1. എന്റെ പ്രിയേ, നീ സുന്ദരി; നീ സുന്ദരി തന്നേ. നിന്റെ മൂടുപടത്തിന് നടുവെ നിന്റെ കണ്ണു പ്രാവിന് കണ്ണുപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ തലമുടി ഗിലെയാദ് മലഞ്ചെരിവില് കിടക്കുന്ന കോലാട്ടിന് കൂട്ടം പോലെയാകുന്നു.

1. 'How beautiful you are, my darling, How beautiful you are! Your eyes are [like] doves behind your veil; Your hair is like a flock of goats That have descended from Mount Gilead.

2. നിന്റെ പല്ലു, രോമം കത്രിച്ചിട്ടു കുളിച്ചു കയറിവരുന്ന ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവയില് ഒന്നും മച്ചിയായിരിക്കാതെ എല്ലാം ഇരട്ടപ്രസവിക്കുന്നു.

2. 'Your teeth are like a flock of [newly] shorn ewes Which have come up from [their] washing, All of which bear twins, And not one among them has lost her young.

3. നിന്റെ അധരം കടുംചുവപ്പുനൂല്പോലെയും നിന്റെ വായ് മനോഹരവും ആകുന്നു; നിന്റെ ചെന്നികള് നിന്റെ മൂടുപടത്തിന് ഉള്ളില് മാതളപ്പഴത്തിന് ഖണ്ഡംപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

3. 'Your lips are like a scarlet thread, And your mouth is lovely. Your temples are like a slice of a pomegranate Behind your veil.

4. നിന്റെ കഴുത്തു ആയുധശാലയായി പണിതിരിക്കുന്ന ദാവീദിന് ഗോപുരത്തോടു ഒക്കും; അതില് ആയിരം പരിച തൂക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ ഒക്കെയും വീരന്മാരുടെ പരിച തന്നേ.

4. 'Your neck is like the tower of David, Built with rows of stones On which are hung a thousand shields, All the round shields of the mighty men.

5. നിന്റെ സ്തനം രണ്ടും താമരെക്കിടയില് മേയുന്ന ഇരട്ട പിറന്ന രണ്ടു മാന് കുട്ടികള്ക്കു സമം.

5. 'Your two breasts are like two fawns, Twins of a gazelle Which feed among the lilies.

6. വെയലാറി നിഴല് കാണാതെയാകുവോളം ഞാന് മൂറിന് മലയിലും കുന്തുരുക്കക്കുന്നിലും ചെന്നിരിക്കാം.

6. 'Until the cool of the day When the shadows flee away, I will go my way to the mountain of myrrh And to the hill of frankincense.

7. എന്റെ പ്രിയേ, നീ സര്വ്വാംഗസുന്ദരി; നിന്നില് യാതൊരു ഊനവും ഇല്ല.

7. 'You are altogether beautiful, my darling, And there is no blemish in you.

8. കാന്തേ ലെബാനോനെ വിട്ടു എന്നോടുകൂടെ, ലെബാനോനെ വിട്ടു എന്നോടുകൂടെ വരിക; അമാനാമുകളും ശെനീര് ഹെര്മ്മോന് കൊടുമുടികളും സിംഹങ്ങളുടെ ഗുഹകളും പുള്ളിപ്പുലികളുടെ പര്വ്വതങ്ങളും വിട്ടുപോരിക.

8. '[Come] with me from Lebanon, [my] bride, May you come with me from Lebanon. Journey down from the summit of Amana, From the summit of Senir and Hermon, From the dens of lions, From the mountains of leopards.

9. എന്റെ സഹോദരി എന്റെ കാന്തേ. നീ എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ അപഹരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഒരു നോട്ടംകൊണ്ടും കഴുത്തിലെ മാലകൊണ്ടും നീ എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ അപഹരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. എന്റെ സഹോദരീ, എന്റെ കാന്തേ, നിന്റെ പ്രേമം എത്ര മനോഹരം! വീഞ്ഞിനെക്കാള് നിന്റെ പ്രേമവും സകലവിധ സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗത്തെക്കാള് നിന്റെ തൈലത്തിന്റെ പരിമളവും എത്ര രസകരം!

10. 'How beautiful is your love, my sister, [my] bride! How much better is your love than wine, And the fragrance of your oils Than all [kinds] of spices!

11. അല്ലയോ കാന്തേ, നിന്റെ അധരം തേന് കട്ട പൊഴിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ നാവിന് കീഴില് തേനും പാലും ഉണ്ടു; നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ വാസന ലെബാനോന്റെ വാസനപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

11. 'Your lips, [my] bride, drip honey; Honey and milk are under your tongue, And the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.

12. എന്റെ സഹോദരി, എന്റെ കാന്ത കെട്ടി അടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു തോട്ടം, അടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു നീരുറവു, മുദ്രയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കിണറു.

12. 'A garden locked is my sister, [my] bride, A rock garden locked, a spring sealed up.

13. നിന്റെ ചിനെപ്പുകള് വിശിഷ്ടഫലങ്ങളോടു കൂടിയ മാതളത്തോട്ടം; മയിലാഞ്ചിയോടുകൂടെ ജടാമാംസിയും,

13. 'Your shoots are an orchard of pomegranates With choice fruits, henna with nard plants,

14. ജടാമാംസിയും കുങ്കുമവും, വയമ്പും ലവംഗവും, സകലവിധ കുന്തുരുക്കവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും, മൂറും അകിലും സകലപ്രധാന സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗവും തന്നേ.

14. Nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, With all the trees of frankincense, Myrrh and aloes, along with all the finest spices.

15. നീ തോട്ടങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരു നീരുറവും, വറ്റിപ്പോകാത്ത കിണറും ലെബാനോനില്നിന്നു ഒഴുകുന്ന ഒഴുക്കുകളും തന്നേ.

15. '[You are] a garden spring, A well of fresh water, And streams [flowing] from Lebanon.'

16. വടതിക്കാറ്റേ ഉണരുക; തെന്നിക്കാറ്റേ വരിക; എന്റെ തോട്ടത്തില്നിന്നു സുഗന്ധം വീശേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിന്മേല് ഊതുക; എന്റെ പ്രിയന് തന്റെ തോട്ടത്തില് വന്നു അതിനെ വിശിഷ്ടഫലം ഭുജിക്കട്ടെ.

16. 'Awake, O north [wind], And come, [wind of] the south; Make my garden breathe out [fragrance], Let its spices be wafted abroad. May my beloved come into his garden And eat its choice fruits!'
