1. ബയെശകൂ വിരോധമായി ഹനാനിയുടെ മകന് യേഹൂവിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And the word of the Lord came to Jehu son of Hanani against Baasha, [saying],

2. ഞാന് നിന്നെ പൊടിയില്നിന്നു ഉയര്ത്തി എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പ്രഭുവാക്കിവെച്ചു; നീയോ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ വഴിയില് നടക്കയും തങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളാല് എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു പാപം ചെയ്യിക്കയും ചെയ്കയാല്

2. Forasmuch as I lifted you up from the earth, and made you ruler over My people Israel; and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have caused My people Israel to sin, to provoke Me with their vanities;

3. ഇതാ ഞാന് ബയെശയെയും അവന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെയും അശേഷം അടിച്ചുവാരിക്കളയും; നിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെപ്പോലെ ആക്കും.

3. Behold, I raise up [enemies] after Baasha, and after his house; and I will make your house as the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat.

4. ബയെശയുടെ സന്തതിയില് പട്ടണത്തില്വെച്ചു മരിക്കുന്നവനെ നായ്ക്കള് തിന്നും; വയലില്വെച്ചു മരിക്കുന്നവനെ ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികള് തിന്നും.

4. Him the dies of Baasha in the city the dogs shall devour, and him that dies in the field the birds of the sky shall devour.

5. ബയെശയുടെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്തതും അവന്റെ പരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

5. Now the rest of the history of Baasha, and all that he did, and his mighty acts, behold, are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

6. ബയെശാ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവനെ തിര്സ്സയില് അടക്കംചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകന് ഏലാ അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

6. And Baasha slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.

7. ബയെശാ യൊരോബെയാംഗൃഹത്തെപ്പോലെ ഇരുന്നു തന്റെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാല് യഹോവയെ ക്രുദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്കയും അവരെ കൊന്നുകളകയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നും അവന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നും വിരോധമായി ഹനാനിയുടെ മകനായ യേഹൂപ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

7. And the Lord spoke by Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, and against his house, [even] all the evil which he wrought before the Lord to provoke Him to anger by the works of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.

8. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ ഇരുപത്താറാം ആണ്ടില് ബയെശയുടെ മകന് ഏലാ യിസ്രായേലില് രാജാവായി തിര്സ്സയില് രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

8. And Elah son of Baasha reigned over Israel two years in Tirzah.

9. എന്നാല് രഥങ്ങളില് പകുതിക്കു അധിപതിയായ സിമ്രി എന്ന അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന് അവന്നു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി, അവന് തിര്സ്സയില് തിര്സ്സാരാജധാനിവിചാരകനായ അര്സ്സയുടെ വീട്ടില് കുടിച്ചു ലഹരിപിടിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള്

9. And Zimri, captain of half his cavalry, conspired against him, while he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza the steward at Tirzah.

10. സിമ്രി അകത്തു കടന്നു യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ ഇരുപത്തേഴാം ആണ്ടില് അവനെ വെട്ടിക്കൊന്നു അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

10. And Zimri went in and struck him and killed him, and reigned in his place.

11. അവന് രാജാവായി സിംഹാസനത്തില് ഇരുന്ന ഉടനെ ബയെശയുടെ ഗൃഹത്തെ മുഴുവനും നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവന്നാകട്ടെ അവന്റെ ചാര്ച്ചക്കാര്ക്കാകട്ടെ പുരുഷപ്രജയായ ഒന്നിനെയും അവന് ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ല.

11. And it came to pass when he reigned, when he sat upon his throne,

12. അങ്ങനെ ബയെശയും അവന്റെ മകന് ഏലയും തങ്ങളുടെ മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികളാല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചു, തങ്ങള് ചെയ്തതും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ചതുമായ സകല പാപങ്ങളും നിമിത്തം

12. that he killed all the house of Baasha, according to the word which the Lord spoke against the house of Baasha, and to Jehu the prophet,

13. യഹോവ യേഹൂപ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം ബയെശകൂ വിരോധമായി അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം സിമ്രി ബയെശയുടെ ഭവനത്തെ മുഴുവനും നിഗ്രഹിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

13. for all the sins of Baasha and Elah his son, as he led Israel astray to sin, to provoke the Lord God of Israel with their vanities.

14. ഏലയുടെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

14. And the rest of the deeds of Elah which he did, behold, are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

15. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ ഇരുപത്തേഴാം ആണ്ടില് സിമ്രി തിര്സ്സയില് ഏഴു ദിവസം രാജാവായിരുന്നു; അന്നു പടജ്ജനം ഫെലിസ്ത്യര്ക്കുംള്ള ഗിബ്ബെഥോന് നിരോധിച്ചിരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

15. And Zimri reigned in Tirzah [for] seven days. And the army of Israel [was] encamped against Gibbethon of the Philistines.

16. സിമ്രി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി രാജാവിനെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പാളയം ഇറങ്ങിയിരുന്ന പടജ്ജനം കേട്ടപ്പോള് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും അന്നു തന്നേ പാളയത്തില്വെച്ചു സേനാധിപതിയായ ഒമ്രിയെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവാക്കി വാഴിച്ചു.

16. And the people heard in the army, saying, Zimri has conspired and killed the king. And the people of Israel made Omri the captain of the army king in that day in the camp over Israel.

17. ഉടനെ ഒമ്രി എല്ലായിസ്രായേലുമായി ഗിബ്ബെഥോന് വിട്ടുചെന്നു തിര്സ്സയെ നിരോധിച്ചു.

17. And Omri went up, and all Israel with him, out of Gibbethon; and they besieged Tirzah.

18. പട്ടണം പിടിപെട്ടു എന്നു സിമ്രി കണ്ടപ്പോള് രാജധാനിയുടെ ഉള്മുറിയില് കടന്നു രാജധാനിക്കു തീവെച്ചു അതില് മരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

18. And it came to pass when Zimri saw that his city was taken, that he went into the inner chamber of the house of the king, and burnt the king's house over him, and died,

19. അവന് യെരോബെയാമിന്റെ വഴിയിലും അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപത്തിലും നടന്നു യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു പ്രവൃത്തിച്ചു, ഇങ്ങനെ താന് ചെയ്ത പാപങ്ങള്നിമിത്തം തന്നേ.

19. because of his sins which he committed, doing that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, so as to walk in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherein he caused Israel to sin.

20. സിമ്രിയുടെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടും യിസ്രായേല് രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

20. And the rest of the history of Zimri, and his conspiracies wherein he conspired, behold, are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

21. അന്നു യിസ്രായേല് ജനം രണ്ടു ഭാഗമായി പിരിഞ്ഞു; പാതി ജനം ഗീനത്തിന്റെ മകനായ തിബ്നിയെ രാജാവാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ പക്ഷം ചേര്ന്നു; പാതി ജനം ഒമ്രിയുടെ പക്ഷം ചേര്ന്നു.

21. Then the people of Israel divided; half the people went after Tibni the son of Ginath to make him king; and half the people went after Omri.

22. എന്നാല് ഒമ്രിയുടെ പക്ഷം ചേര്ന്ന ജനം ഗീനത്തിന്റെ മകനായ തിബ്നിയുടെ പക്ഷം ചേര്ന്ന ജനത്തെ തോല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ തിബ്നി പട്ടുപോകയും ഒമ്രി രാജാവാകയും ചെയ്തു.

22. The people that followed Omri overpowered the people that followed Tibni son of Ginath; and Tibni died and Joram his brother at that time, and Omri reigned after Tibni.

23. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ മുപ്പത്തൊന്നാം ആണ്ടില് ഒമ്രി യിസ്രായേലില് രാജാവായി പന്ത്രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം വാണു; തിര്സ്സയില് അവന് ആറു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

23. In the thirty-first year of King Asa, Omri began to reign over Israel [for] twelve years: he reigned six years in Tirzah.

24. പിന്നെ അവന് ശേമെരിനോടു ശമര്യാമല രണ്ടു താലന്തു വെള്ളിക്കു വാങ്ങി ആ മലമുകളില് പട്ടണം പണിതു; താന് പണിത പട്ടണത്തിന്നു മലയുടമസ്ഥനായിരുന്ന ശേമെരിന്റെ പേരിന് പ്രകാരം ശമര്യാ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

24. And Omri bought the mount of Samaria from Shemer the lord of the mountain for two talents of silver; and he built [upon] the mountain, and they called the name of the mountain [on] which he built, after the name of Shemer the lord of the mount, Samaria.

25. ഒമ്രി യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; തനിക്കു മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരെക്കാളും അധികം ദോഷം പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു.

25. And Omri did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and wrought wickedly beyond all that were before him.

26. എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല്അവന് നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ എല്ലാവഴിയിലും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ തങ്ങളുടെ മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികളാല് കോപിപ്പിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു പാപം ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപങ്ങളിലും നടന്നു.

26. And he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherewith he caused Israel to sin, to provoke the Lord God of Israel by their vanities.

27. ഒമ്രി ചെയ്ത മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്ത പരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

27. And the rest of the acts of Omri, and all that he did, and all his might, behold, [are] not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

28. ഒമ്രി തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; ശമര്യയില് അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു. അവന്റെ മകനായ ആഹാബ് അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

28. And Omri slept with his fathers, and is buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place. And in the eleventh year of Omri, Jehoshaphat the son of Asa reigned, [being] thirty-five years old in the beginning of his reign, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name [was] Gazuba, daughter of Seli. And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and turned not from it, [even] from doing right in the eyes of the Lord; only they removed not [any] of the high places; they sacrificed and burnt incense on the high places. Now the engagements which Jehoshaphat made with the king of Israel, and all his mighty deeds which he performed, and the enemies whom he fought against, behold, [are] not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And the remains of the prostitution which they practiced in the days of Asa his father, he removed out of the land. And there was no king in Syria, [but] a deputy. Then the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, I will send forth your servants and my servants in the ship; but Jehoshaphat would not. And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the City of David: and Joram his son reigned in his place.

29. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ മുപ്പത്തെട്ടാം ആണ്ടില് ഒമ്രിയുടെ മകനായ ആഹാബ് യിസ്രായേലില് രാജാവായി; ഒമ്രിയുടെ മകനായ ആഹാബ് ശമര്യയില് യിസ്രായേലിനെ ഇരുപത്തുരണ്ടു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

29. In the second year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Ahab son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

30. ഒമ്രിയുടെ മകനായ ആഹാബ് തനിക്കു മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരെക്കാളും അധികം യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

30. And Ahab did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and did more wickedly than all that were before him.

31. നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ പാപങ്ങളില് നടക്കുന്നതു പോരാ എന്നു തോന്നുമാറു അവന് സീദോന്യരാജാവായ എത്ത്-ബാലിന്റെ മകളായ ഈസേബെലിനെ ഭാര്യയായി പരിഗ്രഹിക്കയും ബാലിനെ ചെന്നു സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

31. And it was not enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, but he took Jezabel the daughter of Ethebaal king of the Sidonians for a wife; and he went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

32. താന് ശമര്യയില് പണിത ബാലിന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തില് അവന് ബാലിന്നു ഒരു ബലിപീഠം ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

32. And he set up an alter to Baal, in the house of his abominations, which he built in Samaria.

33. ആഹാബ് ഒരു അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; അങ്ങനെ ആഹാബ് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം തനിക്കു മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന എല്ലായിസ്രായേല്രാജാക്കന്മാരെക്കാളും അധികം ദോഷം പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു.

33. And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did yet more abominably, to provoke the Lord God of Israel, and [to sin against] his own life so that he should be destroyed: he did evil above all the kings of Israel that were before him.

34. അവന്റെ കാലത്തു ബേഥേല്യനായ ഹീയേല് യെരീഹോ പണിതു; യഹോവ നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവമുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ടപ്പോള് അവന്നു അബീറാം എന്ന മൂത്തമകനും അതിന്റെ പടിവാതില് വെച്ചപ്പോള് ശെഗൂബു എന്ന ഇളയമകനും നഷ്ടംവന്നു.

34. And in his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho: he laid the foundation of it with Abiram his firstborn, and he set up the doors of it with Segub his younger son, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
