1. മൃദുവായ ഉത്തരം ക്രോധത്തെ ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; കഠിനവാക്കോ കോപത്തെ ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

1. A kind answer soothes angry feelings, but harsh words stir them up.

2. ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ നാവു നല്ല പരിജ്ഞാനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു. മൂഢന്മാരുടെ വായോ ഭോഷത്വം പൊഴിക്കുന്നു.

2. Words of wisdom come from the wise, but fools speak foolishness.

3. യഹോവയുടെ കണ്ണു എല്ലാടവും ഉണ്ടു; ആകാത്തവരെയും നല്ലവരെയും നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. The LORD sees everything, whether good or bad.

4. നാവിന്റെ ശാന്തത ജീവവൃക്ഷം; അതിന്റെ വക്രതയോ മനോവ്യസനം.

4. Kind words are good medicine, but deceitful words can really hurt.

5. ഭോഷന് അപ്പന്റെ പ്രബോധനം നിരസിക്കുന്നു; ശാസനയെ കൂട്ടാക്കുന്നവനോ വിവേകിയായ്തീരും.

5. Don't be a fool and disobey your parents. Be smart! Accept correction.

6. നീതിമാന്റെ വീട്ടില് വളരെ നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടു; ദുഷ്ടന്റെ ആദായത്തിലോ അനര്ത്ഥം.

6. Good people become wealthy, but those who are evil will lose what they have.

7. ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ അധരങ്ങള് പരിജ്ഞാനം വിതറുന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയമോ നേരുള്ളതല്ല.

7. Words of wisdom make good sense; the thoughts of a fool make no sense at all.

8. ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ യാഗം യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; നേരുള്ളവരുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയോ അവന്നു പ്രസാദം.

8. The LORD is disgusted by gifts from the wicked, but it makes him happy when his people pray.

9. ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വഴി യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; എന്നാല് നീതിയെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവനെ അവന് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

9. The LORD is disgusted with all who do wrong, but he loves everyone who does right.

10. സന്മാര്ഗ്ഗം ത്യജിക്കുന്നവന്നു കഠിനശിക്ഷ വരും; ശാസന വെറുക്കുന്നവന് മരിക്കും.

10. If you turn from the right way, you will be punished; if you refuse correction, you will die.

11. പാതാളവും നരകവും യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയില് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങള് എത്ര അധികം!

11. If the LORD can see everything in the world of the dead, he can see in our hearts.

12. പരിഹാസി ശാസന ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നില്ല; ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെല്ലുന്നതുമില്ല.

12. Those who sneer at others don't like to be corrected, and they won't ask help from someone with sense.

13. സന്തോഷമുള്ള ഹൃദയം മുഖപ്രസാദമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ഹൃദയത്തിലെ വ്യസനംകൊണ്ടോ ധൈര്യം ക്ഷയിക്കുന്നു.

13. Happiness makes you smile; sorrow can crush you.

14. വിവേകമുള്ളവന്റെ ഹൃദയം പരിജ്ഞാനം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ വായോ ഭോഷത്വം ആചരിക്കുന്നു.

14. Anyone with good sense is eager to learn more, but fools are hungry for foolishness.

15. അരിഷ്ടന്റെ ജീവനാള് ഒക്കെയും കഷ്ടകാലം; സന്തുഷ്ടഹൃദയന്നോ നിത്യം ഉത്സവം.

15. The poor have a hard life, but being content is as good as an endless feast.

16. ബഹു നിക്ഷേപവും അതിനോടുകൂടെ കഷ്ടതയും ഉള്ളതിനെക്കാള് യഹോവാഭക്തിയോടുകൂടെ അല്പധനം ഉള്ളതു നന്നു.

16. It's better to obey the LORD and have only a little, than to be very rich and terribly confused.

17. ദ്വേഷമുള്ളെടത്തെ തടിപ്പിച്ച കാളയെക്കാള് സ്നേഹമുള്ളെടത്തെ ശാകഭോജനം നല്ലതു.

17. A simple meal with love is better than a feast where there is hatred.

18. ക്രോധമുള്ള കലഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവനോ കലഹം ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

18. Losing your temper causes a lot of trouble, but staying calm settles arguments.

19. മടിയന്റെ വഴി മുള്ളുവേലിപോലെയാകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ പാതയോ പെരുവഴി തന്നേ.

19. Being lazy is like walking in a thorn patch, but everyone who does right walks on a smooth road.

20. ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മകന് അപ്പനെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; മൂഢനോ അമ്മയെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

20. Children with good sense make their parents happy, but foolish children are hateful to them.

21. ഭോഷത്വം ബുദ്ധിഹീനന്നു സന്തോഷം; വിവേകിയോ ചൊവ്വായി നടക്കുന്നു.

21. Stupidity brings happiness to senseless fools, but everyone with good sense follows the straight path.

22. ആലോചന ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങള് സാധിക്കാതെ പോകുന്നു; ആലോചനക്കാരുടെ ബഹുത്വത്താലോ അവ സാധിക്കുന്നു.

22. Without good advice everything goes wrong-- it takes careful planning for things to go right.

23. താന് പറയുന്ന ഉത്തരം ഹേതുവായി മനുഷ്യന്നു സന്തോഷം വരും; തക്കസമയത്തു പറയുന്ന വാക്കു എത്ര മനോഹരം!

23. Giving the right answer at the right time makes everyone happy.

24. ബുദ്ധിമാന്റെ ജീവയാത്ര മേലോട്ടാകുന്നു; കീഴെയുള്ള പാതാളത്തെ അവന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

24. All who are wise follow a road that leads upward to life and away from death.

25. അഹങ്കാരിയുടെ വീടു യഹോവ പൊളിച്ചുകളയും; വിധവയുടെ അതിരോ അവന് ഉറപ്പിക്കും.

25. The LORD destroys the homes of those who are proud, but he protects the property of widows.

26. ദുരുപായങ്ങള് യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; ദയാവാക്കോ നിര്മ്മലം.

26. The LORD hates evil thoughts, but kind words please him.

27. ദുരാഗ്രഹി തന്റെ ഭവനത്തെ വലെക്കുന്നു; കോഴ വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും.

27. Being greedy causes trouble for your family, but you protect yourself by refusing bribes.

28. നീതിമാന് മനസ്സില് ആലോചിച്ചു ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വായോ ദോഷങ്ങളെ പൊഴിക്കുന്നു.

28. Good people think before they answer, but the wicked speak evil without ever thinking.

29. യഹോവ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയോ അവന് കേള്ക്കുന്നു.

29. The LORD never even hears the prayers of the wicked, but he answers the prayers of all who obey him.

30. കണ്ണിന്റെ ശോഭ ഹൃദയത്തെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; നല്ല വര്ത്തമാനം അസ്ഥികളെ തണുപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

30. A friendly smile makes you happy, and good news makes you feel strong.

31. ജീവാര്ത്ഥമായ ശാസന കേള്ക്കുന്ന ചെവിയുള്ളവന് ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ വസിക്കും.

31. Healthy correction is good, and if you accept it, you will be wise.

32. പ്രബോധനം ത്യജിക്കുന്നവന് തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നിരസിക്കുന്നു; ശാസന കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുന്നവനോ വിവേകം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നു.

32. You hurt only yourself by rejecting instruction, but it makes good sense to accept it.

33. യഹോവാഭക്തി ജ്ഞാനോപദേശമാകുന്നു; മാനത്തിന്നു വിനയം മുന്നോടിയാകുന്നു.

33. Showing respect to the LORD will make you wise, and being humble will bring honor to you.
