1. യോസേഫിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനായ മനശ്ശെയുടെ ഗോത്രത്തിന്നും ഔഹരി കിട്ടി; മനശ്ശെയുടെ ആദ്യജാതനും ഗിലെയാദിന്റെ അപ്പനും ആയ മാഖീര് യുദ്ധവീരനായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു ഗിലെയാദും ബാശാനും ലഭിച്ചു.

1. There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh (for he was the first-born of Joseph); for Machir, the first-born of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.

2. മനശ്ശെയുടെ ശേഷം പുത്രന്മാരായ അബീയേസെരിന്റെ മക്കള്, ഹേലെക്കിന്റെ മക്കള്, അസ്രീയേലിന്റെ മക്കള്, ശേഖെമിന്റെ മക്കള്, ഹേഫെരിന്റെ മക്കള്, ശെമീദാവിന്റെ മക്കള് എന്നിവര്ക്കും കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ഔഹരി കിട്ടി; ഇവര് കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി യോസേഫിന്റെ മകനായ മനശ്ശെയുടെ മക്കള് ആയിരുന്നു.

2. There was also a lot for the rest of the sons of Manasseh by their families: for the sons of Abiezer, and for the sons of Helek, and for the sons of Asriel, and for the sons of Shechem, and for the sons of Hepher, and for the sons of Shemida; these were the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, by their families.

3. എന്നാല് മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ മാഖീരിന്റെ മകനായ ഗിലെയാദിന്റെ മകനായ ഹേഫെരിന്റെ മകന് ശെലോഫഹാദിന്നു പുത്രിമാരല്ലാതെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ പുത്രിമാര്ക്കും; മഹ്ള, നോവ, ഹൊഗ്ള, മില്ക്ക, തിര്സ എന്നു പേരായിരുന്നു.

3. But Zelophehad the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters. And these were the names of his daughters: Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

4. അവര് പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസരിന്റെയും നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവയുടെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പില് അടുത്തുചെന്നുഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ഒരു അവകാശം ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു തരുവാന് യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവന് യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം അവരുടെ അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് അവര്ക്കും ഒരു അവകാശം കൊടുത്തു.

4. And they came near before Eleazar the priest and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the rulers, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers. And according to the command of Jehovah he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father.

5. ഇങ്ങനെ മനശ്ശെയുടെ പുത്രിമാര്ക്കും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് അവകാശം ലഭിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു മനശ്ശെക്കു യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ ഗിലെയാദ് ദേശവും ബാശാനും കൂടാതെ പത്തു ഔഹരി കിട്ടി.

5. And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;

6. മനശ്ശെയുടെ ശേഷം പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും ഗിലെയാദ് ദേശം കിട്ടി.

6. because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons. And the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.

7. മനശ്ശെയുടെ അതിരോ ആശേര്മുതല് ശേഖെമിന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള മിഖ് മെഥാത്ത്വരെ ചെന്നു വലത്തോട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞു ഏന് -തപ്പൂഹയിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ അടുക്കലോളം നീണ്ടുകിടക്കുന്നു.

7. And the border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah before Shechem. And the border went up to the right to the inhabitants of En-tappuah.

8. തപ്പൂഹദേശം മനശ്ശെക്കുള്ളതായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും മനശ്ശെയുടെ അതിരിലുള്ള തപ്പൂഹപട്ടണം എഫ്രയീമ്യര്ക്കും ഉള്ളതായിരുന്നു.

8. Manasseh had the land of Tappuah, but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the sons of Ephraim.

9. പിന്നെ ആ അതിര് കാനാതോട്ടിങ്കലേക്കു തോട്ടിന്റെ തെക്കുകൂടി ഇറങ്ങുന്നു. ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങള് മനശ്ശെയുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങള്ക്കിടയില് എഫ്രയീമിന്നുള്ളവ; മനശ്ശെയുടെ അതിര് തോട്ടിന്റെ വടക്കുവശത്തുകൂടി ചെന്നു സമുദ്രത്തിങ്കല് അവസാനിക്കുന്നു.

9. And the border went down to the river Kanah, southward of the river. These cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh. And the border of Manasseh was on the north of the river, and the boundary was at the sea.

10. തെക്കുഭാഗം എഫ്രയീമിന്നും വടക്കുഭാഗം മനശ്ശെക്കും ഉള്ളതു. സമുദ്രം അവന്റെ അതിര് ആകുന്നു;

10. Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's. And the sea is its border. And they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.

11. അതു വടക്കു ആശേരിനോടും കിഴക്കു യിസ്സാഖാരിനോടും തൊട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. യിസ്സാഖാരിലും ആശേരിലും മനശ്ശെക്കു ബേത്ത്-ശെയാനും അതിന്റെ അധീനനഗരങ്ങളും യിബ്ളെയാമും അതിന്റെ അധീനനഗരങ്ങളും ദോര്നിവാസികളും അതിന്റെ അധീനനഗരങ്ങളും ഏന് -ദോര്നിവാസികളും അതിന്റെ അധീനനഗരങ്ങളും താനാക് നിവാസികളും അതിന്റെ അധീനനഗരങ്ങളും മെഗിദ്ദോനിവാസികളും അതിന്റെ അധീനനഗരങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; മൂന്നു മേടുകള് തന്നേ.

11. And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Beth-shean and its towns, and Ibleam and its towns, and those who lived in Dor and its towns, and those who lived in Endor and its towns, and those who lived in Taanach and its towns, and those who lived in Megiddo and its towns, even three regions.

12. എന്നാല് മനശ്ശെയുടെ മക്കള്ക്കു ആ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലെ നിവാസികളെ നീക്കിക്കളവാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; കനാന്യര്ക്കും ആ ദേശത്തില് തന്നേ പാര്പ്പാനുള്ള താല്പര്യം സാധിച്ചു.

12. Yet the sons of Manasseh were not able to occupy these cities, but the Canaanites wanted to live in that land.

13. എന്നാല് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് ബലവാന്മാരായി തീര്ന്നപ്പോള് അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളയാതെ അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു ഊഴിയവേല ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

13. And it happened when the sons of Israel had become strong, they put the Canaanites to tribute. But they did not completely drive them out.

14. അനന്തരം യോസേഫിന്റെ മക്കള് യോശുവയോടുയഹോവ ഇതുവരെ ഞങ്ങളെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു ഞങ്ങള് ഒരു വലിയ ജനമായി തീര്ന്നിരിക്കെ ഒരു നറുക്കും ഔഹരിയും മാത്രം നീ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

14. The sons of Joseph spoke to Joshua saying, Why have you given me one lot and one portion to inherit, since I am a great people, because Jehovah has blessed me until now?

15. യോശുവ അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് വലിയൊരു ജനം എങ്കില് എഫ്രയീംപര്വ്വതം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വിസ്താരം പോരാത്തതാകകൊണ്ടു കാട്ടുപ്രദേശത്തു ചെന്നു പെരിസ്യരുടെയും മല്ലന്മാരുടെയും ദേശത്തു കാടുവെട്ടി സ്ഥലം എടുത്തു കൊള്വിന് എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And Joshua answered them, If you are a great people, and if mount Ephraim is too narrow for you, get up to the forest and cut down more for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants.

16. അതിന്നു യോസേഫിന്റെ മക്കള്മലനാടു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു പോരാ; ബേത്ത്-ശെയാനിലും അതിന്റെ അധീനനഗരങ്ങളിലും യിസ്രായേല് താഴ്വരയിലും ഇങ്ങനെ താഴ്വീതി പ്രദേശത്തു പാര്ക്കുംന്ന കനാന്യര്ക്കൊക്കെയും ഇരിമ്പു രഥങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. And the sons of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us. And all the Canaanites who live in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, those who are of Beth-shean and its towns, and those who are of the valley of Jezreel.

17. യോശുവ യോസേഫിന്റെ കുലമായ എഫ്രയീമിനോടും മനശ്ശെയോടും പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങള് വലിയോരു ജനം തന്നേ; മഹാശക്തിയും ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു ഔഹരിമാത്രമല്ല വരേണ്ടതു.

17. And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, You are a great people and have great power. You shall not have one lot.

18. മലനാടു നിനക്കുള്ളതു ആയിരിക്കേണം; അതു കാടാകുന്നു എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള് അതു വെട്ടിത്തെളിക്കേണം അതിന്റെ അറുതിപ്രദേശങ്ങളും നിങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ളവ തന്നേ; കനാന്യര് ഇരിമ്പുരഥങ്ങള് ഉള്ളവരും ബലവാന്മാരും ആകുന്നു എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള് അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളയും.

18. But the mountain shall be yours, for it is a forest, and you shall cut it down. And the outer limits of it shall be yours. For you shall drive out the Canaanites, even though they have iron chariots and though they are strong.
