1. യഹോവേ, നീ ദൂരത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നതെന്തു? കഷ്ടകാലത്തു നീ മറഞ്ഞുകളയുന്നതുമെന്തു?

1. Why do You stand far away, O Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?

2. ദുഷ്ടന്റെ അഹങ്കാരത്താല് എളിയവന് തപിക്കുന്നു; അവര് നിരൂപിച്ച ഉപായങ്ങളില് അവര് തന്നേ പിടിപെടട്ടെ.

2. The sinful, in their pride, try to catch the weak. Let them be caught in the plans they have made.

3. ദുഷ്ടന് തന്റെ മനോരഥത്തില് പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ദുരാഗ്രഹി യഹോവയെ ത്യജിച്ചു നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

3. The sinful man is proud of the desires of his heart. He praises those who want everything but he speaks against the Lord.

4. ദുഷ്ടന് ഉന്നതഭാവത്തോടെഅവന് ചോദിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നു; ദൈവം ഇല്ല എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നിരൂപണം ഒക്കെയും.

4. The sinful man in his pride does not look for God. All his thoughts are that there is no God.

5. അവന്റെ വഴികള് എല്ലായ്പോഴും സഫലമാകുന്നു; നിന്റെ ന്യായവിധികള് അവന് കാണാതവണ്ണം ഉയരമുള്ളവ; തന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളോടും അവന് ചീറുന്നു.

5. His ways always go well for him. Your laws are too high for him to see. He laughs at those who hate him.

6. ഞാന് കുലുങ്ങുകയില്ല, ഒരുനാളും അനര്ത്ഥത്തില് വീഴുകയുമില്ല എന്നു അവന് തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പറയുന്നു.

6. He says to himself, 'I will not be moved. For all time, I will never have trouble.'

7. അവന്റെ വായില് ശാപവും വ്യാജവും സാഹസവും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നാവിന് കീഴില് ദോഷവും അതിക്രമവും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

7. With his mouth he swears and lies. He makes it hard for other people. Trouble and sin are under his tongue.

8. അവന് ഗ്രാമങ്ങളുടെ ഒളിവുകളില് പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; മറവിടങ്ങളില്വെച്ചു അവന് കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവനെ കൊല്ലുന്നു; അവന് രഹസ്യമായി അഗതിയുടെമേല് കണ്ണു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. He lies hidden in the towns, waiting to kill those who are not guilty. His eyes are always watching for the weak.

9. സിംഹം മുറ്റുകാട്ടില് എന്നപോലെ അവന് മറവിടത്തില് പതുങ്ങുന്നു; എളിയവനെ പിടിപ്പാന് അവന് പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എളിയവനെ തന്റെ വലയില് ചാടിച്ചു പിടിക്കുന്നു.

9. He lies in wait like a hidden lion. He lies in wait to catch the weak, and they become caught in his net.

10. അവന് കുനിഞ്ഞു പതുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു; അഗതികള് അവന്റെ ബലത്താല് വീണു പോകുന്നു.

10. The weak are hurt and they fall. They cannot stand under his strength.

11. ദൈവം മറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു, അവന് തന്റെ മുഖം മറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് ഒരുനാളും കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു അവന് ഹൃദയത്തില് പറയുന്നു.

11. He says to himself, 'God has forgotten. He has hidden His face and will never see it.'

12. യഹോവേ, എഴുന്നേല്ക്കേണമേ, ദൈവമേ, തൃക്കൈ ഉയര്ത്തേണമേ; എളിയവരെ മറക്കരുതേ.

12. Rise up, O Lord! Lift up Your hand, O God. Do not forget the weak.

13. ദുഷ്ടന് ദൈവത്തെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നതും നീ ചോദിക്കയില്ല എന്നു തന്റെ ഉള്ളില് പറയുന്നതും എന്തിന്നു?

13. Why does the sinful man turn away from God? He has said to himself, 'You will not ask it of me.'

14. നീ അതു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, തൃക്കൈകൊണ്ടു പകരം ചെയ്വാന് ദോഷത്തെയും പകയെയും നീ നോക്കിക്കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അഗതി തന്നെത്താന് നിങ്കല് ഏല്പിക്കുന്നു; അനാഥന്നു നീ സഹായി ആകുന്നു.

14. But You have seen it. You look upon trouble and suffering, to take it into Your hands. The suffering man gives himself to You. You are the Helper of the one who has no father.

15. ദുഷ്ടന്റെ ഭുജത്തെ നീ ഒടിക്കേണമേ; ദോഷിയുടെ ദുഷ്ടത ഇല്ലാതെയാകുവോളം അതിന്നു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യേണമേ.

15. Break the arm of the bad and sinful man. Find out all his sins until You find no more.

16. യഹോവ എന്നെന്നേക്കും രാജാവാകുന്നു; ജാതികള് അവന്റെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു നശിച്ചു പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. The Lord is King forever and ever. Those who worship false gods will be taken from the land.

17. ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നുള്ള മര്ത്യന് ഇനി ഭയപ്പെടുത്താതിരിപ്പാന് നീ അനാഥന്നും പീഡിതന്നും ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു

17. O Lord, You have heard the prayers of those who have no pride. You will give strength to their heart, and You will listen to them.

18. യഹോവേ, നീ സാധുക്കളുടെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെ നീ ഉറപ്പിക്കയും നിന്റെ ചെവി ചായിച്ചു കേള്ക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

18. In this way, You will do the right thing for those without a father and those who suffer, so that man who is of the earth will no longer make them afraid.
