1. അതിന്റെശേഷം പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് എന്റെ അടുക്കല്വന്നുയിസ്രായേല്ജനവും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും ദേശനിവാസികളോടു വേര്പെടാതെ കനാന്യര്, ഹിത്യര്, പെരിസ്യര്, യെബൂസ്യര്, അമ്മോന്യര്, മോവാബ്യര്, മിസ്രയീമ്യര്, അമോര്യ്യര് എന്നിവരുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛതകളെ ചെയ്തുവരുന്നു.
യോഹന്നാൻ 4:9

1. When all this was performed, the rulers came to me, and said: The people of Israel, and the priests, and Levites are not separated from the nations in the lands as touching their abominations, namely of the Cananites, Hethites, Pheresites, Jebusites, Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians, and Amorites.

2. അവരുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ അവര് തങ്ങള്ക്കും തങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും ഭാര്യമാരായി എടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു വിശുദ്ധസന്തതി ദേശനിവാസികളോടു ഇടകലര്ന്നു പോയി; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും പ്രമാണികളുടെയും കൈ തന്നേ ഈ അകൃത്യത്തില് ഒന്നാമതായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു.

2. For they have taken the daughters of the same, and their sons, and have mixt the holy seed with the nations in the lands: and the hand of the princes and rulers(rulers and lordes of councell) hath been principal in this trespass.

3. ഈ വര്ത്തമാനം കേട്ടപ്പോള് ഞാന് എന്റെ വസ്ത്രവും മേലങ്കിയും കീറി എന്റെ തലയിലും താടിയിലുമുള്ള രോമം വലിച്ചു പറിച്ചു സ്തംഭിച്ചു കുത്തിയിരുന്നു.

3. When I heard this, I rent my clothes and my raiment, and plucked off(plucte out) the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat mourning.

4. പ്രവാസികളുടെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം യിസ്രായേലിന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനത്തിങ്കല് വിറെക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുകൂടി; എന്നാല് ഞാന് സന്ധ്യായാഗംവരെ സ്തംഭിച്ചു കുത്തിയിരുന്നു.

4. And there resorted unto me all such as feared the word of the Lord(LORDE) God of Israel, because of the great transgression. And I sat mourning until the evening sacrifice.

5. സന്ധ്യായാഗത്തിന്റെ സമയത്തു ഞാന് എന്റെ ആത്മതപനം വിട്ടു എഴുന്നേറ്റു കീറിയ വസ്ത്രത്തോടും മേലങ്കിയോടും കൂടെ മുട്ടുകുത്തി എന്റെ മുട്ടുകുത്തി എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കലേക്കു കൈമലര്ത്തി പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

5. And about the evening sacrifice I rose up from my heaviness, and rent my clothes and my raiment, and fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God;

6. എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, ഞാന് എന്റെ മുഖം എന്റെ ദൈവമായ നിങ്കലേക്കു ഉയര്ത്തുവാന് ലജ്ജിച്ചു നാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ തലെക്കുമീതെ പെരുകി കവിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുറ്റം ആകാശത്തോളം വളര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. And said: My God, I am ashamed, and dare not lift up mine eyes unto thee my God: for our wickednesses are grown over our head, and our trespasses are waxen great unto the heaven.

7. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ കാലംമുതല് ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞങ്ങള് വലിയ കുറ്റക്കാരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള്നിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ രാജാക്കന്മാരും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ വിദേശരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില് വാളിന്നും പ്രവാസത്തിന്നും കവര്ച്ചെക്കും അപമാനത്തിന്നും ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. Since the time of our fathers have we been in great trespass unto this day, and because of our wickedness have we and our kings been delivered into the hand of the kings of the nations, in to the sword, in to captivity, in to spoil, and in to confusion of face, as it is come to pass this day.

8. ഇപ്പോഴോ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണുകളെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദാസ്യസ്ഥിതിയില് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു കുറഞ്ഞോരു ജീവശക്തി നല്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞങ്ങളില് ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പിനെ രക്ഷിച്ചു തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലത്തു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു പാര്പ്പിടം തരുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു ക്ഷണനേരത്തേക്കു ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കൃപ കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. But now is there a little and sodaine graciousness come from the LORD our God, so that some of us are escaped, that he may give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may light our eyes, and give us a little life in our bondage.

9. ഞങ്ങള് ദാസന്മാരാകുന്നു സത്യം; എങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദാസ്യസ്ഥിതിയില് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാതെ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയം പണികയും അതിന്റെ ശൂന്യങ്ങളെ നന്നാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ജീവശക്തി നലകുവാനും യെഹൂദയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു സങ്കേതം തരുവാനും പാര്സിരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ഭൃഷ്ടിയില് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ദയ ലഭിക്കുമാറാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. For we are bondmen, and our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage,(though we be bondmen) and hath inclined mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, that he should give us life, and promote the house of our God, and to set up the desolation thereof, and to give us an hedge in Judah and in Jerusalem.

10. ഇപ്പോള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമേ, ഇതിന്നു ഞങ്ങള് എന്തുപകാരം പറയേണ്ടു?

10. And now O our God, what shall we say after this: for we have forsaken thy commandments,

11. നിങ്ങള് കൈവശമാക്കുവാന് ചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശം ദേശനിവാസികളുടെ മലിനതയാലും ഒരു അറ്റംമുതല് മറ്റെ അറ്റംവരെ അവര് നിറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മ്ളേച്ഛതയാലും അവരുടെ അശുദ്ധിയാലും മലിനപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശമത്രേ.

11. which thou hast commanded by thy servants the Prophets, and said: The land unto which ye go(wherin ye shal come) to possess it, is an unclean land thorow the filthiness of the people of the lands, in their abominations wherewith they have made it full of uncleanness on every side.

12. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ശക്തിപ്പെട്ടു ദേശത്തിന്റെ നന്മ അനുഭവിച്ചു അതു എന്നേക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള്ക്കു അവകാശമായി വെച്ചേക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കാതെയും അവരുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ക്കും എടുക്കാതെയും അവരുടെ സമാധാനവും നന്മയും ഒരിക്കലും കരുതാതെയും ഇരിക്കേണം എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാര്മുഖാന്തരം നീ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത കല്പനകളെ ഞങ്ങള് ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

12. Therefore shall ye not give your daughters unto their sons, and their daughters shall ye not take unto your sons, and seek not their peace and wealth for ever, that ye may be strong, and enjoy the good in the land, and that ye and your children may have the inheritance of it for evermore.

13. ഇപ്പോള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തികളും മഹാപാതകവും ഹേതുവായി ഇതെല്ലാം ഞങ്ങളുടെ മേല് വന്നശേഷം ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമേ, നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള്ക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം ഞങ്ങളെ ശിക്ഷിക്കാതെ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പിനെ തന്നിരിക്കെ

13. And after all this that is come upon us (because of our evil deeds and great trespass) thou our God hast spared our wickednesses, and hast given us a deliverance as it is come to pass this day.

14. ഞങ്ങള് നിന്റെ കല്പനകളെ വീണ്ടും ലംഘിക്കയും ഈ മ്ളേച്ഛത ചെയ്യുന്ന ജാതികളോടു സംബന്ധം കൂടുകയും ചെയ്യാമോ? ചെയ്താല് ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പോ തെറ്റി ഒഴിഞ്ഞവരോ ഉണ്ടാകാതവണ്ണം നീ ഞങ്ങളെ മുടിച്ചുകളയുവോളം ഞങ്ങളോടു കോപിക്കയില്ലയോ?

14. As for us, we have turned back, and have let go thy commandments, to make contract with the people of these abominations. Wilt thou then be wroth at us, till we be utterly consumed, so that nothing remain, and there be no deliverance?

15. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നീ നീതിമാന് ; ഞങ്ങളോ ഇന്നുള്ളതു പോലെ തെറ്റി ഒഴിഞ്ഞ ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പത്രേ; ഞങ്ങളുടെ പാതകത്തോടുകൂടെ ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങള് നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അതു നിമിത്തം നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നില്പാന് ആര്ക്കും കഴിവില്ല.

15. O LORD God of Israel, thou art righteous, for we remain yet escaped, as it is this day. Behold in thy presence are we in our trespass, for because of it is there no standing before thee.
