1. മൂപ്പനായ ഞാന് സത്യത്തില് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന പ്രിയ ഗായൊസിന്നു എഴുതുന്നതു

2. പ്രിയനേ, നിന്റെ ആത്മാവു ശുഭമായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നീ സകലത്തിലും ശുഭമായും സുഖമായും ഇരിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാന് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.

2. Most dere brothir, of alle thingis Y make preyer, that thou entre, and fare welefuly, as thi soule doith welefuli.

3. സഹോദരന്മാര് വന്നു, നീ സത്യത്തില് നടക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിന്റെ സത്യത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറകയാല് ഞാന് അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

3. Y ioyede greetli, for britheren camen, and baren witnessing to thi treuthe, `as thou walkist in treuthe.

4. എന്റെ മക്കള് സത്യത്തില് നടക്കുന്നു എന്നു കേള്ക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാള് വലിയ സന്തോഷം എനിക്കില്ല.

6. അവര് സഭയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ അവരെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു യോഗ്യമാകുംവണ്ണം യാത്ര അയച്ചാല് നന്നായിരിക്കും.

7. തിരുനാമം നിമിത്തമല്ലോ അവര് ജാതികളോടു ഒന്നും വാങ്ങാതെ പുറപ്പെട്ടതു.

7. For thei wenten forth for his name, and token no thing of hethene men.

8. ആകയാല് നാം സത്യത്തിന്നു കൂട്ടുവേലക്കാര് ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ സല്കരിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

8. Therfor we owen to resseyue siche, that we be euen worcheris of treuthe.

9. സഭെക്കു ഞാന് ഒന്നെഴുതിയിരുന്നുഎങ്കിലും അവരില് പ്രധാനിയാകുവാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ദിയൊത്രെഫേസ് ഞങ്ങളെ കൂട്ടാക്കുന്നില്ല.

11. പ്രിയനേ, നന്മയല്ലാതെ തിന്മ അനുകരിക്കരുതു; നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നവന് ദൈവത്തില്നിന്നുള്ളവന് ആകുന്നു; തിന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നവന് ദൈവത്തെ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.

11. Moost dere brothir, nyle thou sue yuel thing, but that that is good thing. He that doith wel, is of God; he that doith yuel, seeth not God.

12. ദെമേത്രിയൊസിന്നു എല്ലാവരാലും സത്യത്താല് തന്നേയും സാക്ഷ്യം ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു; ഞങ്ങളും സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യം എന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നു.

12. Witnessing is yoldun to Demetrie of alle men, and of treuthe it silf; but also we beren witnessing, and thou knowist, that oure witnessing is trewe.
