1. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടതിന്റെ മൂന്നാം മാസത്തില് അതേ ദിവസം അവര് സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയില് എത്തി.

1. And in the third month of the departure of the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came into the Wilderness of Sinai.

2. അവര് രെഫീദീമില്നിന്നു യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു, സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയില് വന്നു, മരുഭൂമിയില് പാളയമിറങ്ങി; അവിടെ പര്വ്വതത്തിന്നു എതിരെ യിസ്രായേല് പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

2. And they departed from Rephidim, and came into the Wilderness of Sinai, and there Israel encamped before the mountain.

3. മോശെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കയറിച്ചെന്നു; യഹോവ പര്വ്വതത്തില് നിന്നു അവനോടു വിളിച്ചു കല്പിച്ചതുനീ യാക്കോബ് ഗൃഹത്തോടു പറകയും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്

3. And Moses went up to the mount of God, and God called him out of the mountain, saying, These things shall you say to the house of Jacob, and you shall report them to the children of Israel.

4. ഞാന് മിസ്രയീമ്യരോടു ചെയ്തതും നിങ്ങളെ കഴുകന്മാരുടെ ചിറകിന്മേല് വഹിച്ചു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുത്തിയതും നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടുവല്ലോ.

4. You have seen all that I have done to the Egyptians, and I took you up as upon eagles' wings, and I brought you near to Myself.

5. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു അനുസരിക്കയും എന്റെ നിയമം പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് നിങ്ങള് എനിക്കു സകലജാതികളിലുംവെച്ചു പ്രത്യേക സമ്പത്തായിരിക്കും; ഭൂമി ഒക്കെയും എനിക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ.

5. And now if you will indeed hear My voice, and keep My covenant, you shall be to Me a peculiar people above all nations; for the whole earth is Mine.

6. നിങ്ങള് എനിക്കു ഒരു പുരോഹിതരാജത്വവും വിശുദ്ധജനവും ആകും. ഇവ നീ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു പറയേണ്ടുന്ന വചനങ്ങള് ആകുന്നു.

6. And you shall be to Me a royal priesthood and a holy nation. These words shall you speak to the children of Israel.

7. മോശെ വന്നു ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു, യഹോവ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ച ഈ വചനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും അവരെ പറഞ്ഞു കേള്പ്പിച്ചു.

7. And Moses came and called the elders of the people, and he set before them all these words, which God appointed them.

8. യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങള് ചെയ്യും എന്നു ജനം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. മോശെ ജനത്തിന്റെ വാക്കു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

8. And all the people answered with one accord, and said, All things that God has spoken, we will do and hearken to. And Moses reported these words to God.

9. യഹോവ മോശെയോടുഞാന് നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോള് ജനം കേള്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്നെ എന്നേക്കും വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞാന് ഇതാ, മേഘതമസ്സില് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, ജനത്തിന്റെ വാക്കു മോശെ യഹോവയോടു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

9. And the Lord said to Moses, Behold, I come to you in a pillar of a cloud, that the people may hear Me speaking to you, and may believe you forever. And Moses reported the words of the people to the Lord.

10. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുനീ ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു ഇന്നും നാളെയും അവരെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്ക;

10. And the Lord said to Moses, Go down and solemnly charge the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments.

11. അവര് വസ്ത്രം അലക്കി, മൂന്നാം ദിവസത്തേക്കു ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കട്ടേ; മൂന്നാം ദിവസം യഹോവ സകല ജനവും കാണ്കെ സീനായിപര്വ്വത്തില് ഇറങ്ങും.

11. And let them be ready for the third day, for on the third day the Lord will descend upon Mount Sinai before all the people.

12. ജനം പര്വ്വതത്തില് കയറാതെയും അതിന്റെ അടിവാരം തൊടാതെയും ഇരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നീ അവര്ക്കായി ചുറ്റും അതിര് തിരിക്കേണം; പര്വ്വതം തൊടുന്നവന് എല്ലാം മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

12. And you shall separate the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves that you go not up into the mountain, nor touch any part of it: whoever touches the mountain shall surely die.

13. കൈ തൊടാതെ അവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞോ എയ്തോ കൊന്നുകളയേണം; മൃഗമായാലും മനുഷ്യനായാലും ജീവനോടിരിക്കരുതു. കാഹളം ദീര്ഘമായി ധ്വനിക്കുമ്പോള് അവര് പര്വ്വതത്തിന്നു അടുത്തു വരട്ടെ.

13. A hand shall not touch it, for [everyone that touches] shall be stoned with stones or shot through with a dart, whether beast or man, it shall not live; when the voices and trumpets and cloud depart from off the mountain, they shall come up on the mountain.

14. മോശെ പര്വ്വതത്തില്നിന്നു ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു ജനത്തെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു; അവര് വസ്ത്രം അലക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

14. And Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified them, and they washed their clothes.

15. അവന് ജനത്തോടുമൂന്നാം ദിവസത്തേക്കു ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പിന് ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And he said to the people, Be ready: for three days do not come near to a woman.

16. മൂന്നാം ദിവസം നേരം വെളുത്തപ്പോള് ഇടിമുഴക്കവും മിന്നലും പര്വ്വതത്തില് കാര്മേഘവും മഹാഗംഭീരമായ കാഹളധ്വനിയും ഉണ്ടായി; പാളയത്തിലുള്ള ജനം ഒക്കെയും നടുങ്ങി.

16. And it came to pass on the third day, as the morning drew nigh, there were voices and lightnings and a dark cloud on Mount Sinai. The voice of the trumpet sounded loud, and all the people in the camp trembled.

17. ദൈവത്തെ എതിരേല്പാന് മോശെ ജനത്തെ പാളയത്തില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു; അവര് പര്വ്വതത്തിന്റെ അടിവാരത്തുനിന്നു.

17. And Moses led the people forth out of the camp to meet God, and they stood by under the camp.

18. യഹോവ തീയില് സീനായി പര്വ്വതത്തില് ഇറങ്ങുകയാല് അതു മുഴുവനും പുകകൊണ്ടു മൂടി; അതിന്റെ പുക തീച്ചൂളയിലെ പുകപോലെ പൊങ്ങി; പര്വ്വതം ഒക്കെയും ഏറ്റവും കുലുങ്ങി.

18. Now Mount Sinai was altogether in smoke, because God had descended upon it in fire; and the smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and the people were exceedingly amazed.

19. കാഹളധ്വനി ദീര്ഘമായി ഉറച്ചുറച്ചുവന്നപ്പോള് മോശെ സംസാരിച്ചു; ദൈവം ഉച്ചത്തില് അവനോടു ഉത്തരം അരുളി.

19. And the sounds of the trumpet were growing much louder. Moses spoke, and God answered him with a voice.

20. യഹോവ സീനായി പര്വ്വതത്തില് പര്വ്വതത്തിന്റെ കൊടുമുടിയില് ഇറങ്ങി; യഹോവ മോശെയെ പര്വ്വതത്തിന്റെ കൊടുമുടിയിലേക്കു വിളിച്ചു; മോശെ കയറിച്ചെന്നു.

20. And the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai on the top of the mountain; and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

21. യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്ജനം നോക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കല് കടന്നുവന്നിട്ടു അവരില് പലരും നശിച്ചുപോകാതിരിപ്പാന് നീ ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അവരോടു അമര്ച്ചയായി കല്പിക്ക.

21. And God spoke to Moses, saying, Go down, and solemnly charge the people, lest at any time they draw near to God to gaze, and many of them perish.

22. യഹോവയോടു അടുക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരും യഹോവ അവര്ക്കും ഹാനി വരുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തങ്ങളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കട്ടെ.

22. And let the priests that draw near to the Lord God sanctify themselves, lest He destroy some of them.

23. മോശെ യഹോവയോടുജനത്തിന്നു സീനായിപര്വ്വത്തില് കയറുവാന് പാടില്ല; പര്വ്വതത്തിന്നു അതിര് തിരിച്ചു അതിനെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുക എന്നു ഞങ്ങളോടു അമര്ച്ചയായി കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. And Moses said to God, The people cannot approach Mount Sinai, for You have solemnly charged us, saying, Set boundaries around the mountain and sanctify it.

24. യഹോവ അവനോടുഇറങ്ങിപ്പോക; നീ അഹരോനുമായി കയറിവരിക; എന്നാല് പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനവും യഹോവ അവര്ക്കും നാശം വരുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കയറുവാന് അതിര് കടക്കരുതു.

24. And the Lord said to him, Go down and then come up, you and Aaron with you; but let not the priests and the people force their way to come up to God, lest the Lord destroy some of them.

25. അങ്ങനെ മോശെ ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. And Moses went down to the people, and spoke to them.
