1. അബ്രാഹാം വയസ്സുചെന്നു വൃദ്ധനായി; യഹോവ അബ്രാഹാമിനെ സകലത്തിലും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നു.

1. Now, Abraham, was old, far gone in days, and, Yahweh, had blessed Abraham, in all things.

2. തന്റെ വീട്ടില് മൂപ്പനും തനിക്കുള്ളതിന്നൊക്കെയും വിചാരകനുമായ ദാസനോടു അബ്രാഹാം പറഞ്ഞതുനിന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ തുടയിന് കീഴില് വെക്കുക;

2. So Abraham said unto his servant, elder of his house, ruler of all that he had, Place, I pray thee thy hand under my thigh;

3. ചുറ്റും പാര്ക്കുംന്ന കനാന്യരുടെ കന്യകമാരില്നിന്നു നീ എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കാതെ,

3. that I may put thee on oath, by Yahweh God of the heavens and God of the earth That thou wilt not take a wife for my son, from among the daughters of the Canaanites in the midst of whom, I, am dwelling:

4. എന്റെ ദേശത്തും എന്റെ ചാര്ച്ചക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു എന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കുമെന്നു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിന്നും ഭൂമിക്കും ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ഞാന് നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിക്കും.

4. but unto my own land and unto my own kindred, wilt go, So shalt thou take a wife for my son for Isaac.

5. ദാസന് അവനോടുപക്ഷേ സ്ത്രീക്കു എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഈ ദേശത്തേക്കു വരുവാന് മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കിലോ? നീ വിട്ടുപോന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു ഞാന് നിന്റെ മകനെ മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

5. And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman may not be willing to follow me into this land, May I take back thy son, into the land from whence thou earnest?

6. അബ്രാഹാം അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്റെ മകനെ അവിടെക്കു മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകാതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

6. And Abraham said unto him, Beware that thou do not take back my son thither!

7. എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തില്നിന്നും ജന്മദേശത്തുനിന്നും എന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നവനും എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തവനും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കു ഞാന് ഈ ദേശം കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തവനുമായി സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്റെ മകന്നു നീ ഒരു ഭാര്യയെ അവിടെനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി തന്റെ ദൂതനെ അയക്കും.

7. Yahweh, God of the heavens, and God of the earth, who took me out of the house of my father, and out of the land of my kindred, and, who spake to me, and who sware to me, saying, To thy seed, will I give this land, he, will send his messenger before thee, so shalt then take a wife for my son from thence.

8. എന്നാല് സ്ത്രീക്കു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ വരുവാന് മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കില് നീ ഈ സത്യത്തില് നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും; എന്റെ മകനെ അവിടേക്കു മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുപോക മാത്രം അരുതു.

8. But if unwilling be the woman to follow thee, then shalt thou be clear from this mine oath, Only my son, shalt thou not take back thither

9. അപ്പോള് ദാസന് തന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ തുടയിന് കീഴില് കൈവെച്ചു അങ്ങനെ അവനോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തു.

9. So the servant placed his hand, under the thigh of Abraham, his lord, and sware to him, over this thing.

10. അനന്തരം ആ ദാസന് തന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങളില് പത്തു ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെയും യജമാനന്നുള്ള വിവിധമായ വിശേഷവസ്തുക്കളെയും കൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു മെസൊപ്പൊത്താമ്യയില് നാഹോരിന്റെ പട്ടണത്തില് ചെന്നു.

10. Then took the servant ten camels, from among the camels of his lord, and went his way, all the goods of his master being in his hand, so be mounted, and went his way unto Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.

11. വൈകുന്നേരം സ്ത്രീകള് വെള്ളം കോരുവാന് വരുന്ന സമയത്തു അവന് ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു ഒരു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ നിറുത്തി പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

11. And he made the camels kneel down outside the city, against the well of water, at the time of evening, at the time of the coming forth of the women that drew water,

12. എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു കൃപചെയ്തു ഇന്നുതന്നെ കാര്യം സാധിപ്പിച്ചുതരേണമേ.

12. Then he said, O Yahweh, God of my lord Abraham! I pray thee cause it to fall out before me today, that thou deal in lovingkindness with my lord Abraham.

13. ഇതാ, ഞാന് കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ നിലക്കുന്നു; ഈ പട്ടണക്കാരുടെ കന്യകമാര് വെള്ളം കോരുവാന് വരുന്നു.

13. Here am, I, stationed by the fountain of water, and, the daughters of the men of the city, are coming forth to draw water:

14. നിന്റെ പാത്രം ഇറക്കി എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് തരേണം എന്നു ഞാന് പറയുമ്പോള്കുടിക്ക; നിന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കാമെന്നു പറയുന്ന സ്ത്രീ തന്നേ നീ നിന്റെ ദാസനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു നിയമിച്ചവളായിരിക്കട്ടെ; നീ എന്റെ യജമാനനോടു കൃപ ചെയ്തു എന്നു ഞാന് അതിനാല് ഗ്രഹിക്കും.

14. so it shall come to pass that the young woman unto whom I shall say. Let down pray. thy pitcher that I may drink, and she shall say, Drink, and to thy camels also, will I give to drink, that, her! hast thou appointed for thy servant for Isaac, And, hereby, shall I get to know, that thou hast dealt in lovingkindness with my lord!

15. അവന് പറഞ്ഞു തീരുംമുമ്പെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ നാഹോരിന്റെ ഭാര്യ മില്ക്കയുടെ മകന് ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ മകള് റിബെക്കാ തോളില് പാത്രവുമായി വന്നു.

15. And it came to pass, ere yet, he, had done speaking, that lo! Rebekah, was coming forth who had been born to Bethuel son of Milcah, wife of Nahor, brother of Abraham, with her pitcher upon her shoulder,

16. ബാല അതിസുന്ദരിയും പുരുഷന് തൊടാത്ത കന്യകയും ആയിരുന്നു; അവള് കിണറ്റില് ഇറങ്ങി പാത്രം നിറച്ചു കയറിവന്നു.

16. Now the young woman! was of very pleasing appearance, a virgin whom, no man, had known, and she went down unto the fountain, and filled her pitcher and came up.

17. ദാസന് വേഗത്തില് അവളെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നുനിന്റെ പാത്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളം കുറെ എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. And the servant ran to meet her, and said, I pray thee let me drink a little water out of thy pitcher.

18. യജമാനനേ, കുടിക്ക എന്നു അവള് പറഞ്ഞു വേഗം പാത്രം കയ്യില് ഇറക്കി അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുത്തു.

18. And she said, Drink my lord, And she hastened and lowered her pitcher on her hand and let him drink.

19. അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുത്ത ശേഷംനിന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും വേണ്ടുവോളം ഞാന് കോരിക്കൊടുക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു,

19. And when she had done giving him drink, she said For thy camels also, will I draw, until they have done drinking.

20. പാത്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളം വേഗം തൊട്ടിയില് ഒഴിച്ചു, പിന്നെയും കോരിക്കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് കിണറ്റിലേക്കു ഔടി ഇറങ്ങി അവന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും എല്ലാം കോരിക്കൊടുത്തു.

20. So she hastened and emptied her pitcher into the drinking-trough, and ran again unto the well, to draw, and she drew for all his camels.

21. ആ പുരുഷന് അവളെ ഉറ്റുനോക്കി, യഹോവ തന്റെ യാത്രയെ സഫലമാക്കിയോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

21. Now the man, was eagerly watching her, keeping silence to see whether Yahweh had prospered his way., or not.

22. ഒട്ടകങ്ങള് കുടിച്ചു തീര്ന്നപ്പോള് അവന് അര ശേക്കെല് തൂക്കമുള്ള ഒരു പൊന്മൂകൂത്തിയും അവളുടെ കൈക്കിടുവാന് പത്തു ശേക്കെല് തൂക്കമുള്ള രണ്ടു പൊന് വളയും എടുത്തു അവളോടു

22. And it came to pass when the camels had done drinking, that the man took a ring of gold, half a shekel its weight, and two bracelets for her hands, ten of gold their weight;

23. നീ ആരുടെ മകള്? പറക; നിന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടില് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു രാപാര്പ്പാന് സ്ഥലമുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

23. and said Whose daughter art, thou? I pray thee, tell me. Is there in the house of thy father a place for us to tarry the night?

24. അവള് അവനോടുനാഹോരിന്നു മില്ക്കാ പ്രസവിച്ച മകനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ മകള് ആകുന്നു ഞാന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And she said unto him, Daughter of Bethuel, am, I, Bethuel son of Milcah whom she bare to Nahor.

25. ഞങ്ങളുടെയവിടെ വയ്ക്കോലും തീനും വേണ്ടുവോളം ഉണ്ടു; രാപാര്പ്പാന് സ്ഥലവും ഉണ്ടു എന്നും അവള് പറഞ്ഞു.

25. And she said unto him, Both straw and fodder in plenty, have we, also a place to tarry the night.

26. അപ്പോള് ആ പുരുഷന് കുനിഞ്ഞു യഹോവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു

26. Then the man bowed his head, and bent himself down unto Yahweh;

27. എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; അവന് എന്റെ യജമാനനോടുള്ള ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ഈ യാത്രയില് യഹോവ എന്നെ എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. and said, Blessed be Yahweh. God of my lord Abraham, who hath not withdrawn his lovingkindness and his faithfulness, from my lord, I being in the way, Yahweh led me unto the house of the brethren of my lord!

28. ബാല ഔടിച്ചെന്നു അമ്മയുടെ വീട്ടുകാരെ ഈ വസ്തുത അറിയിച്ചു.

28. And the young woman ran, and told the household of her mother, according to these words.

29. റിബെക്കെക്കു ഒരു സഹോദരന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന്നു ലാബാന് എന്നു പേര്. ലാബാന് പുറത്തു കിണറ്റിങ്കല് ആ പുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഔടിച്ചെന്നു.

29. Now, Rebekah, had a brother, whose name, was Laban, so Laban ran unto the man outside, unto the fountain.

30. അവന് മൂകൂത്തിയും സഹോദരിയുടെ കൈമേല് വളയും കാണുകയും ആ പുരുഷന് ഇന്നപ്രകാരം എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു തന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ റിബെക്കയുടെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കയും ചെയ്തപ്പോള് ആ പുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു; അവന് കിണറ്റിങ്കല് ഒട്ടകങ്ങളുടെ അരികെ നില്ക്കയായിരുന്നു.

30. And it came to pass, when he saw the ring, and the bracelets on the hands of his sister, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister saying, Thus, did the man speak unto me, that he came unto the man, and lo! he was standing by the camels near the fountain;

31. അപ്പോള് അവന് യഹോവയാല് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനേ, അകത്തു വരിക; എന്തിന്നു പുറത്തു നിലക്കുന്നു? വീടും ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കു സ്ഥലവും ഞാന് ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. and he said, Come in. thou blessed of Yahweh, Wherefore shouldst thou stand outside, when I have made ready the house and a place for the camels?

32. അങ്ങനെ ആ പുരുഷന് വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു. അവന് ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെ കോപ്പഴിച്ചു ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കു വയ്ക്കോലും തീനും അവന്നും കൂടെയുള്ളവര്ക്കും കാലുകളെ കഴുകുവാന് വെള്ളവും കൊടുത്തു, അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഭക്ഷണം വെച്ചു.

32. So the man came in towards the house, and ungirded the camels, and there was given him straw and fodder for the camels, and water for bathing his own feet and the feet of the men who were with him;

33. ഞാന് വന്ന കാര്യം അറിയിക്കും മുമ്പെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു. പറക എന്നു അവനും പറഞ്ഞു.

33. and food was set before him to eat, But he said, I cannot eat, until I have spoken my words. And he said Speak!

34. അപ്പോള് അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുഞാന് അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദാസന് .

34. Then said he, Servant of Abraham, am I.

35. യഹോവ എന്റെ യജമാനനെ ഏറ്റവും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവന് മഹാനായിത്തീര്ന്നു; അവന് അവന്നു ആടു, മാടു, പൊന്നു, വെള്ളി, ദാസീദാസന്മാര്, ഒട്ടകങ്ങള് കഴുതകള് എന്നീവകയൊക്കെയും കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

35. Now, Yahweh, having blessed my lord exceedingly, and made him great, and given him flocks and herds and silver and gold, and men-servants and maid-servants, and camels, and asses,

36. എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറാ വൃദ്ധയായശേഷം എന്റെ യജമാനന്നു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; അവന് തനിക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും അവന്നു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

36. then did Sarah wife of my lord, bear a son to my lord, after she had become old, so he gave to him all that he had;

37. ഞാന് പാര്ക്കുംന്ന കനാന് ദേശത്തിലെ കനാന്യ കന്യകമാരില്നിന്നു നീ എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കാതെ,

37. And my lord put me on oath saying, Thou shalt not take a wife for my son, of the daughters of the Canaanites in whose land, I, am dwelling;

38. എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിലും വംശക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കേണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യജമാനന് എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

38. but, unto the house of my father, shalt thou go, and unto my family, and take a wife for my son.

39. ഞാന് യജമാനനോടുപക്ഷേ സ്ത്രീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ പേരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു അവന് എന്നോടു

39. So I said unto my lord, Peradventure the woman will not follow me.

40. ഞാന് സേവിച്ചുപോരുന്ന യഹോവ തന്റെ ദൂതനെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ അയച്ചു, നീ എന്റെ വംശത്തില്നിന്നും പിതൃഭവനത്തില്നിന്നും എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്റെ യാത്രയെ സഫലമാക്കും;

40. And he said unto me, Yahweh, before whom I have walked to and fro, will send his messenger with thee, so shall he prosper thy way, and thou shalt take a wife for my son out of my kindred and out of the house of my father.

41. എന്റെ വംശക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നാല് നീ ഈ സത്യത്തില്നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും; അവര് നിനക്കു തരുന്നില്ല എന്നു വരികിലും നീ ഈ സത്യത്തില് നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. Then, shalt thou clear thyself from mine oath, for thou shalt go in unto my kindred, and, if they will not grant her unto thee, then shalt thou be clear from mine oath.

42. ഞാന് ഇന്നു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ വന്നപ്പോള് പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഞാന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ യാത്രയെ നീ സഫലമാക്കി എങ്കില്--

42. So I came in to-day, unto the fountain, and I said O Yahweh God of my lord Abraham! if, I pray thee thou art prospering my way whereon am going,

43. ഇതാ, ഞാന് കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ നിലക്കുന്നു; വെള്ളം കോരുവാന് ഒരു കന്യക വരികയും ഞാന് അവളോടുനിന്റെ പാത്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളം കുറെ എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് തരിക എന്നു പറയുമ്പോള്, അവള് എന്നോടുകുടിക്ക,

43. here, am I stationed by the fountain of water, so then it shall come to pass that, the maiden that is coming forth to draw, and I shall say unto her Let me drink. I pray thee a little water out of thy pitcher;

44. ഞാന് നിന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും കോരി കൊടുക്കാമെന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്താല് അവള് തന്നേ യഹോവ എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകന്നു നിയമിച്ച സ്ത്രീയായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

44. and she shall say unto me Both, thou, drink, and for thy camels also, will I draw, the same, shall be the woman whom Yahweh hath appointed for the son of my lord.

45. ഞാന് ഇങ്ങനെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പറഞ്ഞു തീരുമ്മുമ്പെ ഇതാ, റിബെക്കാ തോളില് പാത്രവുമായി വന്നു കിണറ്റില് ഇറങ്ങി വെള്ളം കോരി; ഞാന് അവളോടുഎനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

45. Ere yet, I, could make an end of speaking unto mine own heart, lo! then Rebekah, coming forth, with her pitcher on her shoulder, and she went down to the fountain, and drew, and I said unto her Let me drink I pray thee!

46. അവള് വേഗം തോളില്നിന്നു പാത്രം ഇറക്കികുടിക്ക, ഞാന് നിന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് കുടിച്ചു; അവള് ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുത്തു.

46. So she hastened and lowered her pitcher from off her, and said. Drink! and to thy camels also, will I give to drink, So I drank and the camels also, she let drink.

47. ഞാന് അവളോടുനീ ആരുടെ മകള് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവള്മില്ക്കാ നാഹോറിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച മകനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ മകള് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഞാന് അവളുടെ മൂക്കിന്നു മൂകൂത്തിയും കൈകള്ക്കു വളയും ഇട്ടു.

47. Then I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she said Daughter of Bethuel son of Nahor, whom, Milcah, bare to him, Then put I the ring upon her nose, and the bracelets upon her hands;

48. ഞാന് കുനിഞ്ഞു യഹോവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു, എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ മകളെ അവന്റെ മകന്നായിട്ടു എടുപ്പാന് എന്നെ നേര്വ്വഴിക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നവനായി എന്റെ യജമാനന് അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ വാഴ്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.

48. and bowed my head and bent myself down unto Yahweh, and I blessed Yahweh God of my lord Abraham, who had led me in a way of faithfulness, to take the daughter of the brother of my lord for his son.

49. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ യജമാനനോടു ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും കാണിക്കുമെങ്കില് എന്നോടു പറവിന് ; അല്ല എന്നു വരികില് അതും പറവിന് ; എന്നാല് ഞാന് ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ തിരിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളാം.

49. Now, therefore, if ye are dealing in lovingkindness and faithfulness with my lord, tell me, and, if not, tell me, that I may turn unto the right hand or unto the left.

50. അപ്പോള് ലാബാനും ബെഥൂവേലുംഈ കാര്യം യഹോവയാല് വരുന്നു; നിന്നോടു ഗുണമെങ്കിലും ദോഷമെങ്കിലും പറവാന് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു കഴികയില്ല.

50. Then answered Laban and Bethuel and said, from Yahweh, hath come forth the word, we cannot speak unto thee ill or well.

51. ഇതാ, റിബെക്കാ നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോക; യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവള് നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയാകട്ടെ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

51. Go! Rebekah, is before thee, Take her and go thy way, And let her become wife unto the son of thy lord, as Yahweh hath spoken.

52. അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദാസന് അവരുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടപ്പോള് യഹോവയെ സാഷ്ടാംഗം നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

52. And it came to pass when Abraham's servant heard their words, that he bowed himself down towards the earth unto Yahweh.

53. പിന്നെ ദാസന് വെള്ളിയാഭരണങ്ങളും പൊന്നാഭരണങ്ങളും വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും എടുത്തു റിബെക്കെക്കു കൊടുത്തു; അവളുടെ സഹോദരന്നും അമ്മെക്കും വിശേഷവസ്തുക്കള് കൊടുത്തു.

53. Then the servant brought forth jewels of silver and jewels of gold and raiment, and gave unto Rebekah, and precious things, gave he to her brother and to her mother.

54. അവനും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തു രാപാര്ത്തു. രാവിലെ അവര് എഴുന്നേറ്റശേഷം അവന് എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കല് എന്നെ അയക്കേണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

54. And they did eat and drink he, and the men who were with him, and they tarried the night, and when they arose in the morning, he said Let me go unto my lord!

55. അതിന്നു അവളുടെ സഹോദരനും അമ്മയുംബാല ഒരു പത്തുദിവസമെങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പാര്ത്തിട്ടു പിന്നെ പോരട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

55. Then said her brother and her mother, Let the young woman remain with us some days or rather ten, After that, she shall go.

56. അവന് അവരോടുഎന്നെ താമസിപ്പിക്കരുതേ; യഹോവ എന്റെ യാത്ര സഫലമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കല് പോകുവാന് എന്നെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

56. And he said unto them, Do not hinder me, when, Yahweh, hath prospered my journey, Let me go, that I may take my journey unto my lord!

57. ഞങ്ങള് ബാലയെ വിളിച്ചു അവളോടു ചോദിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

57. Then said they, We must call the young woman and ask at her mouth.

58. അവര് റിബെക്കയെ വിളിച്ചു അവളോടുനീ ഈ പുരുഷനോടുകൂടെ പോകുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ഞാന് പോകുന്നു എന്നു അവള് പറഞ്ഞു.

58. So they called Rebekah and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.

59. അങ്ങനെ അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരിയായ റിബെക്കയെയും അവളുടെ ധാത്രിയെയും അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദാസനെയും അവന്റെ ആളുകളെയും പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

59. So they let go Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant and his men.

60. അവര് റിബെക്കയെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവളോടുസഹോദരീ, നീ അനേകായിരമായി തീരുക; നിന്റെ സന്തതി, തന്നെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരുടെ പടിവാതില് കൈവശമാക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

60. And they blessed Rebekah and said to her, Our sister! become thou, thousands of ten thousands, And let thy seed take possession of the gate of them that hate them!

61. പിന്നെ റിബെക്കയും അവളുടെ ദാസിമാരും എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തു കയറി ആ പുരുഷനോടുകൂടെ പോയി; അങ്ങനെ ദാസന് റിബെക്കയെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

61. Then mounted Rebekah and her young woman and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man, so the servant took Rebekah. and went his way.

62. എന്നാല് യിസ്ഹാക് ബേര്ലഹയിരോയീവരെ വന്നു; അവന് തെക്കേദേശത്തു പാര്ക്കയായിരുന്നു.

62. Now, Isaac, had come in at the entrance, of Beer-lahai-roi, for, he, was dwelling in the land of the South:

63. വൈകുന്നേരത്തു യിസ്ഹാക് ധ്യാനിപ്പാന് വെളിന് പ്രദേശത്തു പോയിരുന്നു; അവന് തലപൊക്കി നോക്കി ഒട്ടകങ്ങള് വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

63. and Isaac came forth to meditate in the field at the approach of evening, so he lifted up his eyes and looked, and lo! camels, coming in.

64. റിബെക്കയും തലപൊക്കി യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തുനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി.

64. And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and saw Isaac, so she alighted with haste from off the camel;

65. അവള് ദാസനോടുവെളിന് പ്രദേശത്തു നമ്മെ എതിരേറ്റു വരുന്ന പുരുഷന് ആരെന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു എന്റെ യജമാനന് തന്നേ എന്നു ദാസന് പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് അവള് ഒരു മൂടുപടം എടുത്തു തന്നെ മൂടി.

65. and said unto the servant, Who is this man that is walking in the field to meet us? And the servant said, That, is my lord. So she took the veil and covered herself.

66. താന് ചെയ്ത കാര്യം ഒക്കെയും ദാസന് യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടു വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

66. And the servant recounted to Isaac, all the things which he had done.

67. യിസ്ഹാക് അവളെ തന്റെ അമ്മയായ സാറയുടെ കൂടാരത്തില് കൊണ്ടു പോയി. അവന് റിബെക്കയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവള് അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായിത്തീര്ന്നു; അവന്നു അവളില് സ്നേഹമായി. ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു തന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ മരണദുഃഖം തീര്ന്നു.

67. And Isaac brought her into the tent of Sarah his mother; thus he took Rebekah and she became his wife and he loved her, and Isaac consoled himself, for the loss of his mother.
