1. ഹൃദയത്തിലെ നിരൂപണങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യന്നുള്ളവ; നാവിന്റെ ഉത്തരമോ യഹോവയാല് വരുന്നു.

1. We may make our plans, but God has the last word.

2. മനുഷ്യന്നു തന്റെ വഴികളൊക്കെയും വെടിപ്പായി തോന്നുന്നു; യഹോവയോ ആത്മാക്കളെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നു.

2. You may think everything you do is right, but the LORD judges your motives.

6. Be loyal and faithful, and God will forgive your sin. Obey the LORD and nothing evil will happen to you.

7. ഒരുത്തന്റെ വഴികള് യഹോവേക്കു ഇഷ്ടമായിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെയും അവനോടു ഇണക്കുന്നു.

7. When you please the LORD, you can make your enemies into friends.

8. ന്യായരഹിതമായ വലിയ വരവിനെക്കാള് നീതിയോടെയുള്ള അല്പം നല്ലതു.

8. It is better to have a little, honestly earned, than to have a large income, dishonestly gained.

9. മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഹൃദയം തന്റെ വഴിയെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ കാലടികളെയോ യഹോവ ക്രമപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.

9. You may make your plans, but God directs your actions.

10. രാജാവിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടു; ന്യായവിധിയില് അവന്റെ വായ് പിഴെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

10. The king speaks with divine authority; his decisions are always right.

11. ഒത്ത വെള്ളിക്കോലും ത്രാസും യഹോവേക്കുള്ളവ; സഞ്ചിയിലെ പടി ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാകുന്നു.

11. The LORD wants weights and measures to be honest and every sale to be fair.

12. ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നതു രാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും വെറുപ്പു; നീതികൊണ്ടല്ലോ സിംഹാസനം സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുന്നതു.

12. Kings cannot tolerate evil, because justice is what makes a government strong.

13. നീതിയുള്ള അധരങ്ങള് രാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും പ്രസാദം; നേര് പറയുന്നവനെ അവര് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

13. A king wants to hear the truth and will favor those who speak it.

14. രാജാവിന്റെ ക്രോധം മരണദൂതന്നു തുല്യം; ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മനുഷ്യനോ അതിനെ ശമിപ്പിക്കും.

14. A wise person will try to keep the king happy; if the king becomes angry, someone may die.

15. രാജാവിന്റെ മുഖപ്രകാശത്തില് ജീവന് ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പ്രസാദം പിന്മഴെക്കുള്ള മേഘം പോലെയാകുന്നു.

15. The king's favor is like the clouds that bring rain in the springtime---life is there.

16. തങ്കത്തെക്കാള് ജ്ഞാനത്തെ സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു എത്ര നല്ലതു! വെള്ളിയെക്കാള് വിവേകം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു എത്ര ഉത്തമം!

16. It is better---much better---to have wisdom and knowledge than gold and silver.

17. ദോഷം അകറ്റിനടക്കുന്നതു നേരുള്ളവരുടെ പെരുവഴി; തന്റെ വഴി സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

17. Those who are good travel a road that avoids evil; so watch where you are going---it may save your life.

18. നാശത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ ഗര്വ്വം; വീഴ്ചകൂ മുമ്പെ ഉന്നതഭാവം.

18. Pride leads to destruction, and arrogance to downfall.

19. ഗര്വ്വികളോടുകൂടെ കവര്ച്ച പങ്കിടുന്നതിനെക്കാള് താഴ്മയുള്ളവരോടുകൂടെ താഴ്മയുള്ളവനായിരിക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.

19. It is better to be humble and stay poor than to be one of the arrogant and get a share of their loot.

20. തിരുവചനം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവന് നന്മ കണ്ടെത്തും; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

20. Pay attention to what you are taught, and you will be successful; trust in the LORD and you will be happy.

21. ജ്ഞാനഹൃദയന് വിവേകി എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; അധരമാധുര്യം വിദ്യയെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

21. A wise, mature person is known for his understanding. The more pleasant his words, the more persuasive he is.

22. വിവേകം വിവേകിക്കു ജീവന്റെ ഉറവാകുന്നു. ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ പ്രബോധനമോ ഭോഷത്വം തന്നേ.

22. Wisdom is a fountain of life to the wise, but trying to educate stupid people is a waste of time.

23. ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ വായെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങള്ക്കു വിദ്യ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

23. Intelligent people think before they speak; what they say is then more persuasive.

24. ഇമ്പമുള്ള വാക്കു തേന് കട്ടയാകുന്നു; മനസ്സിന്നു മധുരവും അസ്ഥികള്ക്കു ഔഷധവും തന്നേ;

24. Kind words are like honey---sweet to the taste and good for your health.

25. ചിലപ്പോള് ഒരു വഴി മനുഷ്യന്നു ചൊവ്വായി തോന്നുന്നു. അതിന്റെ അവസാനമോ മരണവഴികള് അത്രേ.

26. A laborer's appetite makes him work harder, because he wants to satisfy his hunger.

27. നിസ്സാരമനുഷ്യന് പാതകം എന്ന കുഴികുഴിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് കത്തുന്ന തീ ഉണ്ടു.

27. Evil people look for ways to harm others; even their words burn with evil.

28. വക്രതയുള്ള മനുഷ്യന് വഴക്കു ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ഏഷണിക്കാരന് മിത്രങ്ങളെ ഭേദിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

28. Gossip is spread by wicked people; they stir up trouble and break up friendships.

29. സഹാസക്കാരന് കൂട്ടുകാരനെ വശീകരിക്കയും കൊള്ളരുതാത്ത വഴിയില് നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

29. Violent people deceive their friends and lead them to disaster.

30. കണ്ണു അടെക്കുന്നവന് വക്രത നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; വപ്പു കടിക്കുന്നവന് ദോഷം നിവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

30. Watch out for people who grin and wink at you; they have thought of something evil.

31. നരച്ച തല ശോഭയുള്ള കിരീടമാകുന്നു; നീതിയുടെ മാര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് അതിനെ പ്രാപിക്കാം.

31. Long life is the reward of the righteous; gray hair is a glorious crown.

32. ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവന് യുദ്ധവീരനിലും ജിതമാനസന് പട്ടണം പിടിക്കുന്നവനിലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠന് .

32. It is better to be patient than powerful. It is better to win control over yourself than over whole cities.

33. ചീട്ടു മടിയില് ഇടുന്നു; അതിന്റെ വിധാനമോ യഹോവയാലത്രേ.
