1. യോഥാം വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു ഇരുപത്തഞ്ചു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവന് പതിനാറു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു യെരൂശാ എന്നു പേര്; അവള് സാദോക്കിന്റെ മകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

1. Yotam was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Yerushalayim: and his mother's name was Yerusha the daughter of Tzadok.

3. അവന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ മേലത്തെ പടിവാതില് പണിതു; ഔഫേലിന്റെ മതിലും അവന് വളരെ പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

3. He built the upper gate of the house of the LORD, and on the wall of `Ofel he built much.

4. അവന് യെഹൂദാമലനാട്ടില് പട്ടണങ്ങളും വനങ്ങളില് കോട്ടകളും ഗോപുരങ്ങളും പണിതു.

4. Moreover he built cities in the hill-country of Yehudah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.

5. അവന് അമ്മോന്യരുടെ രാജാവിനോടു യുദ്ധവും ചെയ്തു അവരെ ജയിച്ചു; അമ്മോന്യര് അവന്നു ആ ആണ്ടില് തന്നേ നൂറു താലന്ത് വെള്ളിയും പതിനായിരം കോര് കോതമ്പും പതിനായിരം കോര് യവവും കൊടുത്തു; അത്രയും തന്നേ അമ്മോന്യര് രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിലും മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിലും കൊടുക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു.

5. He fought also with the king of the children of `Ammon, and prevailed against them. The children of `Ammon gave him the same year one hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of `Ammon render to him, in the second year also, and in the third.

6. ഇങ്ങനെ യോഥാം തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ക്രമമായി നടന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് ബലവാനായിത്തീര്ന്നു.

6. So Yotam became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.

7. യോഥാമിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന്റെ സകലയുദ്ധങ്ങളും അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളും യിസ്രായേലിലെയും യെഹൂദയിലെയും രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ പുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

7. Now the rest of the acts of Yotam, and all his wars, and his ways, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Yisra'el and Yehudah.

8. വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു ഇരുപത്തഞ്ചു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവന് പതിനാറു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു.

8. He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Yerushalayim.

9. യോഥാം തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവനെ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ ആഹാസ് അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

9. Yotam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Achaz his son reigned in his place.
