1. സമുദ്രതീരത്തെ മരുഭൂമിയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകംതെക്കു ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റു അടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, അതു മരുഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു ഭയങ്കരദേശത്തുനിന്നു തന്നേ വരുന്നു!

1. The burden of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the South sweep through, it comes from the wilderness, from an awesome land.

3. Therefore are my loins filled with anguish; pangs have taken hold on me, as the pangs of a woman in travail: I am pained so that I can't hear; I am dismayed so that I can't see.

6. For thus has the Lord said to me, Go, set a watchman: let him declare what he sees:

7. ഈരണ്ടീരണ്ടായി വരുന്ന കുതിരപ്പടയെയും കഴുതപ്പടയെയും ഒട്ടകപ്പടയെയും കാണുമ്പോള് അവന് ബഹുശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

7. and when he sees a troop, horsemen in pairs, a troop of donkeys, a troop of camels, he shall listen diligently with much heed.

8. അവന് ഒരു സിംഹംപോലെ അലറികര്ത്താവേ, ഞാന് പകല് ഇടവിടാതെ കാവല്നിലക്കുന്നു; രാത്രി മുഴുവനും ഞാന് കാവല് കാത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

8. He cried as a lion: Lord, I stand continually on the watch-tower in the day-time, and am set in my ward whole nights;

10. You my threshing, and the grain of my floor! that which I have heard from Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared to you.

11. The burden of Dumah. One calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?

12. അതിന്നു കാവല്ക്കാരന് പ്രഭാതവും രാത്രിയും വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ചോദിക്കേണമെങ്കില് ചോദിച്ചു കൊള്വിന് ; പോയി വരുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. The watchman said, 'The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire . Come back again.'

13. അറബിദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകംദേദാന്യരുടെ സാര്ത്ഥഗണങ്ങളായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങള് അറബിയിലെ കാട്ടില് രാപാര്പ്പിന് .

13. The burden on Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall you lodge, you caravans of Dedanites.

15. അവര് വാളിനെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞു ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നവരാകുന്നു; ഊരിയ വാളിനെയും കുലെച്ച വില്ലിനെയും യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ കൊടുമയെയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞു ഔടുന്നവര് തന്നേ.

15. For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the heat of battle.

16. കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തുകൂലിക്കാരന്റെ ആണ്ടുപോലെയുള്ള ഒരു ആണ്ടിന്നകം കേദാരിന്റെ മഹത്വം ഒക്കെയും ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും;

16. For thus has the Lord said to me, Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, all the glory of Kedar shall fail;

17. കേദാര്യ്യരില് വീരന്മാരായ വില്ലാളികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ശേഷിക്കുന്നവര് ചുരുക്കമായിരിക്കും; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയല്ലോ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.

17. and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be few; for Yahweh, the God of Israel, has spoken it.
