1. ദര്ശനത്താഴ്വരയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകംനിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും വീടുകളുടെ മുകളില് കയറേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു ഭവിച്ചു?

1. The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?

2. അയ്യോ, കോലാഹലം നിറഞ്ഞും ആരവപൂര്ണ്ണമായും ഇരിക്കുന്ന പട്ടണമേ! ഉല്ലസിതനഗരമേ! നിന്റെ ഹതന്മാര് വാളാല് കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടവരല്ല, പടയില് പട്ടുപോയവരും അല്ല.

2. Thou that wast full of stir, a town of tumult, a joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.

3. നിന്റെ അധിപതിമാര് എല്ലാവരും ഒരുപോലെ ഔടിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് വില്ലില്ലാത്തവരായി ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്നില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നവരൊക്കെയും ദൂരത്തു ഔടിപ്പോയിട്ടും ഒരുപോലെ ബദ്ധരായിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. All thy rulers have fled together, they are taken prisoners without the bow: all that are found of thee are made prisoners together; they were fleeing far off.

4. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്നെ നോക്കരുതു; ഞാന് കൈപ്പോടെ കരയട്ടെ; എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നാശത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി എന്നെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിപ്പാന് ബദ്ധപ്പെടരുതു.

4. Therefore said I, Look away from me; let me weep bitterly: labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.

5. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിങ്കല്നിന്നു ദര്ശനത്താഴ്വരയില് പരാഭവവും സംഹാരവും പരിഭ്രമവുമുള്ളോരു നാള് വരുന്നു; മതിലുകളെ ഇടിച്ചുകളയുന്നതും മലകളോടു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നതും ആയ നാള് തന്നേ.

5. For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, in the valley of vision; [a day of] breaking down the wall, and of crying to the mountain:

6. ഏലാം, കാലാളും കുതിരപ്പടയും ഉള്ള സൈന്യത്തോടുകൂടെ ആവനാഴിക എടുക്കയും കീര്പരിചയുടെ ഉറനീക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

6. -- Elam beareth the quiver with chariots of men [and] horsemen; and Kir uncovereth the shield.

7. അങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ മനോഹരമായ താഴ്വരകള് രഥങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടു നിറയും; കുതിരപ്പട വാതില്ക്കല് അണിനിരത്തും.

7. And it shall come to pass [that] thy choicest valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.

8. അവന് യെഹൂദയുടെ മൂടുപടം നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അന്നു നിങ്ങള് വനഗൃഹത്തിലെ ആയുധവര്ഗ്ഗത്തെ നോക്കി,

8. And he uncovereth the covering of Judah: and thou didst look in that day to the armour in the house of the forest;

9. ദാവീദിന് നഗരത്തിന്റെ ഇടിവുകള് അനവധിയെന്നു കണ്ടു; താഴത്തെ കുളത്തിലെ വെള്ളം കെട്ടി നിര്ത്തി,

9. and ye have seen the breaches of the city of David, that they are many; and ye have gathered together the waters of the lower pool;

10. യെരൂശലേമിലെ വീടുകള് എണ്ണി, മതില് ഉറപ്പിപ്പാന് വീടുകളെ പൊളിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

10. and ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and have broken down the houses to fortify the wall;

11. പഴയ കുളത്തിലെ വെള്ളം സൂക്ഷിപ്പാന് രണ്ടു മതിലുകളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു ജലാശയം ഉണ്ടാക്കി; എങ്കിലും അതു വരുത്തിയവങ്കലേക്കു നിങ്ങള് തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല, പണ്ടു പണ്ടേ അതു നിരൂപിച്ചവനെ ഔര്ത്തതുമില്ല.

11. and ye have made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not had regard unto the maker thereof, neither have ye looked unto him that fashioned it long ago.

12. അന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു കരച്ചലിന്നും വിലാപത്തിന്നും മൊട്ടയടിക്കുന്നതിന്നും

12. And in that day did the Lord Jehovah of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth;

13. രട്ടുടുക്കുന്നതിന്നും വിളിച്ചപ്പോള് ആനന്ദവും സന്തോഷവും കാള അറുക്കുക, ആടറുക്കുക, ഇറച്ചിതിന്നുക, വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്ക! നാം തിന്നുക, കുടിക്ക; നാളെ മരിക്കുമല്ലോ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ആയിരുന്നു.

13. and behold joy and rejoicing, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: -- Let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die.

14. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്നതുനിങ്ങള് മരിക്കുംവരെ ഈ അകൃത്യം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മോചിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ല എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

14. And it was revealed in mine ears by Jehovah of hosts: Assuredly this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

15. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം കല്പിക്കുന്നുനീ ചെന്നു ഭണ്ഡാരപതിയും രാജധാനിവിചാരകനുമായ ശെബ്നെയെ കണ്ടു പറയേണ്ടതു;

15. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah of hosts: Go, get thee in unto this steward, unto Shebna, who is over the house, [and say,]

16. നീ എന്താകന്നു ഈ ചെയ്യുന്നതു? നിനക്കു ഇവിടെ ആരുള്ളു? ഇവിടെ നീ കല്ലറ വെട്ടിക്കുന്നതു ആക്കായിട്ടു? ഉയര്ന്നോരു സ്ഥലത്തു അവന് തനിക്കു ഒരു കല്ലറ വെട്ടിക്കുന്നു; പാറയില് തനിക്കു ഒരു പാര്പ്പിടം കൊത്തിയുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.

16. What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewn thee out a sepulchre here, [as] he that heweth out his sepulchre on high, cutting out in the rock a habitation for himself?

17. എടോ, നിന്നെ യഹോവ തൂക്കിയെടുത്തു ചുഴറ്റി എറിഞ്ഞുകളയും.

17. Behold, Jehovah will hurl thee with the force of a mighty man, and will cover thee entirely.

18. അവന് നിന്നെ ഒരു പന്തുപോലെ വിശാലമായോരു ദേശത്തിലേക്കു ഉരുട്ടിക്കളയും; നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ ലജ്ജയായുള്ളോവേ, അവിടെ നീ മരിക്കും; നിന്റെ മഹത്വമുള്ള രഥങ്ങളും അവിടെയാകും.

18. Rolling thee up completely, he will roll thee as a ball into a wide country: there shalt thou die, and there shall be the chariots of thy glory, O shame of thy lord's house!

19. ഞാന് നിന്നെ നിന്റെ ഉദ്യോഗത്തില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും; നിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തുനിന്നു അവന് നിന്നെ പറിച്ചുകളയും.

19. And I will drive thee from thine office, and from thy station will I pull thee down.

20. അന്നാളില് ഞാന് ഹില്ക്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായി എന്റെ ദാസനായ എല്യാക്കീമിനെ വിളിക്കും.

20. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkijah;

21. അവനെ ഞാന് നിന്റെ അങ്കി ധരിപ്പിക്കും; നിന്റെ കച്ചകൊണ്ടു അവനെ അര കെട്ടും; നിന്റെ അധികാരം ഞാന് അവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് യെരൂശലേം നിവാസികള്ക്കും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തിന്നും ഒരു അപ്പനായിരിക്കും.

21. and I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

22. ഞാന് ദാവീദ് ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ താക്കോല് അവന്റെ തോളില് വേക്കും; അവന് തുറന്നാല് ആരും അടെക്കുകയില്ല; അവന് അടെച്ചാല് ആരും തുറക്കുകയുമില്ല.

22. And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; and he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

23. ഉറപ്പുള്ള സ്ഥലത്തു ഒരു ആണിപോലെ ഞാന് അവനെ തറെക്കും; അവന് തന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്നു മഹത്വമുള്ളോരു സിംഹാസനം ആയിരിക്കും.

23. And I will fasten him [as] a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a throne of glory to his father's house:

24. അവര് അവന്റെമേല് അവന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്റെ സകലമഹത്വത്തെയും സന്തതിയെയും പ്രജയെയും കിണ്ണംമുതല് തുരുത്തിവരെയുള്ള സകലവിധ ചെറു പാത്രങ്ങളെയും തൂക്കിയിടും.

24. and they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all the small vessels, as well the vessels of cups as all the vessels of flagons.

25. അന്നാളില് ഉറപ്പുള്ള സ്ഥലത്തു തറെച്ചിരുന്ന ആണി ഇളകിപ്പോകും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; അതു മുറിഞ്ഞുവീഴുകയും അതിന്മേലുള്ള ഭാരം തകര്ന്നുപോകയും ചെയ്യും; യഹോവയല്ലോ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.

25. In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in a sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for Jehovah hath spoken.
