1. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നും യെഹൂദയില്നിന്നും ആധാരവും ആശ്രയവും, അപ്പം എന്ന ആധാരമൊക്കെയും വെള്ളം എന്ന ആധാരമൊക്കെയും

1. See now, the Lord, the LORD Almighty, is about to take from Jerusalem and Judah both supply and support: all supplies of food and all supplies of water,

2. വീരന് , യോദ്ധാവു, ന്യായാധിപതി, പ്രവാചകന് , പ്രശ്നക്കാരന് , മൂപ്പന് ,

2. the hero and warrior, the judge and prophet, the soothsayer and elder,

3. അമ്പതുപേര്ക്കും അധിപതി, മാന്യന് , മന്ത്രി, കൌശലപ്പണിക്കാരന് , മന്ത്രവാദി എന്നിവരെയും നീക്കിക്കളയും.

3. the captain of fifty and man of rank, the counselor, skilled craftsman and clever enchanter.

4. ഞാന് ബാലന്മാരെ അവര്ക്കും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരാക്കി വേക്കും; ശിശുക്കള് അവരെ വാഴും.

4. I will make boys their officials; mere children will govern them.

5. ഒരുത്തന് മറ്റൊരുവനെയും ഒരാള് തന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെയും ഇങ്ങനെ ജനം അന്യോന്യം പീഡിപ്പിക്കും; ബാലന് വൃദ്ധനോടും നീചന് മാന്യനോടും കയര്ക്കും.

5. People will oppress each other-- man against man, neighbor against neighbor. The young will rise up against the old, the base against the honorable.

6. ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിലെ സഹോദരനെ പിടിച്ചുനിനക്കു മേലങ്കിയുണ്ടു; നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അധിപതി ആയിരിക്ക; ഈ ശൂന്യ ശിഷ്ടം നിന്റെ കൈവശം ഇരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറയും.

6. A man will seize one of his brothers at his father's home, and say, 'You have a cloak, you be our leader; take charge of this heap of ruins!'

7. അവന് അന്നു കൈ ഉയര്ത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുവൈദ്യനായിരിപ്പാന് എനിക്കു മനസ്സില്ല; എന്റെ വീട്ടില് ആഹാരവുമില്ല, വസ്ത്രവുമില്ല; എന്നെ ജനത്തിന്നു അധിപതിയാക്കരുതു എന്നു പറയും.

7. But in that day he will cry out, 'I have no remedy. I have no food or clothing in my house; do not make me the leader of the people.'

8. യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സുള്ള കണ്ണിന്നു വെറുപ്പുതോന്നുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ നാവുകളും പ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന്നു വിരോധമായിരിക്കയാല് യെരൂശലേം ഇടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; യെഹൂദാ വീണുപോകും.

8. Jerusalem staggers, Judah is falling; their words and deeds are against the LORD, defying his glorious presence.

9. അവരുടെ മുഖഭാവം അവര്ക്കും വിരോധമായി സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് സൊദോംപോലെ തങ്ങളുടെ പാപത്തെ പരസ്യമാക്കുന്നു; അതിനെ മറെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; അവര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അവര് തങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നേ ദോഷം വരുത്തുന്നു.

9. The look on their faces testifies against them; they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves.

10. നീതിമാനെക്കുറിച്ചുഅവന്നു നന്മവരും എന്നു പറവിന് ; തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ഫലം അവര് അനുഭവിക്കും.

10. Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.

11. ദുഷ്ടന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അവന്നു ദോഷം വരും; അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ഫലം അവനും അനുഭവിക്കും.

11. Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them! They will be paid back for what their hands have done.

12. എന്റെ ജനമോ, കുട്ടികള് അവരെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; സ്ത്രീകള് അവരെ വാഴുന്നു; എന്റെ ജനമേ, നിന്നെ നടത്തുന്നവര് നിന്നെ വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുന്നു; നീ നടക്കേണ്ടുന്ന വഴി അവര് നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

12. Youths oppress my people, women rule over them. O my people, your guides lead you astray; they turn you from the path.

13. യഹോവ വ്യവഹരിപ്പാന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു വംശങ്ങളെ വിധിപ്പാന് നിലക്കുന്നു.

13. The LORD takes his place in court; he rises to judge the people.

14. യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരോടും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തില് പ്രവേശിക്കും; നിങ്ങള് മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു; എളിയവരോടു കവര്ന്നെടുത്തതു നിങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളില് ഉണ്ടു;

14. The LORD enters into judgment against the elders and leaders of his people: 'It is you who have ruined my vineyard; the plunder from the poor is in your houses.

15. എന്റെ ജനത്തെ തകര്ത്തുകളവാനും എളിയവരെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിപ്പാനും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു കാര്യം എന്നും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

15. What do you mean by crushing my people and grinding the faces of the poor?' declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty.

16. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്സീയോന് പുത്രിമാര് നിഗളിച്ചു കഴുത്തു നീട്ടിയും എറികണ്ണിട്ടുംകൊണ്ടു സഞ്ചരിക്കയും തത്തിത്തത്തി നടക്കയും കാല്കൊണ്ടു ചിലമ്പൊലി കേള്പ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

16. The LORD says, 'The women of Zion are haughty, walking along with outstretched necks, flirting with their eyes, tripping along with mincing steps, with ornaments jingling on their ankles.

17. ഇതുനിമിത്തം യഹോവ സീയോന് പുത്രിമാരുടെ നെറുകെക്കു ചൊറി പിടിപ്പിക്കും; യഹോവ അവരുടെ ഗുഹ്യപ്രദേശങ്ങളെ നഗ്നമാക്കും.

17. Therefore the Lord will bring sores on the heads of the women of Zion; the LORD will make their scalps bald.'

18. അന്നു കര്ത്താവു അവരുടെ കാല്ച്ചിലമ്പുകളുടെ അലങ്കാരം,

18. In that day the Lord will snatch away their finery: the bangles and headbands and crescent necklaces,

19. അവരുടെ നെറ്റിപ്പട്ടം, ചന്ദ്രക്കല, കാതില, കടകം, കവണി,

19. the earrings and bracelets and veils,

20. തലപ്പാവു, കാല്ത്തള, പട്ടുകച്ച, പരിമളപ്പെട്ടി,

20. the headdresses and ankle chains and sashes, the perfume bottles and charms,

21. , 22 തകിട്ടുകൂടു, മോതിരം, മൂകൂത്തി, ഉത്സവ വസ്ത്രം, മേലാട, ശാല്വാ, ചെറുസഞ്ചി, ദര്പ്പണം, ക്ഷോമപടം,

21. the signet rings and nose rings,

22. കല്ലാവു, മൂടുപടം എന്നിവ നീക്കിക്കളയും.

22. the fine robes and the capes and cloaks, the purses

23. അപ്പോള് സുഗന്ധത്തിന്നു പകരം ദുര്ഗ്ഗന്ധവും അരക്കച്ചെക്കു പകരം കയറും പുരികുഴലിന്നു പകരം കഷണ്ടിയും ഉടയാടെക്കു പകരം രട്ടും സൌന്ദര്യത്തിന്നു പകരം കരിവാളിപ്പും ഉണ്ടാകും.

23. and mirrors, and the linen garments and tiaras and shawls.

24. നിന്റെ പുരുഷന്മാര് വാളിനാലും നിന്റെ വീരന്മാര് യുദ്ധത്തിലും വീഴും.

24. Instead of fragrance there will be a stench; instead of a sash, a rope; instead of well-dressed hair, baldness; instead of fine clothing, sackcloth; instead of beauty, branding.

25. അതിന്റെ വാതിലുകള് വിലപിച്ചു ദുഃഖിക്കും; അതു ശൂന്യമായി നിലത്തു കിടക്കും.

25. Your men will fall by the sword, your warriors in battle.
