷ്യയിലും അസൂയയിലും കാലം കഴിക്കുന്നവരും ദ്വേഷിതരും അന്യോന്യം പകെക്കുന്നവരും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

3. For we ourselves also were some time unwise, incredulous, erring, slaves to divers desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

4. എന്നാല് നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദയയും മനുഷ്യപ്രീതിയും ഉദിച്ചപ്പോള്

4. But when the goodness and kindness of God our Saviour appeared:

5. അവന് നമ്മെ നാം ചെയ്ത നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികളാലല്ല, തന്റെ കരുണപ്രകാരമത്രേ രക്ഷിച്ചതു.

5. Not by the works of justice, which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, by the laver of regeneration, and renovation of the Holy Ghost;

6. നാം അവന്റെ കൃപയാല് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു പ്രത്യാശപ്രകാരം നിത്യജീവന്റെ അവകാശികളായിത്തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു പുനര്ജ്ജനനസ്നാനം കൊണ്ടും

6. Whom he hath poured forth upon us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour:

7. നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ യേശു ക്രിസ്തുമൂലം നമ്മുടെമേല് ധാരാളമായി പകര്ന്ന പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ നവീകരണംകൊണ്ടും തന്നേ.

7. That, being justified by his grace, we may be heirs, according to hope of life everlasting.

8. ഈ വചനം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യം; ദൈവത്തില് വിശ്വസിച്ചവര് സല്പ്രവൃത്തികളില് ഉത്സാഹികളായിരിപ്പാന് കരുതേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പറയേണം എന്നു ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു ശുഭവും മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും ഉപകാരവും ആകുന്നു.

8. It is a faithful saying: and these things I will have thee affirm constantly: that they, who believe in God, may be careful to excel in good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

9. മൌഢ്യതര്ക്കവും വംശാവലികളും കലഹവും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാദവും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുനില്ക്ക. ഇവ നിഷ്പ്രയോജനവും വ്യര്ത്ഥവുമല്ലോ.

9. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law. For they are unprofitable and vain.

10. സഭയില് ഭിന്നത വരുത്തുന്ന മനുഷ്യനോടു ഒന്നു രണ്ടു വട്ടം ബുദ്ധി പറഞ്ഞശേഷം അവനെ ഒഴിക്ക;

10. A man that is a heretic, after the first and second admonition, avoid:

11. ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന് വക്രബുദ്ധിയായി പാപം ചെയ്തു തന്നെത്താന് കുറ്റം വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിനക്കു അറിയാമല്ലോ.

11. Knowing that he, that is such an one, is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned by his own judgment.

12. ഞാന് അര്ത്തെമാസിനെയോ തിഹിക്കൊസിനെയോ അങ്ങോട്ടു അയക്കുമ്പോള് നിക്കൊപ്പൊലിസില് വന്നു എന്നോടു ചേരുവാന് ശ്രമിക്ക. അവിടെ ഞാന് ശീതകാലം കഴിപ്പാന് നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. When I shall send to thee Artemas or Tychicus, make haste to come unto me to Nicopolis. For there I have determined to winter.

13. ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിയായ സേനാസിന്നു അപ്പൊല്ലോസിന്നും ഒരു മുട്ടും വരാതവണ്ണം ഉത്സാഹിച്ചു വഴിയാത്ര അയക്ക.

13. Send forward Zenas, the lawyer, and Apollo, with care, that nothing be wanting to them.

14. നമുക്കുള്ളവരും ഫലമില്ലാത്തവര് ആകാതെ അത്യാവശ്യസംഗതികളില് സല്പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കു മുമ്പരായിരിപ്പാന് പഠിക്കട്ടെ.

14. And let our men also learn to excel in good works for necessary uses: that they be not unfruitful.

15. എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവര് എല്ലാവരും നിനക്കു വന്ദനം ചെല്ലുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളെ വിശ്വാസത്തില് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും വന്ദനം ചൊല്ലുക. കൃപ നിങ്ങളോടെല്ലാവരോടുംകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ

15. All that are with me salute thee: salute them that love us in the faith. The grace of God be with you all. Amen.
