1. ദാര്യ്യവേശ്രാജാവു കല്പന കൊടുത്ത പ്രകാരം അവര് ബാബേലില് ഭണ്ഡാരം സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന രേഖാശാലയില് പരിശോധന കഴിച്ചു.

1. Then Darius the king made a decree, and a search was made in the house of the archives, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.

2. അവര് മേദ്യസംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ അഹ്മെഥാരാജാധാനിയില് ഒരു ചുരുള് കണ്ടെത്തി; അതില് ജ്ഞാപകമായിട്ടു എഴുതിയിരുന്നതെന്തെന്നാല്

2. And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of Media, a roll, and in it was thus written for a record:

3. കോരെശ്രാജാവിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ആണ്ടില് കോരെശ്രാജാവു കല്പന കൊടുത്തതുയെരൂശലേമിലെ ദൈവാലയം യാഗം കഴിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലമായി പണിയേണംഅതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങള് ഉറപ്പായിട്ടു ഇടേണം; അതിന്നു അറുപതു മുഴം ഉയരവും അറുപതു മുഴം വീതയും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണം.

3. In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king made a decree: Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the house be built, the place where they offer sacrifices, and let its foundations be strongly laid; its height threescore cubits, and its width threescore cubits;

4. വലിയ കല്ലുകൊണ്ടു മൂന്നുവരിയും പുതിയ ഉത്തരങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടു ഒരു വരിയും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണം; ചെലവു രാജാവിന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരഗൃഹത്തില്നിന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം.

4. with three courses of great stones, and a course of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house.

5. അതു കൂടാതെ നെബൂഖദ് നേസര് യെരൂശലേമിലെ ദൈവാലയത്തില്നിന്നു എടുത്തു ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ദൈവാലയംവക പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഉപകരണങ്ങള് മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയും അവ യെരൂശലേമിലെ മന്ദിരത്തില് അതതിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തു വരുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം ദൈവാലയത്തില് വെക്കുകയും വേണം.

5. And also let the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought to Babylon, be restored, and brought again to the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to its place; and you will put them in the house of God.

6. ആകയാല് നദിക്കു അക്കരെ ദേശാധിപതിയായ തത്നായിയേ, ശെഥര്-ബോസ്നയേ, നിങ്ങളും നദിക്കു അക്കരെയുള്ള അഫര്സ്യരായ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടക്കാരും അവിടെനിന്നു അകന്നു നില്ക്കേണം.

6. Now therefore, Tattenai, governor beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and your+ fellow slaves the Apharsachites, who are beyond the River, be+ far from there:

7. ഈ ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ പണിക്കാര്യത്തില് നിങ്ങള് ഇടപെടരുതു; യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ദേശാധിപതിയും യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരും ഈ ദൈവാലയം അതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തു തന്നേ പണിയട്ടെ.

7. leave the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place.

8. ഈ ദൈവാലയം പണിയേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാര്ക്കും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാന് കല്പിക്കുന്നതെന്തെന്നാല്നദിക്കു അക്കരെ പിരിയുന്ന കരമായ രാജാവിന്റെ മുതലില്നിന്നു ആ ആളുകള്ക്കു കാലതാമസം കൂടാതെ കൃത്യമായി ചെലവും കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

8. Moreover I make a decree what you+ will do to these elders of the Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the River, expenses will be given with all diligence to these [work]men, that they are not hindered.

9. അവര് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു സൌരഭ്യവാസനയുള്ള യാഗം അര്പ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും രാജാവിന്റെയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെയും ക്ഷേമത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും

9. And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for burnt-offerings to the God of heaven; [also] wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the word of the priests who are at Jerusalem, let it be given to them day by day without fail;

10. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഹോമയാഗം കഴിപ്പാന് അവര്ക്കും ആവശ്യമുള്ള കാളക്കിടാക്കള്, ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാര്, കുഞ്ഞാടുകള്, കോതമ്പു, ഉപ്പു, വീഞ്ഞു, എണ്ണ എന്നിവയും യെരൂശലേമിലെ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് പറയുംപോലെ ദിവസംപ്രതി കുറവു കൂടാതെ കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

10. that they may offer sacrifices of sweet savor to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.

11. ആരെങ്കിലും ഈ കല്പന മാറ്റിയാല് അവന്റെ വീട്ടിന്റെ ഒരു ഉത്തരം വലിച്ചെടുത്തു നാട്ടി അതിന്മേല് അവനെ തൂക്കിക്കളകയും അവന്റെ വിടു അതുനിമിത്തം കുപ്പക്കുന്നു ആക്കിക്കളകയും വേണം എന്നും ഞാന് കല്പന കൊടുക്കുന്നു.

11. Also I have made a decree, that whoever will alter this word, let a beam be pulled out from his house, and let him be lifted up and fastened on it; and let his house be made a dunghill for this:

12. ഇതു മാറ്റുവാനും യെരൂശലേമിലെ ഈ ദൈവാലയം നശിപ്പിപ്പാനും തുനിയുന്ന ഏതു രാജാവിന്നു ജനത്തിന്നും തന്റെ നാമം അവിടെ വസിക്കുമാറാക്കിയ ദൈവം നിര്മ്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തും. ദാര്യ്യാവേശായ ഞാന് കല്പന കൊടുക്കുന്നു; ഇതു ജാഗ്രതയോടെ നിവര്ത്തിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

12. and the God who has caused his name to stay there overthrow all kings and peoples who will put forth their hand to alter [the same], to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with all diligence.

13. അപ്പോള് നദിക്കു ഇക്കരെയുള്ള ദേശാധിപതിയായ തത്നായിയും ശെഥര്-ബോസ്നായിയും അവരുടെ കൂട്ടക്കാരും ദാര്യ്യാവേശ്രാജാവു കല്പനയയച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ ജാഗ്രതയോടെ ചെയ്തു.

13. Then Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and their fellow slaves, because Darius the king had sent, did accordingly with all diligence.

14. യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാര് പണിതു; ഹഗ്ഗായിപ്രവാചകനും ഇദ്ദോവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഖര്യ്യാവും പ്രവചിച്ചതിനാല് അവര്ക്കും സാധിച്ചും വന്നു. അവര് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കല്പന പ്രകാരവും കോരെശിന്റെയും ദാര്യ്യാവേശിന്റെയും പാര്സിരാജാവായ അര്ത്ഥഹ് ശഷ്ടാവിന്റെയും കല്പനപ്രകാരവും അതു പണിതു തീര്ത്തു.

14. And the elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the decree of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

15. ദാര്യ്യാവേശ്രാജാവിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ ആറാം ആണ്ടില് ആദാര്മാസം മൂന്നാം തിയ്യതി ഈ ആലയം പണിതു തീര്ന്നു.

15. And this house was finished on the twenty-third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

16. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും ശേഷം പ്രവാസികളും സന്തോഷത്തോടെ ഈ ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ കഴിച്ചു.

16. And the sons of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the sons of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.

17. ഈ ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠെക്കു നൂറുകാളയെയും ഇരുനൂറു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും നാനൂറു കുഞ്ഞാടിനെയും യിസ്രായേല്ഗോത്രങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും വേണ്ടി പാപയാഗത്തിന്നായി പന്ത്രണ്ടു വെള്ളാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു

17. And they offered at the dedication of this house of God a hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin-offering for all Israel, twelve he-goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

18. മോശെയുടെ പുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവര് യെരൂശലേമിലുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കു പുരോഹിതന്മാരെ ക്കുറുക്കുറായും ലേവ്യരെ തരംതരമായും നിര്ത്തി.

18. And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the Book of Moses.

19. ഒന്നാം മാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതി പ്രവാസികള് പെസഹ ആചരിച്ചു.

19. And the sons of the captivity kept the Passover on the fourteenth [day] of the first month.

20. പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ ഒരുപോലെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവരായിരുന്നു; അവര് സകലപ്രവാസികള്ക്കും തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും തങ്ങള്ക്കും വേണ്ടി പെസഹ അറുത്തു.

20. For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves, all of them as one, but all the exiles had not purified themselves; for the Levites, all of them as one, were pure: and they killed the Passover for all the sons of the captivity, and for their brothers the priests, and for themselves.

21. അങ്ങനെ പ്രവാസത്തില്നിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്ന യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദേശത്തെ ജാതികളുടെ അശുദ്ധിയെ വെടിഞ്ഞു വന്നവര് ഒക്കെയും പെസഹ തിന്നു.

21. And the sons of Israel who had come again out of the captivity, and all such as had separated themselves to them from the filthiness of the nations of the land, to seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, ate,

22. യഹോവ അവരെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കയും യിസ്രായേലിന് ദൈവമായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പണിയില് അവരെ സഹായിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ അവര്ക്കും അനുകൂലമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ പെരുനാള് ഏഴു ദിവസം സന്തോഷത്തോടെ ആചരിച്ചു.

22. and kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for Yahweh had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
