1. കൂടക്കൂടെ ശാസന കേട്ടിട്ടും ശാഠ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നവന് നീക്കുപോക്കില്ലാതെ പെട്ടെന്നു നശിച്ചുപോകും.

1. A man that hardeneth his necke when he is rebuked, shall suddenly be destroyed and can not be cured.

2. നീതിമാന്മാര് വര്ദ്ധിക്കുമ്പോള് ജനം സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന് ആധിപത്യം നടത്തുമ്പോഴോ ജനം നെടുവീര്പ്പിടുന്നു.

2. When the righteous are in authoritie, the people reioyce: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people sigh.

3. ജ്ഞാനത്തില് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവന് തന്റെ അപ്പനെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; വേശ്യകളോടു സഹവാസം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ തന്റെ സമ്പത്തു നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

3. A man that loueth wisdome, reioyceth his father: but he that feedeth harlots, wasteth his substance.

4. രാജാവു ന്യായപാലനത്താല് രാജ്യത്തെ നിലനിര്ത്തുന്നു; നികുതി വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനോ അതിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

4. A King by iudgement mainteineth ye countrey: but a man receiuing giftes, destroyeth it.

5. കൂട്ടുകാരനോടു മുഖസ്തുതി പറയുന്നവന് അവന്റെ കാലിന്നു ഒരു വല വിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. A man that flattereth his neighbour, spreadeth a net for his steps.

6. ദുഷ്കര്മ്മി തന്റെ ലംഘനത്തില് കുടുങ്ങുന്നു; നീതിമാനോ ഘോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

6. In the transgression of an euill man is his snare: but the righteous doeth sing and reioyce.

7. നീതിമാന് അഗതികളുടെ കാര്യം അറിയുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടനോ പരിജ്ഞാനം ഇന്നതെന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ല.

7. The righteous knoweth the cause of the poore: but the wicked regardeth not knowledge.

8. പരിഹാസികള് പട്ടണത്തില് കോപാഗ്നി ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ജ്ഞാനികളോ ക്രോധത്തെ ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

8. Scornefull men bring a citie into a snare: but wise men turne away wrath.

9. ജ്ഞാനിക്കും ഭോഷന്നും തമ്മില് വാഗ്വാദം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു അവന് കോപിച്ചാലോ ചിരിച്ചാലോ ശമനം വരികയില്ല.

9. If a wise man contend with a foolish man, whether he be angry or laugh, there is no rest.

10. രക്തപാതകന്മാര് നിഷ്കളങ്കനെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; നേരുള്ളവരോ അവന്റെ പ്രാണരക്ഷ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.

10. Bloodie men hate him that is vpright: but the iust haue care of his soule.

11. മൂഢന് തന്റെ കോപത്തെ മുഴുവനും വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനിയോ അതിനെ അടക്കി ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

11. A foole powreth out all his minde: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterward.

12. അധിപതി നുണ കേള്പ്പാന് തുടങ്ങിയാല് അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരൊക്കെയും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരാകും.

12. Of a prince that hearkeneth to lyes, all his seruants are wicked.

13. ദരിദ്രനും പീഡകനും തമ്മില് എതിര്പെടുന്നു; ഇരുവരുടെയും കണ്ണു യഹോവ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

13. The poore and the vsurer meete together, and the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.

14. അഗതികള്ക്കു വിശ്വസ്തതയോടെ ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യുന്ന രാജാവിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കും.

14. A King that iudgeth the poore in trueth, his throne shalbe established for euer.

15. വടിയും ശാസനയും ജ്ഞാനത്തെ നലകുന്നു; തന്നിഷ്ടത്തിന്നു വിട്ടിരുന്ന ബാലനോ അമ്മെക്കു ലജ്ജ വരുത്തുന്നു.

15. The rodde and correction giue wisdome: but a childe set a libertie, maketh his mother ashamed.

16. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് പെരുകുമ്പോള് അതിക്രമം പെരുകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ അവരുടെ വീഴ്ച കാണും.

16. When the wicked are increased, transgression increaseth: but ye righteous shall see their fall.

17. നിന്റെ മകനെ ശിക്ഷിക്ക; അവന് നിനക്കു ആശ്വാസമായ്തീരും; അവന് നിന്റെ മനസ്സിന്നു പ്രമോദംവരുത്തും.

17. Correct thy sonne and he will giue thee rest, and will giue pleasures to thy soule.

18. വെളിപ്പാടു ഇല്ലാത്തെടത്തു ജനം മര്യാദവിട്ടു നടക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണം കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നവനോ ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

18. Where there is no vision, the people decay: but he that keepeth the Lawe, is blessed.

19. ദാസനെ ഗുണീകരിപ്പാന് വാക്കു മാത്രം പോരാ; അവന് അതു ഗ്രഹിച്ചാലും കൂട്ടാക്കുകയില്ലല്ലോ.

19. A seruant will not be chastised with words: though he vnderstand, yet he will not answere.

20. വാക്കില് ബദ്ധപ്പാടുള്ള മനുഷ്യനെ നീ കാണുന്നുവോ? അവനെക്കാള് മൂഢനെക്കുറിച്ചു അധികം പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു.

20. Seest thou a man hastie in his matters? there is more hope of a foole, then of him.

21. ദാസനെ ബാല്യംമുതല് ലാളിച്ചുവളര്ത്തുന്നവനോടു അവന് ഒടുക്കം ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിക്കും.

21. He that delicately bringeth vp his seruant from youth, at length he will be euen as his sone.

22. കോപമുള്ളവന് വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ക്രോധമുള്ളവന് അതിക്രമം വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

22. An angrie man stirreth vp strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

23. മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഗര്വ്വം അവനെ താഴ്ത്തിക്കളയും; മനോവിനയമുള്ളവനോ മാനം പ്രാപിക്കും.

23. The pride of a man shall bring him lowe: but the humble in spirit shall enioy glory.

24. കള്ളനുമായി പങ്കു കൂടുന്നവന് സ്വന്ത പ്രാണനെ പകെക്കുന്നു; അവന് സത്യവാചകം കേള്ക്കുന്നു; ഒന്നും പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നില്ലതാനും.

24. He that is partner with a thiefe, hateth his owne soule: he heareth cursing, and declareth it not.

25. മാനുഷഭയം ഒരു കണി ആകുന്നു; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കും.

25. The feare of man bringeth a snare: but he that trusteth in the Lord, shalbe exalted.

26. അനേകര് അധിപതിയുടെ മുഖപ്രസാദം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യന്റെ ന്യായവിധിയോ യഹോവയാല് വരുന്നു.

26. Many doe seeke the face of the ruler: but euery mans iudgement commeth from the Lord.

27. നീതികെട്ടവന് നീതിമാന്മാര്ക്കും വെറുപ്പു; സന്മാര്ഗ്ഗി ദുഷ്ടന്മാര്ക്കും വെറുപ്പു.

27. A wicked man is abomination to the iust, and he that is vpright in his way, is abomination to the wicked.
