1. അതിന്റെശേഷം ദാവീദ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ തോല്പിച്ചു അടക്കി, ഗത്തും അതിനോടു ചേര്ന്ന ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കയ്യില് നിന്നു പിടിച്ചു.

1. Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

2. പിന്നെ അവന് മോവാബിനെ തോല്പിച്ചു; മോവാബ്യര് ദാവീദിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായി കാഴ്ചകൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

2. And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became Davids servants, and brought gifts.

3. സോബാരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെര് ഫ്രാത്ത് നദീതീരത്തിങ്കല് തന്റെ ആധിപത്യം ഉറപ്പിപ്പാന് പോയപ്പോള് ദാവീദ് അവനെയും ഹമാത്തില്വെച്ചു തോല്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

3. And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates.

4. അവന്റെ വക ആയിരം രഥങ്ങളെയും ഏഴായിരം കുതിരപ്പടയാളികളെയും ഇരുപതിനായിരം കാലാളുകളെയും ദാവീദ് പിടിച്ചു; ദാവീദ് അവയില് നൂറു രഥകൂതിരകളെ വെച്ചുകൊണ്ടുശേഷം രഥകൂതിരകളെ ഒക്കെയും കുതിഞരമ്പു വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

4. And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David also houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them an hundred chariots.

5. സോബാരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെരിനെ സഹായിപ്പാന് ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ അരാമ്യര് വന്നപ്പോള് ദാവീദ് അരാമ്യരില് ഇരുപതിനായിരം പേരെ നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

5. And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

6. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ദമ്മേശെക്കിനോടു ചേര്ന്ന അരാമില് കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ പാര്പ്പിച്ചു; അരാമ്യരും ദാവീദിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായി കാഴ്ചകൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് ചെന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവ അവന്നു ജയം നല്കി.

6. Then David put garrisons in Syria-damascus; and the Syrians became Davids servants, and brought gifts. Thus YHWH preserved David whithersoever he went.

7. ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ ദാസന്മാര്ക്കുംണ്ടായിരുന്ന പൊന് പരിചകളെ ദാവീദ് എടുത്തു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

7. And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8. ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളായ തിബ്ഹാത്തില്നിന്നും കൂനില്നിന്നും അനവധി താമ്രവും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ശലോമോന് താമ്രക്കടലും സ്തംഭങ്ങളും താമ്രപാത്രങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

8. Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

9. എന്നാല് ദാവീദ് സോബാരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ സൈന്യത്തെയെല്ലാം തോല്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഹമാത്ത്രാജാവായ തോവൂ കേട്ടപ്പോള്

9. Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;

10. അവന് ദാവീദ്രാജാവിനോടു കുശലും ചോദിപ്പാനും അവന് ഹദദേസെരിനോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ അഭിനന്ദിപ്പാനും തന്റെ മകനായ ഹദോരാമിനെ അയച്ചു; ഹദദേസരും തോവൂവും തമ്മില് കൂടക്കൂടെ യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന് പൊന്നു, വെള്ളി താമ്രം ഇവകൊണ്ടുള്ള സകലവിധസാധനങ്ങളെയും കൊണ്ടു വന്നു.

10. He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to inquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;)and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.

11. ദാവീദ്രാജാവു അവയെ താന് ഏദോം, മോവാബ്, അമ്മോന്യര്, ഫെലിസ്ത്യര്, അമാലേക് മുതലായ സകലജാതികളുടെ പക്കല്നിന്നും പിടിച്ചെടുത്ത വെള്ളിയോടും പൊന്നിനോടുംകൂടെ യഹോവേക്കു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു.

11. Them also king David dedicated unto YHWH, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

12. സെരൂയയുടെ മകനായ അബീശായി ഉപ്പുതാഴ്വരയില്വെച്ചു എദോമ്യരില് പതിനെണ്ണായിരംപേരെ സംഹരിച്ചു.

12. Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.

13. ദാവീദ് എദോമില് കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ ആക്കി; എദോമ്യര് എല്ലാവരും അവന്നു ദാസന്മാര് ആയ്തീര്ന്നു. അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് ചെന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവ അവന്നു ജയം നല്കി.

13. And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became Davids servants. Thus YHWH preserved David whithersoever he went.

14. ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവായി വാണു; തന്റെ സകലജനത്തിന്നും നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തിവന്നു.

14. So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people.

15. സെരൂയയുടെ മകനായ യോവാബ് സേനാധിപതി ആയിരുന്നു; അഹീലൂദിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് മന്ത്രിയും

15. And Joab the son Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder.

16. അഹീത്തൂബിന്റെ മകനായ സാദോക്കും അബ്യാഥാരിന്റെ മകനായ അഹീമേലെക്കും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശവ്ശാ രായസക്കാരനും

16. And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;

17. യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകനായ ബെനായാവു ക്രേത്യര്ക്കും പ്ളേത്യര്ക്കും അധിപതിയും ആയിരുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് പ്രധാനപരിചാരകന്മാരായിരുന്നു.

17. And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethiten of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
