1. യെഹിസ്കീയാവു ഇരുപത്തഞ്ചാം വയസ്സില് വാഴ്ച തുടങ്ങി; ഇരുപത്തൊമ്പതു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു അബീയാ എന്നു പേര്. അവള് സെഖയ്യാവിന്റെ മകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

1. Hezekiah became king when he was twenty-five years old and was king in Jerusalem for twenty-nine years. His mother was Abijah daughter of Zechariah.

2. അവന് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദ് ചെയ്തതു പോലെ ഒക്കെയും യഹോവേക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

2. In GOD's opinion he was a good king; he kept to the standards of his ancestor David.

3. In the first month of the first year of his reign, Hezekiah, having first repaired the doors of The Temple of GOD, threw them open to the public.

4. അവന് പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും വരുത്തി കിഴക്കെ വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തു ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

4. He assembled the priests and Levites in the court on the east side

5. and said, 'Levites, listen! Consecrate yourselves and consecrate The Temple of GOD--give this much-defiled place a good housecleaning.

6. Our ancestors went wrong and lived badly before GOD--they discarded him, turned away from this house where we meet with GOD, and walked off.

7. അവര് മണ്ഡപത്തിന്റെ വാതിലുകള് അടെച്ചു, വിളകൂ കെടുത്തി, വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ധൂപം കാണിക്കാതെയും ഹോമയാഗം കഴിക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നു.

7. They boarded up the doors, turned out the lights, and canceled all the acts of worship of the GOD of Israel in the holy Temple.

8. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ കോപം യെഹൂദയുടെയും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെയും മേല് വന്നു; നിങ്ങള് സ്വന്തകണ്ണാല് കാണുന്നതുപോലെ അവന് അവരെ നടുക്കത്തിന്നും അമ്പരപ്പിന്നും ഹാസ്യത്തിന്നും വിഷയമാക്കിത്തീര്ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. And because of that, GOD's anger flared up and he turned those people into a public exhibit of disaster, a moral history lesson--look and read!

9. നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് വാളിനാല് വീഴുകയും, നമ്മുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും നമ്മുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും ഇതുനിമിത്തം പ്രവാസത്തില് ആകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. This is why our ancestors were killed, and this is why our wives and sons and daughters were taken prisoner and made slaves.

10. ഇപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപം നമ്മെ വിട്ടുമാറേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്വാന് എനിക്കു താല്പര്യം ഉണ്ടു.

10. 'I have decided to make a covenant with the GOD of Israel and turn history around so that GOD will no longer be angry with us.

11. എന്റെ മക്കളേ, ഇപ്പോള് ഉപേക്ഷ കാണിക്കരുതു; തന്നെ ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് നില്പാനും തനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരായി ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാനും യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

11. Children, don't drag your feet in this! GOD has chosen you to take your place before him to serve in conducting and leading worship--this is your life work; make sure you do it and do it well.'

12. അപ്പോള് കെഹാത്യരില് അമാസായിയുടെ മകന് മഹത്ത്, അസര്യ്യാവിന്റെ മകന് യോവേല്, മെരാര്യ്യരില് അബ്ദിയുടെ മകന് കീശ്, യെഹല്ലെലേലിന്റെ മകന് അസര്യ്യാവു; ഗേര്ശോന്യരില് സിമ്മയുടെ മകന് യോവാഹ്,

12. The Levites stood at attention: Mahath son of Amasai and Joel son of Azariah from the Kohathites; Kish son of Abdi and Azariah son of Jehallelel from the Merarites; Joah son of Zimmah and Eden son of Joah from the Gershonites;

13. യോവാഹിന്റെ മകന് ഏദെന് ; എലീസാ ഫാന്യരില് സിമ്രി, യെയൂവേല്; ആസാഫ്യരില് സെഖര്യ്യാവു, മത്ഥന്യാവു;

13. Shimri and Jeiel sons of Elizaphan; Zechariah and Mattaniah sons of Asaph;

14. ഹേമാന്യരില് യെഹൂവേല്, ശിമെയി; യെദൂഥൂന്യരില് ശിമയ്യാവു, ഉസ്സീയേല് എന്നീ ലേവ്യര് എഴുന്നേറ്റു.

14. Jehiel and Shimei of the family of Heman; Shemaiah and Uzziel of the family of Jeduthun.

15. തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂട്ടി തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പന അനുസരിച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തെ വെടിപ്പാക്കുവാന് വന്നു.

15. They presented themselves and their brothers, consecrated themselves, and set to work cleaning up The Temple of GOD as the king had directed--as GOD directed!

16. പുരോഹിതന്മാര് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ അകം വെടിപ്പാക്കുവാന് അതില് കടന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് കണ്ട മലിനതയൊക്കെയും പുറത്തു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരത്തില് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ലേവ്യര് അതു കൊണ്ടു പോയി കിദ്രോന് തോട്ടില് ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

16. The priests started from the inside and worked out; they emptied the place of the accumulation of defiling junk--pagan rubbish that had no business in that holy place--and the Levites hauled it off to the Kidron Valley.

17. ഒന്നാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി അവര് വിശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പാന് തുടങ്ങി; എട്ടാം തിയ്യതി അവര് യഹോവയുടെ മണ്ഡപത്തിങ്കല് എത്തി; ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് എട്ടുദിവസംകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു; ഒന്നാം മാസം പതിനാറാം തിയ്യതി തീര്ത്തു,

17. They began the Temple cleaning on the first day of the first month and by the eighth day they had worked their way out to the porch--eight days it took them to clean and consecrate The Temple itself, and in eight more days they had finished with the entire Temple complex.

18. യെഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അകത്തു ചെന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം മുഴുവനും ഹോമപീഠവും അതിന്റെ ഉപകരണങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും കാഴ്ചയപ്പത്തിന്റെ മേശയും അതിന്റെ ഉപകരണങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും വെടിപ്പാക്കി,

18. Then they reported to Hezekiah the king, 'We have cleaned up the entire Temple of GOD, including the Altar of Whole-Burnt-Offering and the Table of the Bread of the Presence with their furnishings.

19. ആഹാസ്രാജാവു തന്റെ വാഴ്ചകാലത്തു തന്റെ ദ്രോഹത്താല് നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞ ഉപകരണങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും നന്നാക്കി വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന് മുമ്പില് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. We have also cleaned up and consecrated all the vessels which King Ahaz had gotten rid of during his misrule. Take a look; we have repaired them. They're all there in front of the Altar of GOD.'

20. യെഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവു കാലത്തെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു നഗരാധിപതികളെ കൂട്ടി യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നു.

20. Then Hezekiah the king went to work: He got all the leaders of the city together and marched to The Temple of GOD.

21. അവര് രാജത്വത്തിന്നും വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിന്നും യെഹൂദെക്കും വേണ്ടി ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ഏഴു കുഞ്ഞാടിനെയും പാപയാഗത്തിന്നായിട്ടു ഏഴു വെള്ളാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവയെ യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് യാഗംകഴിപ്പാന് അവന് അഹരോന്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

21. They brought with them seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven he-goats to sacrifice as an Absolution-Offering for the royal family, for the Sanctuary, and for Judah as a whole; he directed the Aaronite priests to sacrifice them on the Altar of GOD.

22. അങ്ങനെ അവര് കാളകളെ അറുത്തു; പുരോഹിതന്മാര് രക്തം വാങ്ങി യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് തളിച്ചു; ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെ അറുത്തു രക്തം യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് തളിച്ചു. കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെ അറുത്തു രക്തം യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് തളിച്ചു.

22. The priests butchered the bulls and then took the blood and sprinkled it on the Altar, and then the same with the rams and lambs.

23. പിന്നെ അവര് പാപയാഗത്തിന്നുള്ള വെള്ളാട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെ രാജാവിന്റെയും സഭയുടെയും മുമ്പില് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവര് അവയുടെമേല് കൈവെച്ചു.

23. Finally they brought the goats up; the king and congregation laid their hands upon them.

24. പുരോഹിതന്മാര് അവയെ അറുത്തു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു അവയുടെ രക്തം യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് പാപയാഗമായി അര്പ്പിച്ചു; എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും വേണ്ടി ഹോമയാഗവും പാപയാഗവും കഴിക്കേണം എന്നു രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

24. The priests butchered them and made an Absolution-Offering with their blood at the Altar to atone for the sin of all Israel--the king had ordered that the Whole-Burnt-Offering and the Absolution-Offering be for all Israel.

25. അവന് ദാവീദിന്റെയും രാജാവിന്റെ ദര്ശകനായ ഗാദിന്റെയും നാഥാന് പ്രവാചകന്റെയും കല്പനപ്രകാരം ലേവ്യരെ കൈത്താളങ്ങളോടും വീണകളോടും കിന്നരങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് നിര്ത്തി; അങ്ങനെ പ്രവാചകന്മാര്മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

25. The king ordered the Levites to take their places in The Temple of GOD with their musical instruments--cymbals, harps, zithers--following the original instructions of David, Gad the king's seer, and Nathan the prophet; this was GOD's command conveyed by his prophets.

26. ലേവ്യര് ദാവീദിന്റെ വാദ്യങ്ങളോടും പുരോഹിതന്മാര് കാഹളങ്ങളോടുംകൂടെ നിന്നു.

26. The Levites formed the orchestra of David, while the priests took up the trumpets.

27. പിന്നെ യെഹിസ്കീയാവു യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഹോമയാഗം കഴിപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു. ഹോമയാഗം തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് തന്നേ അവര് കാഹളങ്ങളോടും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ വാദ്യങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ യഹോവേക്കു പാട്ടുപാടുവാന് തുടങ്ങി.

27. Then Hezekiah gave the signal to begin: The Whole-Burnt-Offering was offered on the Altar; at the same time the sacred choir began singing, backed up by the trumpets and the David orchestra

28. ഉടനെ സര്വ്വസഭയും നമസ്കരിച്ചു, സംഗീതക്കാര് പാടുകയും കാഹളക്കാര് ഊതുകയും ചെയ്തു; ഇതൊക്കെയും ഹോമയാഗം കഴിയുന്നതുവരെ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

28. while the entire congregation worshiped. The singers sang and the trumpeters played all during the sacrifice of the Whole-Burnt-Offering.

29. യാഗം കഴിച്ചു തീര്ന്നപ്പോള് രാജാവും കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരും വണങ്ങി നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

29. When the offering of the sacrifice was completed, the king and everyone there knelt to the ground and worshiped.

30. പിന്നെ യെഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ലേവ്യരോടു ദാവീദിന്റെയും ആസാഫ് ദര്ശകന്റെയും വചനങ്ങളാല് യഹോവേക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്വാന് കല്പിച്ചു. അവന് സന്തോഷത്തോടെ സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്തു തല കുനിച്ചു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

30. Then Hezekiah the king and the leaders told the Levites to finish things off with anthems of praise to GOD using lyrics by David and Asaph the seer. They sang their praises with joy and reverence, kneeling in worship.

31. നിങ്ങള് ഇപ്പോള് യഹോവേക്കു നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ നിവേദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അടുത്തുവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളും സ്തോത്രയാഗങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് എന്നു യെഹിസ്കീയാവു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ സഭ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളും സ്തോത്രയാഗങ്ങളും നല്ല മനസ്സുള്ളവര് എല്ലാവരും ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

31. Hezekiah then made this response: 'The dedication is complete--you're consecrated to GOD. Now you're ready: Come forward and bring your sacrifices and Thank-Offerings to The Temple of GOD.' And come they did. Everyone in the congregation brought sacrifices and Thank-Offerings and some, overflowing with generosity, even brought Whole-Burnt-Offerings,

32. സഭ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണം കാള എഴുപതു, ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന് നൂറു, കുഞ്ഞാടു ഇരുനൂറു; ഇവയൊക്കെയും യഹോവേക്കു മഹായാഗത്തിന്നായിരുന്നു.

32. a generosity expressed in seventy bulls, a hundred rams, and two hundred lambs--all for Whole-Burnt-Offerings for GOD!

33. നിവേദിതവസ്തുക്കളോ അറുനൂറു കാളയും മൂവായിരം ആടും ആയിരുന്നു.

33. The total number of animals consecrated for sacrifice that day amounted to 600 bulls and 3,000 sheep.

34. പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ചുരുക്കമായിരുന്നതിനാല് ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെല്ലം തോലുരിപ്പാന് അവര്ക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ ലേവ്യര് ആ വേല തീരുവോളവും പുരോഹിതന്മാരൊക്കെയും തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുവോളവും അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു; തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നതില് ലേവ്യര് പുരോഹിതന്മാരെക്കാള് അധികം ഉത്സാഹമുള്ളവരായിരുന്നു.

34. They ran out of priests qualified to slaughter all the Whole-Burnt-Offerings so their brother Levites stepped in and helped out while other priests consecrated themselves for the work. It turned out that the Levites had been more responsible in making sure they were properly consecrated than the priests had been.

35. ഹോമയാഗങ്ങള് സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള മേദസ്സിനോടും ഹോമയാഗങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള പാനീയയാഗങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ അനവധി ആയിരുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ആരാധന യഥാസ്ഥാനത്തായി.

35. Besides the overflow of Whole-Burnt-Offerings there were also choice pieces for the Peace-Offerings and lavish libations that went with the Whole-Burnt-Offerings. The worship in The Temple of GOD was on a firm footing again!

36. ദൈവം ജനത്തിന്നു ഒരുക്കിക്കൊടുത്തതില് യെഹിസ്കീയാവും സകലജനവും സന്തോഷിച്ചു; കാര്യം ക്ഷണത്തിലല്ലോ നടന്നതു.

36. Hezekiah and the congregation celebrated: God had established a firm foundation for the lives of the people--and so quickly!
