1. ആ കാലത്തു അവര് യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെയും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളുടെ അസ്ഥികളെയും ശവകൂഴികളില്നിന്നെടുത്തു,

1. These are the wordes that God spake vnto Ieremie, saying:

2. തങ്ങള് സ്നേഹിച്ചതും സേവിച്ചതും പിഞ്ചെന്നു അന്വേഷിച്ചതും നമസ്കരിച്ചതുമായ സൂര്യന്നും ചന്ദ്രന്നും ആകാശത്തിലെ സര്വ്വസൈന്യത്തിന്നും മുമ്പാകെ അവയെ നിരത്തിവേക്കും; ആരും അവയെ പെറുക്കിക്കൂട്ടുകയോ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയോ ചെയ്കയില്ല; അവ നിലത്തിന്നു വളമായിത്തീരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

2. Stande vnder the gate of the Lordes house, & crye out these wordes there with a loude voyce, and say, Heare the word of the Lorde all ye of Iuda, that go in at this doore to worship the Lorde:

3. ഈ ദുഷ്ടവംശങ്ങളില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ശേഷിപ്പു ഒക്കെയും, ഞാന് അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സകലസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവര് തന്നേ, ജീവനെയല്ല മരണത്തെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

3. Thus saith the Lorde of hoastes, the God of Israel: Amende your wayes and your counsels, and I wyll let you dwell in this place.

4. നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഒരുത്തന് വീണാല് എഴുനീല്ക്കയില്ലയോ? ഒരുത്തന് വഴി തെറ്റിപ്പോയാല് മടങ്ങിവരികയില്ലയോ?

4. Trust not in false lying words, saying: Here is the temple of the Lord, here is the temple of the Lord, here is the temple of the Lorde:

5. യെരൂശലേമിലെ ഈ ജനമോ ഇടവിടാത്ത പിന്മാറ്റമായി പിന്മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നതും വഞ്ചന മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു മടങ്ങിവരുവാന് മനസ്സില്ലാതിരിക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

5. But rather in deede amende your wayes and counsels, and iudge right betwixt a man and his neighbour,

6. ഞാന് ശ്രദ്ധവെച്ചു കേട്ടു; അവര് നേരു സംസാരിച്ചില്ല; അയ്യോ ഞാന് എന്തു ചെയ്തുപോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ആരും തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതയെക്കുറിച്ചു അനുതപിച്ചില്ല; കുതിര പടെക്കു പായുന്നതുപോലെ ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ വഴിക്കു തിരിയുന്നു.

6. Oppresse not the straunger, the fatherlesse, and the widowe, shed not innocent blood in this place, cleaue not to straunge gods to your owne destruction:

7. ആകാശത്തിലെ പെരുഞാറ തന്റെ കാലം അറിയുന്നു; കുറുപ്രാവും മീവല്പക്ഷിയും കൊക്കും മടങ്ങിവരവിന്നുള്ള സമയം അനുസരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ജനമോ യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായം അറിയുന്നില്ല.

7. Then wyll I let you dwell in this place, yea in the land that I gaue afore tyme to your fathers for euer.

8. ഞങ്ങള് ജ്ഞാനികള്; യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെ കള്ളയെഴുത്തുകോല് അതിനെ വ്യാജമാക്കിത്തീര്ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. But take heede, ye trust in lying tales, that beguile you and do you no good.

9. ജ്ഞാനികള് ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചു പിടിപെട്ടുപോകും; അവര് യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ധിക്കരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; അവര്ക്കും എന്തൊരു ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളു?

9. For when ye haue stollen, murthered, committed adultrie and periurie, when ye haue offered vnto Baal, folowing straunge and vnknowen gods: shall ye be vnpunished?

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരെ അന്യന്മാര്ക്കും അവരുടെ നിലങ്ങളെ അവയെ കൈവശമാക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കും; അവരൊക്കെയും ആബാലവൃദ്ധം ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹികള് ആകുന്നു; പ്രവാചകന്മാരും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഒരുപോലെ വ്യാജം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

10. Yet then come ye and stande before me in this house (whiche hath my name geuen vnto it) and say, tushe, we are absolued quite, though we haue done all these abhominations.

11. സമാധാനം ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കെ സമാധാനം സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവര് എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ മുറിവിന്നു ലഘുവായി ചികിത്സിക്കുന്നു.

11. What, thinke you this house that beareth my name, is a denne of thieues? And yet I see what you thinke, saith the Lorde.

12. മ്ളേച്ഛത പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടിവരും; അവര് ഒരിക്കലും ലജ്ജിച്ചിട്ടില്ല നാണം അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുമില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു വീഴുന്നവരുടെ ഇടയില് അവര് വീണുപോകും; അവരുടെ ദര്ശനകാലത്തു അവര് ഇടറി വീഴും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

12. Go to my place in Silo, wherevnto I gaue my name aforetyme, and looke well what I did to the same place for the wickednesse of my people of Israel.

13. ഞാന് അവരെ സംഹരിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയില് മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തില് അത്തിപ്പഴം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ഇലയും വാടിപ്പോകും; അവരെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാന് നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. And now seing ye haue done all these deedes saith the Lorde, and I my selfe rose vp euer betimes to warne you and to commune with you, yet would ye not heare me, I called, ye would not aunswere:

14. നാം അനങ്ങാതിരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു? കൂടിവരുവിന് ; നാം ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ചെന്നു അവിടെ നശിച്ചുപോക; നാം യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മെ നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിച്ചു നശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. Therefore, euen as I haue done vnto Silo, so wyll I do to this house that my name is geuen vnto, and that you put your trust in, yea vnto the place that I haue geuen to you and your fathers:

15. നാം സമാധാനത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് ഗുണവും വന്നില്ല; രോഗശമനത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാല് ഇതാ, ഭീതി!

15. And I shal thrust you out of my sight, as I haue cast out all your brethren the whole seede of Ephraim.

16. അവന്റെ കുതിരകളുടെ ചിറാലിപ്പു ദാനില്നിന്നു കേള്ക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ ആണ്കുതിരകളുടെ മദഗര്ജ്ജനംകൊണ്ടു ദേശമൊക്കെയും വിറെക്കുന്നു; അവ വന്നു ദേശത്തെയും അതിലുള്ള സകലത്തെയും നഗരത്തെയും അതില് വസിക്കുന്നവരെയും വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയും.

16. Therfore thou shalt not pray for this people, thou shalt neither geue thankes nor bid prayer for them: make thou no intercession for them, for in no wise will I heare thee.

17. ഞാന് സര്പ്പങ്ങളെയും മന്ത്രം ഫലിക്കാത്ത അണലികളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അയക്കും; അവ നിങ്ങളെ കടിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

17. Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Iuda, and in the streetes of Hierusalem?

18. അയ്യോ, എന്റെ സങ്കടത്തില് എനിക്കു ആശ്വാസം വന്നെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; എന്റെ മനസ്സു വല്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

18. The chyldren gather stickes, the fathers kindle the fire, the wome kneade the dough to bake cakes for the queene of heauen: they powre out drinke offeringes vnto straunge gods, to prouoke me vnto wrath.

19. കേട്ടോ, ദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്നു എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പുത്രിസീയോനില് യഹോവ വസിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? അവളുടെ രാജാവു അവിടെ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങള്കൊണ്ടും അന്യദേശങ്ങളിലെ മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികള്കൊണ്ടും എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതെന്തിന്നു?

19. Howbeit they hurt not me saith the Lord, but rather confounde and shame them selues.

20. കൊയ്ത്തുകഴിഞ്ഞു, ഫലശേഖരവും കഴിഞ്ഞു; നാം രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുമില്ല.

20. And therefore thus saith the Lorde God: Beholde, my wrath and indignation shalbe powred out vpon this place, vpon men and cattell, vpon trees in the fielde, and fruite of the lande: and it shall burne, so that no man may quench it.

21. എന്റെ ജനത്തിന് പുത്രിയുടെ മുറിവു നിമിത്തം ഞാനും മുറിപ്പെട്ടു ദുഃഖിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നു; സ്തംഭനം എന്നെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

21. Thus saith the Lorde of hoastes the God of Israel: Heape vp your burnt offeringes with your sacrifices, and eate the fleshe.

22. ഗിലെയാദില് സുഗന്ധതൈലം ഇല്ലയോ? അവിടെ വൈദ്യന് ഇല്ലയോ? എന്റെ ജനത്തിന് പുത്രിക്കു രോഗശമനം വരാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു?

22. For when I brought your fathers out of Egypt, I spake no worde vnto them of burnt offeringes and sacrifices:
