1. യഹോവ എന്നോടുനീ ചെന്നു, ഒരു ചണനൂല്ക്കച്ച വാങ്ങി നിന്റെ അരെക്കു കെട്ടുക; അതിനെ വെള്ളത്തില് ഇടരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

1. Righteous {art} thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me speak with thee of {thy} judgments: Why doth the way of the wicked prosper? {why} are they all happy that deal very treacherously?

2. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം ഒരു കച്ച വാങ്ങി അരെക്കു കെട്ടി.

2. Thou hast planted them, yes, they have taken root: they grow, yes, they bring forth fruit: thou {art} near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

3. But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried my heart towards thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

4. നീ വാങ്ങി അരെക്കു കെട്ടിയ കച്ച എടുത്തു പറുപ്പെട്ടു ഫ്രാത്തിന്നരികത്തു ചെന്നു, അവിടെ ഒരു പാറയുടെ വിള്ളലില് ഒളിച്ചു വെക്കുക.

4. How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He will not see our last end.

5. യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു പോലെ ഞാന് ചെന്നു അതു ഫ്രാത്തിന്നരികെ ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു.

5. If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and {if} in the land of peace, {in which} thou hast trusted, {they wearied thee}, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

6. ഏറിയ നാള് കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം യഹോവ എന്നോടുനീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഫ്രാത്തിന്നരികെ ചെന്നു, അവിടെ ഒളിച്ചുവെപ്പാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ച കച്ച എടുത്തുകൊള്ക എന്നരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

6. For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yes, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words to thee.

7. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് ഫ്രാത്തിന്നരികെ ചെന്നു, ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചിരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നിന്നു കച്ച മാന്തി എടുത്തു; എന്നാല് കച്ച കേടുപിടിച്ചു ഒന്നിന്നും കൊള്ളരുതാതെ ആയിരുന്നു.

7. I have forsaken my house, I have left my heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

8. യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

8. My heritage is to me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.

9. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഇങ്ങനെ ഞാന് യെഹൂദയുടെ ഗര്വ്വവും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മഹാഗര്വ്വവും കെടുത്തുകളയും.

9. My heritage {is} to me {as} a speckled bird, the birds around {are} against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.

10. എന്റെ വചനം കേള്പ്പാന് മനസ്സില്ലാതെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യംപോലെ നടക്കയും അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരോടു ചേരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ദുഷ്ടജനം ഒന്നിന്നും കൊള്ളരുതാത്ത ഈ കച്ചപോലെ ആയിത്തീരും.

10. Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

11. കച്ച ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ അരയോടു പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാന് യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തെ മുഴുവനും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തെ മുഴുവനും എനിക്കു ജനവും കീര്ത്തിയും പ്രശംസയും അലങ്കാരവും ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നോടു പറ്റിയിരിക്കുമാറാക്കി; അവര്ക്കോ അനുസരിപ്പാന് മനസ്സായില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11. They have made it desolate, {and being} desolate it mourneth to me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth {it} to heart.

12. അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതുഎല്ലാതുരുത്തിയിലും വീഞ്ഞു നിറയും എന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; എല്ലാതുരുത്തിയിലും വീഞ്ഞു നിറയും എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു അവര് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും.

12. The spoilers have come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the {one} end of the land even to the other {end} of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

13. അതിന്നു നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതുയഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഈ ദേശത്തിലെ സര്വ്വനിവാസികളെയും ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില് ഇരിക്കുന്ന രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും പൂരോഹിതന്മാരെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും യെരൂശലേമിലെ സര്വ്വനിവാസികളെയും ഞാന് ലഹരികൊണ്ടു നിറെക്കും.

13. They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, {but} shall not profit; and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

14. ഞാന് അവരെ അന്യോന്യവും പിതാക്കന്മാരെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും തമ്മിലും മുട്ടി നശിക്കുമാറാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കയല്ലാതെ ഞാന് അവരോടു കനിവോ ക്ഷമയോ കരുണയോ കാണിക്കയില്ല.

14. Thus saith the LORD against all my evil neighbors, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

15. നിങ്ങള് കേള്പ്പിന് , ചെവിതരുവിന് ; ഗര്വ്വിക്കരുതു; യഹോവയല്ലോ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

15. And it shall come to pass, after I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

16. ഇരുട്ടാകുന്നതിന്നും നിങ്ങളുടെ കാല് അന്ധകാരപര്വ്വതങ്ങളില് ഇടറിപ്പോകുന്നതിന്നും മുമ്പെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു ബഹുമാനം കൊടുപ്പിന് ; അല്ലെങ്കില് നിങ്ങള് പ്രകാശത്തിന്നു കാത്തിരിക്കെ അവന് അന്ധതമസ്സും കൂരിരുട്ടും വരുത്തും.

16. And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.

17. നിങ്ങള് കേട്ടനുസരിക്കയില്ലെങ്കില് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഗര്വ്വം നിമിത്തം രഹസ്യത്തില് കരയും; യഹോവയുടെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെ പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയിരിക്കയാല് ഞാന് ഏറ്റവും കരഞ്ഞു കണ്ണുനീരൊഴുക്കും.

17. But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.
