1. And God spake all these words and said:

2. അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയായ ഞാന് നിന്റെ ദൈവം ആകുന്നു.

2. I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt and out of the house of bondage.

3. ഞാനല്ലാതെ അന്യദൈവങ്ങള് നിനക്കു ഉണ്ടാകരുതു.

3. Thou shalt have none other gods in my sight.

4. ഒരു വിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കരുതു; മിതെ സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് എങ്കിലും താഴെ ഭൂമിയില് എങ്കിലും ഭൂമിക്കു കീഴെ വെള്ളത്തില് എങ്കിലും ഉള്ള യാതൊന്നിന്റെ പ്രതിമയും അരുതു.

4. Thou shalt make thee no graven image, neither any similitude that is in heaven above, either in the earth beneath, or in the water that is beneath the earth.

5. അവയെ നമസ്കരിക്കയോ സേവിക്കയോ ചെയ്യരുതു. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയായ ഞാന് തീക്ഷ്ണതയുള്ള ദൈവം ആകുന്നു; എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവരില് പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യം മൂന്നാമത്തെയും നാലാമത്തെയും തലമുറവരെ മക്കളുടെ മേല് സന്ദര്ശിക്കയും

5. See that thou neither bow thyself unto them neither serve them: for I the LORD thy God, am a jealous God, and visit the sin of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me:

6. എന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും ആയിരം തലമുറ വരെ ദയകാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

6. and yet shew mercy unto thousands among them that love me and keep my commandments.

7. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമം വൃഥാ എടുക്കരുതു; തന്റെ നാമം വൃഥാ എടുക്കുന്നവനെ യഹോവ ശിക്ഷിക്കാതെ വിടുകയില്ല.

7. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

10. but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God, in it thou shalt do no manner work: neither thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, neither thy manservant nor thy maidservant, neither thy cattle neither yet the stranger that is within thy gates.

11. ആറു ദിവസംകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സമുദ്രവും അവയിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി, ഏഴാം ദിവസം സ്വസ്ഥമായിരുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. For in six days the LORD made both heaven and earth and the sea and all that in them is and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

16. കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ നേരെ കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുതു.

16. Thou shalt bear no false witness against thy neighbour.

17. കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭവനത്തെ മോഹിക്കരുതു; കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും അവന്റെ ദാസനെയും ദാസിയെയും അവന്റെ കാളയെയും കഴുതയെയും കൂട്ടുകാരനുള്ള യാതൊന്നിനെയും മോഹിക്കരുതു.

17. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house: neither shalt covet thy neighbour's wife, his manservant, his maid, his ox, his ass or ought that is his.

18. ജനം ഒക്കെയും ഇടിമുഴക്കവും മിന്നലും കാഹളധ്വനിയും പര്വ്വതം പുകയുന്നതും കണ്ടു; ജനം അതുകണ്ടപ്പോള് വിറെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു.

18. And all the people saw the thunder and the lightning and the noise of the horn, and how the mountain smoked.

19. അവര് മോശെയോടുനീ ഞങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്ക; ഞങ്ങള് കേട്ടുകൊള്ളാം; ഞങ്ങള് മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്കരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. And when the people saw it, they removed and stood afar off and said unto Moses: talk thou with us and we will hear, but let not God talk with us, lest we die.

20. മോശെ ജനത്തോടുഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; നിങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിങ്ങള് പാപം ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാന് അവങ്കലുള്ള ഭയം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും അത്രേ ദൈവം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And Moses said unto the people fear not, for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be among you that ye sin not.

21. അങ്ങനെ ജനം ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു; മോശെയോ ദൈവം ഇരുന്ന ഇരുളിന്നു അടുത്തുചെന്നു.

21. And the people stood afar off, and Moses went into the thick cloud where God was.

22. അപ്പോള് യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുനീ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു ഇപ്രകാരം പറയേണംഞാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചതു നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

22. And the LORD said unto Moses: thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel: Ye have seen how that I have talked with you from out of heaven.

23. എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് വെള്ളികൊണ്ടുള്ള ദേവന്മാരെയോ പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ദേവന്മാരെയോ നിങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടാക്കരുതു.

23. Ye shall not make therefore with me gods of silver nor gods of gold: in no wise shall ye do it.

24. എനിക്കു മണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം ഉണ്ടാക്കി അതിന്മേല് നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെയും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളെയും നിന്റെ ആടുകളെയും കന്നുകാലികളെയും അര്പ്പിക്കേണം. ഞാന് എന്റെ നാമത്തിന്റെ സ്മരണ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്ന ഏതു സ്ഥലത്തും ഞാന് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

24. An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me and thereon offer thy burnt offerings and thy peace offerings, and thy sheep and thine oxen. And in all places where I shall put the remembrance of my name, thither I will come unto thee and bless thee.

25. കല്ലു കൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു യാഗപീഠം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് ചെത്തിയ കല്ലുകൊണ്ടു അതു പണിയരുതു; നിന്റെ ആയുധംകൊണ്ടു അതിനെ തൊട്ടാല് നീ അതിനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കും.

25. But and if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, see thou make it not of hewed stone, for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou shalt pollute it.

26. എന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കല് നിന്റെ നഗ്നത കാണാതിരിപ്പാന് നീ അതിങ്കല് പടികളാല് കയറരുതു.

26. Moreover thou shalt not go up with steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not shewed thereon.
