1. എളിയവനെ ആദരിക്കുന്നവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് ; അനര്ത്ഥദിവസത്തില് യഹോവ അവനെ വിടുവിക്കും.

1. Happy is the person who thinks about the poor. When trouble comes, the Lord will save him.

2. യഹോവ അവനെ കാത്തു ജീവനോടെ പാലിക്കും; അവന് ഭൂമിയില് ഭാഗ്യവാനായിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ ഇഷ്ടത്തിന്നു നീ അവനെ ഏല്പിക്കയില്ല;

2. The Lord will protect him and spare his life and will bless him in the land. He will not let his enemies take him.

3. യഹോവ അവനെ രോഗശയ്യയില് താങ്ങും. ദീനത്തില് നീ അവന്റെ കിടക്ക എല്ലാം മാറ്റിവിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. The Lord will give him strength when he is sick, and he will make him well again.

4. യഹോവേ, എന്നോടു കൃപ തോന്നി എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കേണമേ; നിന്നോടല്ലോ ഞാന് പാപം ചെയ്തതു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

4. I said, 'Lord, have mercy on me. Heal me, because I have sinned against you.'

5. അവന് എപ്പോള് മരിച്ചു അവന്റെ പേര് നശിക്കും എന്നു എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ദോഷം പറയുന്നു.

5. My enemies are saying evil things about me. They say, 'When will he die and be forgotten?'

6. ഒരുത്തന് എന്നെ കാണ്മാന് വന്നാല് അവന് കപടവാക്കു പറയുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം നീതികേടു സംഗ്രഹിക്കന്നു; അവന് പുറത്തുപോയി അതു പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു.

6. Some people come to see me, but they lie. They just come to get bad news. Then they go and gossip.

7. എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി തമ്മില് മന്ത്രിക്കുന്നു; അവര് എനിക്കു ദോഷം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നു.

7. All my enemies whisper about me and think the worst about me.

8. ഒരു ദുര്വ്യാധി അവന്നു പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് കിടപ്പിലായി; ഇനി അവന് എഴുന്നേല്ക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നു.

8. They say, 'He has a terrible disease. He will never get out of bed again.'

9. ഞാന് വിശ്വസിച്ചവനും എന്റെ അപ്പം തിന്നവനുമായ എന്റെ പ്രാണസ്നേഹിതന് പോലും എന്റെ നേരെ കുതികാല് ഉയര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. My best and truest friend, who ate at my table, has even turned against me.

10. ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും പകരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവേ, കൃപ തോന്നി എന്നെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കേണമേ.

10. Lord, have mercy on me. Give me strength so I can pay them back.

11. എന്റെ ശത്രു എന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി ജയഘോഷം കൊള്ളാതിരിക്കുന്നതിനാല് നിനക്കു എന്നില് പ്രസാദമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

11. Because my enemies do not defeat me, I know you are pleased with me.

12. നീ എന്റെ നഷ്കളങ്കത്വംനിമിത്തം എന്നെ താങ്ങുന്നു, നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് എന്നേക്കും എന്നെ നിര്ത്തിക്കൊള്ളുന്നു.

12. Because I am innocent, you support me and will let me be with you forever.
