1. അനന്തരം യഹോവ അവന്നു മമ്രേയുടെ തോപ്പില്വെച്ചു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; വെയിലുറെച്ചപ്പോള് അവന് കൂടാരവാതില്ക്കല് ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

1. And Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And he was sitting at the door of the tent in the heat of the day.

3. യജമാനനേ, എന്നോടു കൃപയുണ്ടെങ്കില് അടിയനെ കടന്നുപോകരുതേ.

3. And he said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in Your sight, I beg You, do not leave from near Your servant.

4. അസാരം വെള്ളം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലുകളെ കഴുകട്ടെ; വൃക്ഷത്തിന് കീഴില് ഇരിപ്പിന് .

4. Please allow a little water to be taken and You wash Your feet, and rest under the tree.

5. ഞാന് ഒരു മുറി അപ്പം കൊണ്ടുവരാം; വിശപ്പു അടക്കീട്ടു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പോകാം; ഇതിന്നായിട്ടല്ലോ നിങ്ങള് അടിയന്റെ അടുക്കല് കയറിവന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നീ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ആകട്ടെ എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

5. And I will bring a bite of bread and will sustain Your heart. Then You may pass on, for this is why You have passed over to Your servant. And they said, Do so, as you have said.

6. അബ്രഹാം ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു കൂടാരത്തില് സാറയുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുനീ ക്ഷണത്തില് മൂന്നിടങ്ങഴി മാവു എടുത്തു കുഴെച്ചു അപ്പമുണ്ടാക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. And Abraham ran into the tent to Sarah and said, Hurry, prepare three measures of fine meal, knead it and make cakes.

7. അബ്രാഹാം പശുക്കൂട്ടത്തില് ഔടിച്ചെന്നു ഇളയതും നല്ലതുമായൊരു കാളകൂട്ടിയെ പിടിച്ചു ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരന്റെ പക്കല് കൊടുത്തു; അവന് അതിനെ ക്ഷണത്തില് പാകം ചെയ്തു.

7. And Abraham ran to the herd and brought a son of the herd, tender and good, and gave it to a youth. And he hurried to prepare it.

8. പിന്നെ അവന് വെണ്ണയും പാലും താന് പാകം ചെയ്യിച്ച കാളകൂട്ടിയെയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചു. അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് വൃക്ഷത്തിന് കീഴില് ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു നിന്നു; അവര് ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു.

8. And he took curds and milk and the son of the herd which he had prepared, and he set before them. And he stood by them under the tree. And they ate.

9. അവര് അവനോടുനിന്റെ ഭാര്യ സാറാ എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുകൂടാരത്തില് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. And they said to him, Where is your wife Sarah? And he said, See, in the tent.

10. ഒരു ആണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞാന് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിവരും; അപ്പോള് നിന്റെ ഭാര്യ സാറെക്കു ഒരു മകന് ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു. സാറാ കൂടാരവാതില്ക്കല് അവന്റെ പിന് വശത്തു കേട്ടുകൊണ്ടു നിന്നു.

10. And He said, Returning I will return to you at the time of life; and, Behold! A son shall be to your wife Sarah. And Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, and it was behind Him.

11. എന്നാല് അബ്രാഹാമും സാറയും വയസ്സു ചെന്നു വൃദ്ധരായിരുന്നു. സ്ത്രീകള്ക്കുള്ള പതിവു സാറെക്കു നിന്നു പോയിരുന്നു.

11. And Abraham and Sarah were aged, going on in days. The custom as to women had ceased to be to Sarah.

12. ആകയാല് സാറാ ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടു ചിരിച്ചുവൃദ്ധയായിരിക്കുന്ന എനിക്കു സുഖഭോഗമുണ്ടാകുമോ? എന്റെ ഭര്ത്താവും വൃദ്ധനായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. And Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After my being old, shall there be pleasure to me; my lord also being old?

13. യഹോവ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടുവൃദ്ധയായ ഞാന് പ്രസവിക്കുന്നതു വാസ്തവമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു സാറാ ചിരിച്ചതു എന്തു?

13. And Jehovah said to Abraham, Why has Sarah laughed at this, saying, Indeed, truly shall I bear, even I who am old?

14. യഹോവയാല് കഴിയാത്ത കാര്യം ഉണ്ടോ? ഒരു ആണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഈ സമയമാകുമ്പോള് ഞാന് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിവരും; സാറെക്കു ഒരു മകന് ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

14. Is anything too difficult for Jehovah? At the appointed time I will return to you, at the time of life, and there will be a son to Sarah.

15. സാറാ ഭയപ്പെട്ടുഇല്ല, ഞാന് ചിരിച്ചില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെയല്ല, നീ ചിരിച്ചു എന്നു അവന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

15. And Sarah denied, saying, I did not laugh; for she was afraid. And He said, No, but you did laugh.

16. ആ പുരുഷന്മാര് അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു സൊദോംവഴിക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു; അബ്രാഹാം അവരെ യാത്ര അയപ്പാന് അവരോടുകൂടെ പോയി.

16. And the men rose up from there and looked on the face of Sodom. And Abraham was going with them, to send them away.

17. അപ്പോള് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഞാന് ചെയ്വാനിരിക്കുന്നതു അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു മറെച്ചുവെക്കുമോ?

17. And Jehovah said, Shall I hide from Abraham that which I am doing?

18. അബ്രാഹാം വലിയതും ബലമുള്ളതുമായ ജാതിയായി തീരുകയും അവനില് ഭൂമിയിലെ ജാതികളൊക്കെയും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുമല്ലോ.

18. And Abraham shall become a great and powerful nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

19. യഹോവ അബ്രാഹാമിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു അവന്നു നിവൃത്തിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അബ്രാഹാം തന്റെ മക്കളോടും തനിക്കു പിമ്പുള്ള കുടുംബത്തോടും നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവൃത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ വഴിയില് നടപ്പാന് കല്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അവനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

19. For I have known him, so that whatever he may command his sons and his house after him, even they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice; to the intent that Jehovah may bring on Abraham that which He has spoken of him.

20. പിന്നെ യഹോവസൊദോമിന്റെയും ഗൊമോരയുടെയും നിലവിളി വലിയതും അവരുടെ പാപം അതി കഠിനവും ആകുന്നു.

20. And Jehovah said, The cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and their sin is exceedingly heavy.

21. ഞാന് ചെന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നെത്തിയ നിലവിളിപോലെ അവര് കേവലം പ്രവൃത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു നോക്കി അറിയും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

21. I will go down and see if they have at all done according to the cry coming to Me. And if not, I will know.

22. അങ്ങനെ ആ പുരുഷന്മാര് അവിടെനിന്നു തിരിഞ്ഞു സൊദോമിലേക്കു പോയി. അബ്രാഹാമോ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് തന്നേ നിന്നു.

22. And the men faced around from there and went toward Sodom. And Abraham was still standing before Jehovah.

23. അബ്രാഹാം അടുത്തുചെന്നു പറഞ്ഞതുദുഷ്ടനോടുകൂടെ നീതിമാനെയും നീ സംഹരിക്കുമോ?

23. And Abraham drew near and said, Is it so? Will You cut off the righteous with the wicked?

24. പക്ഷേ ആ പട്ടണത്തില് അമ്പതു നീതിമാന്മാര് ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് നീ അതിനെ സംഹരിക്കുമോ? അതിലെ അമ്പതു നീതിമാന്മാര് നിമിത്തം ആ സ്ഥലത്തോടു ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ലയോ?

24. Perhaps there are fifty righteous within the city; is it so You will cut off and will not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous ones that are within it?

25. ഇങ്ങനെ നീ ഒരുനാളും ചെയ്യുന്നതല്ലല്ലോ? നീതിമാന് ദുഷ്ടനെപ്പോലെ ആകത്തക്കവണ്ണം ദുഷ്ടനോടുകൂടെ നീതിമാനെ നീ ഒരുനാളും കൊല്ലുകയില്ല. സര്വ്വ ഭൂമിക്കും ന്യായാധിപതിയായവന് നീതി പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?
എബ്രായർ 12:23

25. Far be it from You to act in this way, to put to death the righteous with the wicked. Far be it from You. The Judge of all the earth, shall He not do right?

26. അതിന്നു യഹോവഞാന് സൊദോമില്, പട്ടണത്തിന്നകത്തു, അമ്പതു നീതിമാന്മാരെ കാണുന്നു എങ്കില് അവരുടെ നിമിത്തം ആ സ്ഥലത്തോടൊക്കെയും ക്ഷമിക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

26. And Jehovah said, If I find fifty righteous within the city, in Sodom, then I will spare all the place because of them.

27. പൊടിയും വെണ്ണീറുമായ ഞാന് കര്ത്താവിനോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് തുനിഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

27. And Abraham answered and said, Behold, I pray, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord, and I am dust and ash.

28. അമ്പതു നീതിമാന്മാരില് പക്ഷേ അഞ്ചുപേര് കുറഞ്ഞു പോയെങ്കിലോ? അഞ്ചുപേര് കുറഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു നീ ആ പട്ടണം മുഴുവനും നശിപ്പിക്കുമോ എന്നു അബ്രാഹാം പറഞ്ഞതിന്നുനാല്പത്തഞ്ചു പേരെ ഞാന് അവിടെ കണ്ടാല് അതിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

28. Perhaps there will be lacking five from the fifty righteous, will You destroy all the city for the five? And He said, If I find forty five there, I will not destroy.

29. അവന് പിന്നെയും അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ചുപക്ഷേ നാല്പതുപേരെ അവിടെ കണ്ടാലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നുഞാന് നാല്പതുപേരുടെ നിമിത്തം നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

29. And he continued still to speak to Him and said, Perhaps forty will be found there. And He said, I will not do it because of the forty.

30. അതിന്നു അവന് ഞാന് പിന്നെയും സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; കര്ത്താവു കോപിക്കരുതേ; പക്ഷേ മുപ്പതുപേരെ അവിടെ കണ്ടാലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഞാന് മുപ്പതുപേരെ അവിടെ കണ്ടാല് നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

30. And he said, Please do not my Lord be angry, that I may speak; perhaps thirty will be found there. And He said, I will not do it if I find thirty there.

31. ഞാന് കര്ത്താവിനോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് തുനിഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; പക്ഷേ ഇരുപതുപേരെ അവിടെ കണ്ടാലോ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതിന്നുഞാന് ഇരുപതുപേരുടെ നിമിത്തം നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

31. And he said, Behold, I pray, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord; perhaps twenty will be found there. And He said, I will not destroy because of the twenty.

32. അപ്പോള് അവന് കര്ത്താവു കോപിക്കരുതേ; ഞാന് ഇനി ഒരു പ്രാവശ്യം മാത്രം സംസാരിക്കും; പക്ഷേ പത്തു പേരെ അവിടെ കണ്ടാലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഞാന് പത്തുപേരുടെ നിമിത്തം നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

32. And he said, I pray, let not my Lord be angry that I may speak only this time; perhaps ten will be found there. And He said, I will not destroy because of the ten.

33. യഹോവ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു തീര്ന്നശേഷം അവിടെനിന്നു പോയി. അബ്രാഹാമും തന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

33. And when Jehovah had left off speaking to Abraham, He was finished. And Abraham returned to his place.
