1. അമ്മോന്യരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുയിസ്രായേലിന്നു പുത്രന്മാരില്ലയോ? അവന്നു അവകാശിയില്ലയോ? പിന്നെ മല്ക്കോം ഗാദിനെ കൈവശമാക്കി, അവന്റെ ജനം അതിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നതെന്തു?

1. CONCERNING MOAB: Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe to [the city of] Nebo, for it is laid waste! Kiriathaim is put to shame and taken; Misgab [the high fortress] is put to shame, broken down, and crushed. [Isa. 15-16; 25:10-12; Ezek. 25:8-11; Amos 2:1-3; Zeph. 2:8-11.]

2. ആകയാല് ഞാന് അമ്മോന്യരുടെ രബ്ബയില് യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ആര്പ്പുവിളി കേള്പ്പിക്കുന്ന കാലം വരുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; അന്നു അതു ശൂന്യമായി കലക്കുന്നാകും; അതിന്റെ പുത്രീനഗരങ്ങളും തീ പിടിച്ചു വെന്തുപോകും; യിസ്രായേല് തന്നേ കൈവശമാക്കിയവരെ കൈവശമാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

2. The glory of Moab is no more; in Heshbon [a border town between Reuben and Gad, east of the Jordan River] they planned evil against her, saying, Come, let us cut her off from being a nation. You also, O [town of] Madmen, shall be brought to silence; the sword shall pursue you.

3. ഹെശ്ബോനേ, മുറയിടുക; ഹായി ശൂന്യമായ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; രബ്ബയുടെ പുത്രീനഗരങ്ങളേ, നിലവിളിപ്പിന് ; രട്ടുടുത്തുകൊള്വിന് ; വിലപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വേലികള്ക്കരികെ ഉഴന്നുനടപ്പിന് ! മല്ക്കോമും അവന്റെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും എല്ലാം പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകും.

3. The sound of a cry from Horonaim, [a cry of] desolation and great destruction!

4. ആര് എന്റെ നേരെ വരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളില് ആശ്രയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വിശ്വാസത്യാഗിനിയായ പുത്രീ, താഴ്വരകളില് നീ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്നു? നിന്റെ താഴ്വരകള് ഒഴുകിപ്പോകുന്നു.

4. Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard [as far as Zoar].

5. ഇതാ നിന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള എല്ലാവരാലും ഞാന് നിനക്കു ഭയം വരുത്തും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു നിങ്ങള് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ചൊവ്വിന്നു ചിതറിപ്പോകും; ഉഴന്നുനടക്കുന്നവരെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്പ്പാന് ആരും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല.

5. For the ascent of Luhith will be climbed [by successive bands of fugitives] with continual weeping; for on the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.

6. എന്നാല് ഒടുക്കം ഞാന് അമ്മോന്യരുടെ പ്രവാസം മാറ്റും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

6. Flee! Save your lives! But they shall be like a destitute and forsaken person in the wilderness.

7. എദോമിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുതേമാനില് ഇനി ജ്ഞാനമില്ലയോ? ആലോചന വിവേകികളെ വിട്ടു നശിച്ചുപോയോ? അവരുടെ ജ്ഞാനം ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോയോ?

7. For because you have trusted in your works [your bungling idol images] and in your treasures [instead of in God], you shall also be taken. And Chemosh [your god] shall go into captivity, his priests and his princes together.

8. ദെദാന് നിവാസികളേ, ഔടിപ്പോകുവിന് ; പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞു കുഴികളില് പാര്ത്തുകൊള്വിന് ; ഞാന് ഏശാവിന്റെ ആപത്തു, അവന്റെ ദര്ശനകാലം തന്നേ, അവന്നു വരുത്തും.

8. And the destroyer shall come upon every city; no city shall escape. The [Jordan] valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be devastated, as the Lord has said.

9. മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിക്കുന്നവര് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നാല് കാലാ പറിപ്പാന് ചിലതു ശേഷിപ്പിക്കയില്ലയോ? രാത്രിയില് കള്ളന്മാര് വന്നാല് തങ്ങള്ക്കു മതിയാകുവോളം മാത്രമല്ലോ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു?

9. Give wings to Moab, for [by that means only] she will flee and get away; her cities will be desolate, without any to dwell in them.

10. എന്നാല് ഏശാവിനെ ഞാന് നഗ്നമാക്കി അവന്റെ ഗൂഢസ്ഥലങ്ങളെ അനാവൃതമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്വാന് കഴികയില്ല; അവന്റെ സന്തതിയും സഹോദരന്മാരും അയല്ക്കാരും നശിച്ചുപോയി; അവനും ഇല്ലാതെ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. Cursed be he who does the work of the Lord negligently [with slackness, deceitfully]; and cursed be he who keeps back his sword from blood [in executing judgment pronounced by the Lord].

11. നിന്റെ അനാഥന്മാരെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്ക; ഞാന് അവരെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കും; നിന്റെ വിധവമാര് എന്നില് ആശ്രയിക്കട്ടെ.

11. Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his lees [like wine] and has not been drawn off from one vessel to another, neither has he gone into exile. Therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent has not changed.

12. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുപാനപാത്രം കുടിപ്പാന് അര്ഹതയില്ലാത്തവര് കുടിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു; പിന്നെ നിനക്കു ശിക്ഷ വരാതെ പോകുമോ? നിനക്കു ശിക്ഷ വരാതെ പോകയില്ല; നീയും കുടിക്കേണ്ടിവരും.

12. Therefore behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I shall send to [Moab] tilters who shall tilt him up and shall empty his vessels and break his bottles (earthenware) in pieces.

13. ബൊസ്രാ സ്തംഭനവും നിന്ദയും ശൂന്യവും ശാപവുമായി ഭവിക്കും; അതിന്റെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളും നിത്യശൂന്യങ്ങളായ്തീരും എന്നു ഞാന് എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

13. And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh [his god], as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence. [I Kings 12:28, 29.]

14. നിങ്ങള് ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി അതിന്റെ നേരെ ചെല്ലുവിന് ; യുദ്ധത്തിന്നായി എഴുന്നേല്പിന് ! എന്നിങ്ങനെ വിളിച്ചുപറവാന് ഒരു ദൂതനെ ജാതികളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നൊരു വര്ത്തമാനം ഞാന് യഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നു കേട്ടു.

14. How can you say, We are heroes and mighty men in the war?

15. ഞാന് നിന്നെ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ചെറിയവനും മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയില് നിന്ദിതനും ആക്കും.

15. Moab has been made desolate, and his cities have gone up [in smoke and flame]; and his chosen young men have gone down to the slaughter, says the King, Whose name is the Lord of hosts.

16. പാറപ്പിളര്പ്പുകളില് പാര്ത്തു കുന്നുകളുടെ മുകള് പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവനേ, നിന്റെ ഭയങ്കരത്വം വിചാരിച്ചാല് നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ അഹങ്കാരം നിന്നെ ചതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ കഴുകനെപ്പോലെ നിന്റെ കൂടു ഉയരത്തില് വെച്ചാലും അവിടെനിന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നെ താഴെ ഇറങ്ങുമാറാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

16. The destruction of Moab is coming near, and his calamity hastens swiftly.

17. എദോം സ്തംഭനവിഷയമായ്തീരും; അതിന്നരികത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവരും സ്തംഭിച്ചു അതിന്റെ സകലബാധകളും നിമിത്തം ചൂളകുത്തും.

17. Bemoan him, all you [nations] who are around him, and all you [nations more remote] who know his name; say, How broken is the mighty scepter [of national power] and the splendid rod [of glory]!

18. സൊദോമിന്റെയും ഗൊമോരയുടെയും അവയുടെ അയല്പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെയും ഉന്മൂലനാശശേഷം എന്നപോലെ അവിടെയും ആരും പാര്ക്കയില്ല; ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും അവിടെ വസിക്കയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

18. Come down from your glory, you inhabitant of the Daughter of Dibon, and sit on the ground among the thirsty! For the destroyer of Moab is advancing against you; he will destroy your strongholds.

19. യോര്ദ്ദാന്റെ വന് കാട്ടില്നിന്നു ഒരു സിംഹം എന്നപോലെ അവന് എപ്പോഴും പച്ചയായിരിക്കുന്ന മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങളിലേക്കു കയറിവരുന്നു; ഞാന് അവരെ പെട്ടന്നു അതില്നിന്നു ഔടിച്ചുകളയും; ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന ഒരാളെ അതിന്നു നിയമിക്കും; എനിക്കു സമനായവന് ആര്? എനിക്കു നേരം കുറിക്കുന്നവന് ആര്? എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നില്ക്കാകുന്ന ഇടയന് ആര്?

19. O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way and watch! Ask him who flees and her who escapes, What has happened?

20. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ എദോമിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ആലോചിച്ച ആലോചനയും തേമാന് നിവാസികളെക്കുറിച്ചു നിരൂപിച്ച നിരൂപണങ്ങളും കേള്പ്പിന് ; ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തില് ചെറിയവരെ അവര് ഇഴെച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവന് അവരുടെ മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങളെ അവരോടുകൂടെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും.

20. Moab is put to shame, for she is broken down. Wail and cry out! Tell by [the banks of] the Arnon that Moab is laid waste (destroyed).

21. അവരുടെ വീഴ്ചയുടെ മുഴക്കത്തിങ്കല് ഭൂമി നടുങ്ങുന്നു; ഒരു നിലവിളി; അതിന്റെ ഒച്ച ചെങ്കടലില് കേള്ക്കുന്നു!

21. Judgment has come upon the land of the plain--upon Holon and Jahzah and Mephaath,

22. അവന് കഴുകനെപ്പോലെ പൊങ്ങി പറന്നു വന്നു ബൊസ്രയുടെമേല് ചിറകു വിടര്ക്കും; അന്നാളില് എദോമിലെ വീരന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയം നോവുകിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീയുടെ ഹൃദയം പോലെയാകും.

22. And upon Dibon and Nebo and Beth-diblathaim,

23. ദമ്മേശെക്കിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു. ഹമാത്തും അര്പ്പാദും ദോഷവര്ത്തമാനം കേട്ടതു കൊണ്ടു ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഉരുകിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; കടല്വരെ ദുഃഖം വ്യാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്നു അടങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാന് കഴിവില്ല.

23. And upon Kiriathaim and Beth-gamul and Beth-meon,

24. ദമ്മേശെക് ക്ഷീണിച്ചു ഔടിപ്പോകുവാന് തിരിയുന്നു; നടുക്കം അതിന്നു പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നോവു കിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീക്കു എന്നപോലെ അതിന്നു അതിവ്യസനവും വേദനയും പിടിപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

24. And upon Kerioth and Bozrah--and all the cities of the land of Moab, far and near.

25. കീര്ത്തിയുള്ള പട്ടണം എന്റെ ആനന്ദപുരം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

25. The horn (strength) of Moab is cut off, and his arm [of authority] is shattered, says the Lord.

26. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതിലെ യൌവനക്കാര് അതിന്റെ വീഥികളില് വീഴുകയും സകലയോദ്ധാക്കളും അന്നു നശിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

26. Make him drunk, for he has magnified himself against the Lord [by resisting Reuben's occupation of the land the Lord had assigned him]. Moab also shall splash in his vomit, and he too shall be held in derision. [Num. 22:1-7.]

27. ഞാന് ദമ്മേശെക്കിന്റെ മതിലുകള്ക്കു തീവേക്കും; അതു ബെന് -ഹദദിന്റെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

27. For was not Israel [an object of] derision to you? Was he found among thieves--since whenever you speak of him you wag your head [in scorn]?

28. ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് ജയിച്ചടക്കിയ കേദാരിനെയും ഹാസോര്രാജ്യങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് പുറപ്പെട്ടു കേദാരില് ചെന്നു കിഴക്കരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളവിന് .

28. O you inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities and dwell among the rocks, and be like the dove that makes her nest in the walls of the yawning ravine.

29. അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളെയും ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടങ്ങളെയും അവര് അപഹരിക്കും; അവരുടെ തിരശ്ശീലകളെയും സകലഉപകരണങ്ങളെയും ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെയും അവര് കൊണ്ടുപോകും; സര്വ്വത്രഭീതി എന്നു അവര് അവരോടു വിളിച്ചുപറയും.

29. We have heard of the [giddy] pride of Moab, the extremely proud one--his loftiness, his arrogance, his conceit, and the haughtiness of his heart.

30. ഹാസോര്നിവാസികളേ, ഔടിപ്പോകുവിന് ; അതിദൂരത്തു ചെന്നു കുഴിയില് പാര്ത്തുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒരു ആലേചന ആലോചിച്ചു ഒരു നിരൂപണം നിരൂപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

30. I know his insolent wrath, says the Lord, and the nothingness of his boastings and his deeds; they are false and have accomplished nothing.

31. വാതിലുകളും ഔടാമ്പലുകളും എല്ലാതെ തനിച്ചു പാര്ക്കുംന്നവരും സ്വൈരവും നിര്ഭയവുമായി വസിക്കുന്നവരുമായ ജാതിയുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറപ്പെട്ടു ചെല്ലുവിന് എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

31. Therefore I will wail over Moab, and I will cry out over the whole of Moab. Over the men of Kir-heres (Kir-hareseth) there will be sighing and mourning. [Isa. 15:1; 16:7, 11.]

32. അവരുടെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള് കവര്ച്ചയും അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലിക്കൂട്ടങ്ങള് കൊള്ളയും ആയിത്തീരും; തലയുടെ അരികു വടിച്ചുവരെ ഞാന് എല്ലാകാറ്റുകളിലേക്കും ചിന്നിച്ചുകളകയും നാലു പുറത്തുനിന്നും അവര്ക്കും ആപത്തു വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

32. O vines of Sibmah, I weep for you more than the weeping of Jazer [over its ruins and wasted vineyards]. Your tendrils [of influence] have gone over the sea, reaching even to Jazer. The destroyer has fallen upon your summer fruit harvest and your [season's] crop of grapes.

33. ഹാസോര് കുറുനരികളുടെ പാര്പ്പിടവും നിത്യശൂന്യവും ആയിത്തീരും; ആരും അവിടെ പാര്ക്കയില്ല; ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും അവിടെ വസിക്കയുമില്ല.

33. Joy and gladness are taken away from the fruitful orchards and fields and from the land of Moab. And I have made the juice [of the grape] to fail from what is pressed out in the vats; no one treads [the grapes] with shouting. Their shouting is no shouting [of joy, but is a battle cry].

34. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കല് ഏലാമിനെക്കുറിച്ചു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്തെന്നാല്

34. From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh even to Jahaz have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim and Eglath-shelishiyah [like a three-year-old heifer], for even the waters of Nimrim have become desolations.

35. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് ഏലാമിന്റെ മുഖ്യബലമായ അവരുടെ വില്ലു ഒടിച്ചുകളയും.

35. Moreover, I will cause to cease in Moab, says the Lord, the one who ascends and offers in the high place and the one who burns incense to his gods.

36. ഞാന് ഏലാമിന്റെ നേരെ ആകാശത്തിന്റെ നാലു ദിക്കില്നിന്നും നാലു കാറ്റുവരുത്തി ഈ എല്ലാകാറ്റുകളിലേക്കും അവരെ ചിന്നിച്ചുകളയും; ഏലാമിന്റെ ഭ്രഷ്ടന്മാര് ചെല്ലാത്ത ഒരു ജാതികയും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കയില്ല.

36. Therefore My heart moans and sighs for Moab like flutes, and My heart moans and sighs like flutes for the men of Kir-heres (Kir-hareseth); therefore [the remnant of] the abundant riches they gained has perished.

37. ഞാന് ഏലാമ്യരെ അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ മുമ്പിലും അവര്ക്കും പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാന് നോക്കുന്നവരുടെ മുമ്പിലും ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കും; ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും അനര്ത്ഥം, എന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം തന്നേ, വരുത്തും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ഞാന് അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ വാള് അയച്ചു അവരെ മുടിച്ചുകളയും.

37. For every head is shaven bald and every beard cut off: upon all the hands are cuts (slashes) and upon the loins is sackcloth [all to express mourning]. [Isa. 15:2, 3.]

38. ഞാന് എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെ ഏലാമില് സ്ഥാപിച്ചു അവിടെ നിന്നു രാജാവിനെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

38. On all the housetops of Moab and in its streets there is lamentation everywhere, for I have broken Moab like a vessel in which there is no pleasure, says the Lord.

39. എന്നാല് ഒടുക്കം ഞാന് ഏലാമിന്റെ പ്രവാസം മാറ്റും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

39. How it is broken down! How they wail! How Moab has turned his back in shame! So Moab has become [an object of] a derision and a [horrifying] terror to all who are round about him.
