1. ജനമൊക്കെയും യോര്ദ്ദാന് കടന്നുതീര്ന്നശേഷം യഹോവ യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാല്

1. After all the people had finished crossing the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua,

2. നിങ്ങള് ഔരോ ഗോത്രത്തില് നിന്നു ഔരോ ആള് വീതം ജനത്തില്നിന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെ കൂട്ടി അവരോടു

2. 'Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe.

3. യോര്ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവില് പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ കാല് ഉറച്ചുനിന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടു കല്ലു എടുത്തു കരെക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ഈ രാത്രി നിങ്ങള് പാര്ക്കുംന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു വെപ്പാന് കല്പിപ്പിന് .

3. Tell them to get twelve rocks from the middle of the river, from where the priests stood. Carry the rocks and put them down where you stay tonight.'

4. അങ്ങനെ യോശുവ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഔരോ ഗോത്രത്തില്നിന്നു ഔരോ ആള് വീതം നിയമിച്ചിരുന്ന പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെ വിളിച്ചു.

4. So Joshua chose one man from each tribe. Then he called the twelve men together

5. യോശുവ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുയോര്ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവില് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകത്തിന്നു മുമ്പില് ചെന്നു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രസംഖ്യകൂ ഒത്തവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളില് ഔരോരുത്തന് ഔരോ കല്ലു ചുമലില് എടുക്കേണം.

5. and said to them, 'Go out into the river where the Ark of the Lord your God is. Each of you bring back one rock, one for each tribe of Israel, and carry it on your shoulder.

6. ഇതു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഒരു അടയാളമായിരിക്കേണം; ഈ കല്ലു എന്തു എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള് വരുങ്കാലത്തു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോള്

6. They will be a sign among you. In the future your children will ask you, 'What do these rocks mean?'

7. യോര്ദ്ദാനിലെ വെള്ളം യഹോവയുടെ നിയമപെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് രണ്ടായി പിരിഞ്ഞതുനിമിത്തം തന്നേ എന്നു അവരോടു പറയേണം. അതു യോര്ദ്ദാനെ കടന്നപ്പോള് യോര്ദ്ദാനിലെ വെള്ളം രണ്ടായി പിരിഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു ഈ കല്ലു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു എന്നേക്കും ജ്ഞാപകമായിരിക്കേണം.

7. Tell them the water stopped flowing in the Jordan when the Ark of the Agreement with the Lord crossed the river. These rocks will always remind the Israelites of this.'

8. യോശുവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് ചെയ്തു; യഹോവ യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രസംഖ്യെക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം പന്ത്രണ്ടു കല്ലു യോര്ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവില്നിന്നു എടുത്തു തങ്ങള് പാര്ത്ത സ്ഥലത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി വെച്ചു.

8. So the Israelites obeyed Joshua and carried twelve rocks from the middle of the Jordan River, one rock for each of the twelve tribes of Israel, just as the Lord had commanded Joshua. They carried the rocks with them and put them down where they made their camp.

9. യോര്ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവിലും നിയമപെട്ടകം ചുമന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ കാല് നിന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു യോശുവ പന്ത്രണ്ടു കല്ലു നാട്ടി; അവ ഇന്നുവരെ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടു.

9. Joshua also put twelve rocks in the middle of the Jordan River where the priests had stood while carrying the Ark of the Agreement. These rocks are still there today.

10. മോശെ യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും ജനത്തോടു പറവാന് യഹോവ യോശുവയോടു കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്തുതീരുവോളം പെട്ടകം ചുമന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാര് യോര്ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവില് നിന്നു; ജനം വേഗത്തില് മറുകര കടന്നു.

10. The priests carrying the Ark continued standing in the middle of the river until everything was done that the Lord had commanded Joshua to tell the people, just as Moses had told Joshua. The people hurried across the river.

11. ജനമൊക്കെയും കടന്നു തീര്ന്നപ്പോള് ജനം കാണ്കെ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകവും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും മറുകര കടന്നു.

11. After they finished crossing the river, the priests carried the Ark of the Lord to the other side as the people watched.

12. മോശെ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നതുപോലെ രൂബേന്യരും ഗാദ്യരും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രവും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു മുമ്പായി യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി കടന്നു.

12. The men from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and East Manasseh obeyed what Moses had told them. They were dressed for war, and they crossed the river ahead of the other people.

13. ഏകദേശം നാല്പതിനായിരം പേര് യുദ്ധസന്നദ്ധരായി യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു യെരീഹോസമഭൂമിയില് കടന്നു.

13. About forty thousand soldiers prepared for war passed before the Lord as they marched across the river, going toward the plains of Jericho.

14. അന്നു യഹോവ യോശുവയെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും മുമ്പാകെ വലിയവനാക്കി;

14. That day the Lord made Joshua great in the opinion of all the Israelites. They respected Joshua all his life, just as they had respected Moses.

15. അവര് മോശെയെ ബഹുമാനിച്ചതുപോലെ അവനെയും അവന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലമൊക്കെയും ബഹുമാനിച്ചു.

15. Then the Lord said to Joshua,

16. യഹോവ യോശുവയോടുസാക്ഷ്യപെട്ടകം ചുമക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു യോര്ദ്ദാനില്നിന്നു കയറുവാന് കല്പിക്ക എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

16. 'Command the priests to bring the Ark of the Agreement out of the river.'

17. അങ്ങനെ യോശുവ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു യോര്ദ്ദാനില്നിന്നു കയറുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

17. So Joshua commanded the priests, 'Come up out of the Jordan.'

18. യഹോവയുടെ സാക്ഷ്യപെട്ടകം ചുമക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാര് യോര്ദ്ദാന്റെ നടുവില്നിന്നു കയറി; പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ ഉള്ളങ്കാല് കരെക്കു പൊക്കിവെച്ച ഉടനെ യോര്ദ്ദാനിലെ വെള്ളം വീണ്ടും അതിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു വന്നു മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ തീരം കവിഞ്ഞു ഒഴുകി.

18. Then the priests carried the Ark of the Agreement with the Lord out of the river. As soon as their feet touched dry land, the water began flowing again. The river again overflowed its banks, just as it had before they crossed.

19. ഒന്നാം മാസം പത്താം തിയ്യതി ജനം യോര്ദ്ദാനില്നിന്നു കയറി യെരീഹോവിന്റെ കിഴക്കെ അതിരിലുള്ള ഗില്ഗാലില് പാളയം ഇറങ്ങി.

19. The people crossed the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month and camped at Gilgal, east of Jericho.

20. യോര്ദ്ദാനില്നിന്നു എടുത്ത പന്ത്രണ്ടു കല്ലു യോശുവ ഗില്ഗാലില് നാട്ടി,

20. They carried with them the twelve rocks taken from the Jordan, and Joshua set them up at Gilgal.

21. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്; ഈ കല്ലു എന്തു എന്നു വരുങ്കാലത്തു നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള് പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചോദിച്ചാല്

21. Then he spoke to the Israelites: 'In the future your children will ask you, 'What do these rocks mean?'

22. യിസ്രായേല് ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്തുകൂടി ഈ യോര്ദ്ദാന്നിക്കരെ കടന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളോടു പറയേണം.

22. Tell them, 'Israel crossed the Jordan River on dry land.

23. ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജാതികളും യഹോവയുടെ കൈ ശക്തിയുള്ളതെന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ എന്നേക്കും ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു

23. The Lord your God caused the water to stop flowing until you finished crossing it, just as the Lord did to the Red Sea. He stopped the water until we crossed it.

24. ഞങ്ങള് ഇക്കരെ കടപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് ചെങ്കടല് വറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള് ഇക്കരെ കടപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് യോര്ദ്ദാനിലെ വെള്ളം വറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

24. The Lord did this so all people would know he has great power and so you would always respect the Lord your God.''
