1. യെഹിസ്കീയാവു ഇരുപത്തഞ്ചാം വയസ്സില് വാഴ്ച തുടങ്ങി; ഇരുപത്തൊമ്പതു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു അബീയാ എന്നു പേര്. അവള് സെഖയ്യാവിന്റെ മകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

1. Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty five year old, and reigned twenty nine year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Abiah the daughter of Zachariah.

2. അവന് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദ് ചെയ്തതു പോലെ ഒക്കെയും യഹോവേക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

2. And he did that was right in the sight of the LORD in all points as did David his father.

3. അവന് തന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ ഒന്നാം ആണ്ടില് ഒന്നാം മാസത്തില് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ വാതിലുകള് തുറന്നു അറ്റകുറ്റം തീര്ത്തു.

3. He opened the doors of the house of the LORD in the first year and first month of his reign, and he repaired them.

4. അവന് പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും വരുത്തി കിഴക്കെ വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തു ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

4. And he brought in the priests and the Levites and gathered them together into the east street:

5. ലേവ്യരേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്പ്പിന് , ഇപ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തെയും ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില്നിന്നു മലിനത നീക്കിക്കളവിന് .

5. and said unto them. Hear me ye Levites: purify yourselves and hallow the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and bring out the filthiness out of the holy place.

6. നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് അകൃത്യം ചെയ്തു, നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചു അവനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും യഹോവയുടെ നിവാസത്തിങ്കല്നിന്നു മുഖം തിരിച്ചു അതിന്നു പുറം കാട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

6. For our fathers have trespassed and done evil favouredly in the eyes of the LORD our God: and have forsaken him, and turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD and turned to their backs.

7. അവര് മണ്ഡപത്തിന്റെ വാതിലുകള് അടെച്ചു, വിളകൂ കെടുത്തി, വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ധൂപം കാണിക്കാതെയും ഹോമയാഗം കഴിക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നു.

7. And beside that they have shut up the doors of the porch and quenched the lamps and have neither burned cense nor offered burntofferings in the holy place unto the God of Israel.

8. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ കോപം യെഹൂദയുടെയും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെയും മേല് വന്നു; നിങ്ങള് സ്വന്തകണ്ണാല് കാണുന്നതുപോലെ അവന് അവരെ നടുക്കത്തിന്നും അമ്പരപ്പിന്നും ഹാസ്യത്തിന്നും വിഷയമാക്കിത്തീര്ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. Wherefore the wrath of the LORD fell on Juda and Jerusalem: and he scattered them and made them so thin that men hiss at it, even as ye see with your eyes.

9. നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് വാളിനാല് വീഴുകയും, നമ്മുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും നമ്മുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും ഇതുനിമിത്തം പ്രവാസത്തില് ആകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. For see, our fathers were overthrown with the sword and our sons, our daughters and our wives were carried away captive for the same cause.

10. ഇപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപം നമ്മെ വിട്ടുമാറേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്വാന് എനിക്കു താല്പര്യം ഉണ്ടു.

10. Now have I in my heart to stike a covenant with the LORD God of Israel: that his wrath may cease.

11. എന്റെ മക്കളേ, ഇപ്പോള് ഉപേക്ഷ കാണിക്കരുതു; തന്നെ ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് നില്പാനും തനിക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരായി ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാനും യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

11. Now therefore my sons be not negligent: for the LORD had chosen you to stand before him, and for to minister and burn offerings to him.

12. അപ്പോള് കെഹാത്യരില് അമാസായിയുടെ മകന് മഹത്ത്, അസര്യ്യാവിന്റെ മകന് യോവേല്, മെരാര്യ്യരില് അബ്ദിയുടെ മകന് കീശ്, യെഹല്ലെലേലിന്റെ മകന് അസര്യ്യാവു; ഗേര്ശോന്യരില് സിമ്മയുടെ മകന് യോവാഹ്,

12. Then the Levites arose: Nahath the son of Amasai and Joel the son of Asariah being of the children of the Cahathites: and the sons of Merari, Kis the son of Abdi and Asariah the son of Jehaleleel: and of the Gersonites, Joah the son of Simma and Eden the son of Joah:

13. യോവാഹിന്റെ മകന് ഏദെന് ; എലീസാ ഫാന്യരില് സിമ്രി, യെയൂവേല്; ആസാഫ്യരില് സെഖര്യ്യാവു, മത്ഥന്യാവു;

13. and of the sons of Elizaphan, Simri and Jeiel: and of the sons of Asaph, Zachariah and Mathaniah:

14. ഹേമാന്യരില് യെഹൂവേല്, ശിമെയി; യെദൂഥൂന്യരില് ശിമയ്യാവു, ഉസ്സീയേല് എന്നീ ലേവ്യര് എഴുന്നേറ്റു.

14. and of the sons of Heman, Jehiel and Semei; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Semaiah and Oziel.

15. തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂട്ടി തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പന അനുസരിച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തെ വെടിപ്പാക്കുവാന് വന്നു.

15. And they gathered their brethren and purified themselves, and then went at the commandment of the king by the word of the LORD, for to cleanse the house of the LORD.

16. പുരോഹിതന്മാര് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ അകം വെടിപ്പാക്കുവാന് അതില് കടന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് കണ്ട മലിനതയൊക്കെയും പുറത്തു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരത്തില് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ലേവ്യര് അതു കൊണ്ടു പോയി കിദ്രോന് തോട്ടില് ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

16. And the priests went into the house of the LORD to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD, and in the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took it and carried it out into the brook Cedron.

17. ഒന്നാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി അവര് വിശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പാന് തുടങ്ങി; എട്ടാം തിയ്യതി അവര് യഹോവയുടെ മണ്ഡപത്തിങ്കല് എത്തി; ഇങ്ങനെ അവര് എട്ടുദിവസംകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു; ഒന്നാം മാസം പതിനാറാം തിയ്യതി തീര്ത്തു,

17. They began the first day of the first month to purify, and came the eighth day to the porch of the LORD: so that they had purged the house of the LORD in eight days in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.

18. യെഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അകത്തു ചെന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം മുഴുവനും ഹോമപീഠവും അതിന്റെ ഉപകരണങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും കാഴ്ചയപ്പത്തിന്റെ മേശയും അതിന്റെ ഉപകരണങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും വെടിപ്പാക്കി,

18. And then they went into Hezekiah the king and said: we have cleansed all the house of the LORD, and the altar of burntofferings with all his vessels, and the shewbread table with all his apparel:

19. ആഹാസ്രാജാവു തന്റെ വാഴ്ചകാലത്തു തന്റെ ദ്രോഹത്താല് നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞ ഉപകരണങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും നന്നാക്കി വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന് മുമ്പില് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. and thereto all the vessels which king Ahaz did cast aside when he reigned and transgressed, them we have repaired and sanctified: and see, they are before the altar of the LORD.

20. യെഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവു കാലത്തെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു നഗരാധിപതികളെ കൂട്ടി യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നു.

20. And Hezekiah the king rose early and gathered the lords of the city and went up to the house of the LORD.

21. അവര് രാജത്വത്തിന്നും വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിന്നും യെഹൂദെക്കും വേണ്ടി ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ഏഴു കുഞ്ഞാടിനെയും പാപയാഗത്തിന്നായിട്ടു ഏഴു വെള്ളാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവയെ യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് യാഗംകഴിപ്പാന് അവന് അഹരോന്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

21. And there were brought seven oxen, seven rams, seven lambs and seven kids to be a sinoffering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary and for Juda. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of the LORD.

22. അങ്ങനെ അവര് കാളകളെ അറുത്തു; പുരോഹിതന്മാര് രക്തം വാങ്ങി യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് തളിച്ചു; ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെ അറുത്തു രക്തം യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് തളിച്ചു. കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെ അറുത്തു രക്തം യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് തളിച്ചു.

22. And they slew the oxen: and the priests received the blood and sprinkled it on the altar: and they slew the rams and sprinkled the blood upon the altar: and they slew the lambs and sprinkled the blood upon the altar.

23. പിന്നെ അവര് പാപയാഗത്തിന്നുള്ള വെള്ളാട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെ രാജാവിന്റെയും സഭയുടെയും മുമ്പില് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവര് അവയുടെമേല് കൈവെച്ചു.

23. And then they brought forth the kids of the sin offering before the king and the congregation which put their hands upon them.

24. പുരോഹിതന്മാര് അവയെ അറുത്തു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു അവയുടെ രക്തം യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് പാപയാഗമായി അര്പ്പിച്ചു; എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും വേണ്ടി ഹോമയാഗവും പാപയാഗവും കഴിക്കേണം എന്നു രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

24. And the priests slew them and offered the blood of them upon the altar, to make satisfaction for all Israel: for the king said: that the burntoffering and the sinoffering should serve for all Israel.

25. അവന് ദാവീദിന്റെയും രാജാവിന്റെ ദര്ശകനായ ഗാദിന്റെയും നാഥാന് പ്രവാചകന്റെയും കല്പനപ്രകാരം ലേവ്യരെ കൈത്താളങ്ങളോടും വീണകളോടും കിന്നരങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് നിര്ത്തി; അങ്ങനെ പ്രവാചകന്മാര്മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

25. And they set the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, psalteries and harps according to the commandments of David and of Gad the king's sear of visions and of Nathan the prophet. For so was the commandment of the LORD thorow the hand of his prophets.

26. ലേവ്യര് ദാവീദിന്റെ വാദ്യങ്ങളോടും പുരോഹിതന്മാര് കാഹളങ്ങളോടുംകൂടെ നിന്നു.

26. And so the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with trumpets.

27. പിന്നെ യെഹിസ്കീയാവു യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഹോമയാഗം കഴിപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു. ഹോമയാഗം തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് തന്നേ അവര് കാഹളങ്ങളോടും യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ വാദ്യങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ യഹോവേക്കു പാട്ടുപാടുവാന് തുടങ്ങി.

27. And Hezekaih commanded to offer the burntoffering upon the altar. And when the burntoffering began, the song of the LORD began, and the trumpets with the instruments of David king of Israel.

28. ഉടനെ സര്വ്വസഭയും നമസ്കരിച്ചു, സംഗീതക്കാര് പാടുകയും കാഹളക്കാര് ഊതുകയും ചെയ്തു; ഇതൊക്കെയും ഹോമയാഗം കഴിയുന്നതുവരെ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

28. And all the congregation bowed themselves, and the singers sang, and the trumpets blew, and continued until the burntoffering was finished.

29. യാഗം കഴിച്ചു തീര്ന്നപ്പോള് രാജാവും കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന എല്ലാവരും വണങ്ങി നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

29. And when they had made an end of the burntoffering, the king and all that were with him kneeled down and bowed themselves and gave praise and thanks.

30. പിന്നെ യെഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ലേവ്യരോടു ദാവീദിന്റെയും ആസാഫ് ദര്ശകന്റെയും വചനങ്ങളാല് യഹോവേക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്വാന് കല്പിച്ചു. അവന് സന്തോഷത്തോടെ സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്തു തല കുനിച്ചു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

30. And Hezekiah the king and the lords bade the Levites to praise the LORD with the words of David and of Asaph the sear of visions. And the Levites praised that they rejoiced again, and the other stooped and bowed themselves.

31. നിങ്ങള് ഇപ്പോള് യഹോവേക്കു നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ നിവേദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അടുത്തുവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളും സ്തോത്രയാഗങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് എന്നു യെഹിസ്കീയാവു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ സഭ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളും സ്തോത്രയാഗങ്ങളും നല്ല മനസ്സുള്ളവര് എല്ലാവരും ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

31. And Hezekiah answered and said: now that ye have filled your hands to the LORD, go to and bring in the sacrifices and thankofferings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in the sacrifices and thankofferings, and all that were willing brought burntofferings.

32. സഭ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണം കാള എഴുപതു, ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന് നൂറു, കുഞ്ഞാടു ഇരുനൂറു; ഇവയൊക്കെയും യഹോവേക്കു മഹായാഗത്തിന്നായിരുന്നു.

32. And the number of the burntofferings which the congregation brought in was seventy oxen and an hundredth rams and two hundredth lambs: and all for burntofferings to the LORD.

33. നിവേദിതവസ്തുക്കളോ അറുനൂറു കാളയും മൂവായിരം ആടും ആയിരുന്നു.

33. And beside that they dedicated six hundredth oxen and three thousand sheep.

34. പുരോഹിതന്മാര് ചുരുക്കമായിരുന്നതിനാല് ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെല്ലം തോലുരിപ്പാന് അവര്ക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ ലേവ്യര് ആ വേല തീരുവോളവും പുരോഹിതന്മാരൊക്കെയും തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുവോളവും അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു; തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നതില് ലേവ്യര് പുരോഹിതന്മാരെക്കാള് അധികം ഉത്സാഹമുള്ളവരായിരുന്നു.

34. But the priests were too few, and were not able to slay all the burntofferings. Wherefore their brethren the Levites holp them till the work was ended, and until the priests were sanctified. For the Levites were purer hearted to sanctify themselves then the priests.

35. ഹോമയാഗങ്ങള് സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള മേദസ്സിനോടും ഹോമയാഗങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള പാനീയയാഗങ്ങളോടും കൂടെ അനവധി ആയിരുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ആരാധന യഥാസ്ഥാനത്തായി.

35. And thereto the burntofferings were many with the fat of the peaceofferings and the drinkofferings that belonged to the burntofferings. And so the service pertaining to the house of the LORD went forward.

36. ദൈവം ജനത്തിന്നു ഒരുക്കിക്കൊടുത്തതില് യെഹിസ്കീയാവും സകലജനവും സന്തോഷിച്ചു; കാര്യം ക്ഷണത്തിലല്ലോ നടന്നതു.

36. And Hezekiah rejoiced and all the people, that God had made the folk so ready: for the thing was suddenly done.
